CLLR DENT COAD AND THE HOLLAND PARK ACADEMY

The Dame has been under the weather of late.
Her mood was not enhanced by her drug crazed nephew, Ludo, drawing attention to Emma Dent Coad's perceptive summing up of the 'goings on' at the Holland Park Academy.
Rumours that HM, Colin Hall, plans to move from academy status to independent are evidently wide of the mark...

Anyway, Ludo upset the Dame by sneering at her literary attempts, comparing them unfavourably to Cllr Dent Coad's more sophisticated output.
So the Dame decided to provide a link to the Dent Coad blog: readers can make up their own minds!

  2. Poor Matthew - sooner or later he will get in trouble for commenting on the Dame's blog; it is against the Tory Whip.

  3. One of the "Bullingdon" boys featured on the school website bears an unfortunate and doubtless coincidental resemblance to Moylan. Let's hope he grows out of it.

Cllr Dent Coad provides much needed and reasoned criticism of this disgraceful waste of residents' money.

    1. It is unlikely that Moylan has children

  4. An independent public school in the middle of London, brand new and £100 million paid by tax payers, using "process" to convert from "comprehensive" to "academy" to "independent", would be a masterstroke of manipulation. On a scale that not even Cllr Cockle could dream up

We know that Headmaster Hall is devious, but this kind of exploitation and manipulation will come down on his head.

    1. It is a sure fire business plan. Get rid of all the North Kensington kids (social cleansing?) and create a new market opportunity. Hard pressed tax payers in Kensington and Chelsea struggling to find boarding school fees of £35k per year, will be tempted to cut and run and convert to day school fees in W8. The pictures in Emma Dent Coad's blog give the game away. A vision of fair Anglo Saxon angels - a million miles away from the current multi cultural scene in the school playground.

A cheap school option at Holland Park would fly. £35k per year for two kids is £70k before tax or £100k per year of taxed income. That's £500k over five years. Phew.....

  5. St Pauls and Westminster schools would have an interesting case to make under competition law. A new competitor in the public school market funded by taxpayers.

Michael Gove is no fool. He and his wife looked at Holland Park School for their sprog but no doubt sensed the political train crash that could happen. They sent the sprog to Greycoats instead. Colin Hall is pissed off. He had set his heart on haveing the child of a Cabinet Minister in his care and went the extra mile to woo them.

Beware the Kensington ladies with pearls. I have found out that they need to be treated with kid gloves

  8. Cracking set of comments. Cllr "Rock" has twins to educate and not much evidence of earning potential. Holland Park School might suit him down to the ground.

  10. Is this situation entirely Pooter's responsibility, or is it now at least partly down to NPB's recent decisions?
