FREELOADER OF THE YEAR |
Coverage of this historic event has been scant-apart from a slimy piece in the Royal Borer.
The equally sycophantic The Kensington and Chelsea Toady has published a vomit inducing piece.
The Dame thinks that Pooter does deserve a councillor of the Year award.
But her award would be for the skill with which he has managed to extract an average of £120,000 a year from local taxpayers.
This leads the Dame to the news the Government has barred councillors from joining council final salary pension schemes
Brandon Lewis, the minister, told MPs councillors should not be entitled to pensions 'as it encouraged people(like Pooter and Danny Boys) to become full–time politicians.
Lewis went on: "Ministers in this government take fundamentally different view to the last administration.
We do not believe that taxpayer–funded pensions are justified.
Councillors are volunteers undertaking public service: they are not and should not be employees of the council dependent on the municipal payroll."
Incredible how the Hornton Street machine grinds on and continues to flatter and tickle this failed politician who was found out. They have not figured out that he can no longer throw baubles their way. But like a supertanker that takes three days to change course and seven days to slow down, the corrupt administration that was fostered and developed over the last 10 years is taking time to unravel
ReplyDelete"Councilors are volunteers undertaking public service"
ReplyDeleteSays it all. Time for Hornton Street to return to normality. Good riddance to Pooter and his ilk
Councillor of the year has to be Cllr Mills, for bringing style back to the Office of Mayor. Or Cllr Weatherhead, one of the retiring Councillors, for giving years and years of dedicated and selfless service to the Royal Borough. But NOT one of the freeloading and self serving individuals who have recently become a feature of life in Hornton Street
ReplyDeleteOr Cllr Freeman or Cllr Borwick for integrity
DeleteIt becomes more evident each day that despite the change at the top, nothing has changed in Hornton Street.
ReplyDeleteCllr Weatherhead would get my vote, if only we residents were granted such a revolutionary privilege.
Cllr Weatherhead was a councillor in the days when councillors were always out of pocket quite significantly if they were to do their job properly. And she was and is not a wealthy woman, so is a genuine selfless public servant - even if one doesn't always agree with her.
ReplyDeleteWhen will the monster Cockle fade away and be out of sight? Soon I hope
ReplyDeleteThe Tories should never have let this trash through the door
DeleteWhat a complete and utter waste of axpayers money; Sir Merrick must be so proud of himself. Sir Merrick Cockell really represent everything which is nasty about the nasty party. A man who manipulated himself into a position of trust and completely abused that trust. A man only interested in his own importance and financial gain. Fingers crossed that he will get his just reward by being given the golden boot in the forthcoming council election in North Stanley Ward.
ReplyDeleteThis is Nuts - a bit like Jacques Rogge giving himself and Olympic Gold, and telling the athletes' and spectators how good he is - Is this now The Rotten Borough of Kensington and Cockell - what a Dufus
