BUCHAN MEETS HUNT WITH GOOD IDEAS

This government has made no allowance for the impact of inflation on house price growth. This has especially hit normal people living in the constituency so her suggestion that the principal residence should not attract Inheritance Tax makes utter good sense. So, to does lowering stamp duty.

When Felicity met up with the Chancellor she made the following sensible suggestions: let's hope he was in listening mode.

Here they are...

  • lowering the top end rates of stamp duty which are a tax on social mobility and which are a real disincentive for people to move, whether downsizing or upsizing
  • removing the principal residence from Inheritance Tax
  • reducing Income Tax

  1. A shame she doesn't solve the problems of the homeless of the RBKC also.

    1. Stupid comment. This one of the smallest boroughs in the UK. It is a magnet for the world and many wives who all want to live in this place. Let them find other places in the UK. Too many refugees think they can have a pad here.

    2. This post is so stupid and typical of the attitude that will guarantee that Labour forms the next Government. Visit North Kensington and see some of the most deprived areas of the Country with so many families living in dire poverty.

  2. They are going to anyway and it will have nothing to do with IHT. Sure there are terrible housing conditions in the north as there are in hundreds of boroughs. Equally there are thousands of homes in the north of the Borough with homes worth over £400k and who will pay IHT. Just because you are on benefits does not mean we should weep crocodile tears. Housing conditions in the north are a direct result of a mass of people wanting to live in K&C so suck it up

  3. For some years, RBKC has been the only borough in the south of England with a declining population. In the last 20 years or so, the population has gone from 190,000+ to about 145,000. Why? Suggested response: endless empty properties serving no other purpose than a safe place to dump illegitimate foreign funds - aka money laundering. It's notable that very few money laundered properties are in the poverty stricken extreme north of the Rotten Borough; where male life expectancy is 13 years less than in the prosperous south.

  6. It is about time that Buchan had some "good ideas." She has had five years to get those "good ideas." She has been just as bad as Dent Coad was at representing us.

    Dear Dame,

Do you know if Flicka Buchan is going to join the New Tory Pop Group, POPCON? Popcon means Popular Conservatism, a revival of Liz Truss.

We already have Emma and the Hotshot Trots with Corbyn, Long Bailey, O'Donnell and Abbot in her backing group doing left wing harmonies.

    how about........

Liz Truss with the heavy metal, hellraising, Tory monetarists with vocals by Jacob Rees Mogg MP, Nigel Farage, Priti Patel MP and, perhaps, Flicka Buchan MP.

  10. Lent starts next week. Is there any chance that the Dame could ensure that there is no mention of ,the now entirely irrelevant , Mrs Dent for the duration ? Giving her up will be good for us all & infuriate het

    1. 20.57. You must be joking. Dent wants no coverage because no one has anything good to say about her and, if her many faults are not propagated, she has more of change of getting elected at the GE.

Over 50, 000 people have viewed this blog since it was reinstated and Dent does not want people finding out about her, hence the latest request to the Dame.

    2. Emma Dent Coad is toxic politically.

She is not a marmite figure, she is unpleasant and nasty. Many Kensingtonians dislike her.

In a democracy, freedom of speech is vitally important. People can come to the Dame's blog and sing Emma's praises if they wish to do so but few do so; I wonder why.

If Emma cannot cope with people telling her she is dreadful then she is not right for politics.

"Popcon and the Trots," "Socialist Sopranos" and "Heavy Metal Hellraising Tory Monetarists" hilarious!

Somehow I don't think Felicity Buchan MP and Emma Dent Coad could do a Maria Callus' rendition. They would be more like Hilda Ogden singing, 'The Hills are alive with the Sound of Music.'

    1. Hilda Ogden. My mum read this and said they would be more like Ena Sharples doing Rock of Ages, Pray for me.

I had to look these characters up on the internet because I am only 40. I found clips on You Tube. Flicka in a turban with curlers underneath and Emma in a hairnet. What a laugh!
