Scooter Boy |
His gripe? They hardly spent any time there.
Here's the irony...
Until recently, 'Scooter Boy' was Head of Asset Allocation at Coutts. He 'exited' in April and no one can tell the Dame why.
Ironically, Marshall's job was to advise the international super rich on where to stash their cash.
Would he have advised them Prime Central London was a great place to buy property? Obviously; after all K&C is a safe haven for these people.
So his comment to the Standard is really rather odd....
“The combined effect of overseas investment into property within the Royal Borough is to increase prices while decreasing the number of households who reside here,” complained Quentin Marshall, chairman of the council’s housing and property scrutiny committee."
Imagine the conversation with one of Quent's Russky clients, the obese and greedy Mr Grabalucansky, " Boy, I have a spare billion and I wanna buy some of your K&C real estate just in case I need to make a runner. Good idea?".
Quent: "Oh, yes sir, an excellent idea. Around Harrods is a very good bet".
The scale of buy-to-leave homes in K & C is so great that, at a time of rapidly increasing population across the whole of the UK, RBKC is the only borough in south east England with a diminishing population!
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, splashed across the front page of this week's local freebie rag: The K & C Post - not to be confused with RBKC's own Pravda-lite rag - is an article blaming current government policies for causing RBKC to lose 97% of its current council housing in the next few years.
In reality, there is no discernible distance between government policies and those of our own rotten council. Social cleansing has been undeclared RBKC policy for years. Now, no one living in K & C council or housing trust accommodation is safe in their home. Meanwhile the autumn edition of RBKC Pravda proudly announces that the council is currently buying 39 homes for K & C's poor, all naturally well away from our rapidly depopulating rotten borough.
Housing in other parts of the UK even.. Bradford comes to mind among other less luxurious places.
ReplyDeleteIn respect of foreigners acquiring property in RBKC, Dame's and others concerns are justified. Can our dear Dame imagine having Mr Grabaucansky as he landlord? Perish the thought... having to learn basic Russian..... But that may have unexpected benefits - caviar and over-proof vodka for breakfast...
The Town Hall Tories say it's OK, because auntie may spend a couple of weeks per year in the empty flat and spend £2 million in Harrods, thus boosting the local economy.
ReplyDeleteWhat economy? Without population there is no economy?
ReplyDeleteWhat's the Labour shower doing about RBKC social cleansing.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing RBKC Labour does is pick up the allowances for councillors.
DeleteSince Labour shafted Emma Dent Coad, she does not bother coming on here anymore. I miss her strops on the Hornet.
No wonder Dent Coad has now lost her mojo.
DeleteGetting stabbed in the back by your colleagues tends to de-motivate!
It must have been humiliating for Emma to be seen off by her back stabbing mates but that's Labour for you. Loyalty does not exist in New or Old Labour.
DeleteThe Tories have been known for seeing people off too but the Tories do it in a more sophisticated classy way. Labour loves to do people down by stabbing them in the back in public. Remember Ken Livingstone shafted the guy who won the election by mounting a coup so he could become Labour Leader of the GLC. I'd like to know who it was who did for Emma Dent Coad.
DeleteI don't know how Emma Dent Coad can serve alongside her back stabbing Labour colleagues.
DeleteBecause she wants the money of course. She is very upset to have lost her very generous leader's allowance.
DeleteWe must not forget that Labour politicians like the money
DeleteJust how many of the Labour, Liberal Democrat and Tory Councillors currently on the Council of RBKC would seek election if they were unable to claim expenses?
DeleteDoes anybody remember the name of the Councillor who said they objected to people using the Freedom of Information Act to find out how much they claimed from the Council?
DeleteCllr EDC brought value to the Hornet with her rants. I do not remember the Labiur woman before her contacting the good lady. The woman who is now running the Labour show won't win any prizes for contributions to the Hornet
DeleteGetting on the Council when you don't have a proper job is the best away to avoid the dole queue. Councillors Allowances are better than JSA.
DeleteDear Dame,
Delete15.15 makes a good point. Dent Coad goes on serving on the Council along side the Labour Party backstabbers because she wants the money.
Does anyone know how much she got paid when she was leader of the opposition?
This councillor with his Courtfield cohorts Lady Rutherfail & the Professor Coates have allowed Eastern European crime gangs to put up sex cards in Telephone boxes up and down Old Brompton Road in one of the most heavily schooled areas in London. & outside Small Waitrose, Hummingbird Cafe and What must the tourists think of us to allow gangs to do this.
ReplyDeleteYou'd think that with so many CCTV cameras everywhere, the council could identify the perpetrators, get the police on to the case, then get them banged up.
ReplyDeleteBut then, as we all know thanks to the Dame, our councillors have better things to do
Hornet is just a planning site now that Dent Code and Blakeman have stopped writing for her.
ReplyDeleteCllr Palmer( for he loves to be addressed as cllr) we know that you are odd but it failed to escape your attention that planning matters are of vital significance for residents, which could account for the prominence the wonderful Dame gives to them. Now toddle off.
ReplyDeleteThe funniest thing of all is how the great Borwick sent you packing....
Please tell us how Victoria Borwick sent Palmer packing.
DeleteCould it, perchance, have anything to do with the many phone calls to Australia made from the Conservative offices. No one would accuse the cllr of having made them, but then again, if one had not made the calls why would one be forced to reimburse the £590 cost.....
DeletePalmer is boasting about how he joined the Labour Party for £3 and cast his vote for Jeremy Corbyn. But as a stanch Tory, may I ask how he can now remain as a Conservative councillor, given that he signed a declaration in support of the aims of Labour? Or is he going to become a Fifth Column for Labour on the Council? Time for Cllr. Ahern to investigate and maybe expel him – again. He was suspended for quite a time after the misuse of the Association’s telephones referred to above.
DeleteI am sure that Lady Borwick has sufficient clout in Tory circles to see off Palmer once and for all. Fair enough, she sent Palmer packing which is good but not good enough.
