RBK&C HUSBAND & WIFE TEAM PULL IN OVER £1,000 A WEEK!

Here's another lucky couple of greedy so and so's

Sarah Addenbrooke and hubby, Will Pascall,  are pulling in over £1000 a week from RBK&C taxpayers.
With their pensions and ex's the figure is probably around £60,000 a year.
No wonder Will is looking so smug.
Quite a little family business!

  3. Question:

    Dear Dame

What can we do to stop the ongoing parasitic, incompetent RBKC culture which allows the worst councillors to prosper with little or no work within RBKC? Some/many of whom have been shown to be property speculators in their own right.

The Borough has been carved up under our very noses and we are all damaged by the RBKC greed and dismal performance, we have all paid the price for their incompetence.

Could the Dame drop a letter to The Times?

    Please help!

    Thank you.

    2. I think they should set up a new remuneration system akin to 'Like' button. By this our borough could become the pioneer in introducing such unique system. The more the Councillors receive 'Like' or 'Credit point', they get paid for each vote/click which means that those that sit around doing nothing will get no payment and hard working councillors will naturally be rewarded by happy residents who were helped. You can always set a yearly cap on the amount the Councillors could be paid. I think the system is fair. Can we start a consultation asap? No action means nothing will change btw.

    3. Ah, don't forget dear, these people were 'democratically' elected to their positions. So, do no cry wolf now. Your and other residents' chance to change will come in the next local elections. You just have make sure that people vote.

    4. Sad Badger, That may be so but the new payment system will put a stop to it should the future lot of Councillors decide to take advantage and to abuse the system. Remember, DHSS do numerous checks on claimants, I don't see why the Councillors should be exempt.

    1. oh, dear: you do not have to actually see them to do anything, for them to be paid. That is a very old concept of reward for work done. Does not apply to local authorities, I am told.

  6. I think RBKC Solicitor Laverne Parker has a lot to answer for - lots of complaints from residents brushed aside .

    1. Indeed, the dear illustrious Chief Solicitor is just as bad as the Councillors; she wallows in the fetid bottomless swamp.

    2. oh, is she still employed by RBKC? Better be, as a reference to a stint in Horton Street, especially as a solicitor does NOT command the same cachet as it is few weeks ago. Re: Pooter and Meyer efforts to remove any references to RBKC from their various 'profiles'- very toxic nowadays

    3. This woman was responsible to ensure that all the necessary public notices were published, just in time on the Obits and Public Notices page, preferably in the Friday's edition of Fulham's Parsons' Green Gazette, to ensure minimum of readership and therefore the very minimum of comments/complaints/objections to whatever scheme RBKC had cooked up. As a result RBKC could claim that only 3/4 objections were submitted. That is sailing very close to the wind.. Is it legal? Probably, yes. Is it fair and ethical? Probably, not. But RBKC is not prepared to consider these niceties, are they?

  7. Dahling Leverne is nothing but a sycophantic 'yes' woman. Please note the constant ad for a 'solicitor' in the Nest's 'Work for Us' section. Wonder why?

  8. Laverne Parker has been a bed blocker for years. She survives because she does what the Leader tells her to do and Councillors know that when they get into trouble Laverne will spend whatever it takes to hire expensive lawyers to defend them.

For example when disgraced ex Cllr Phelps was hauled up before the Standards Committee after a resident complained that he had brought the Council into disrepute, Parker authorised £36k spending on solicitors to defend Phelps. They lost and Phelps was told to "behave himself" and the Standards Committee was abolished.

Post Grenfell, Leverne Parker has ever been more secure. Fielding-Mellen and Co are relying on her to dig deep to hire the best lawyers to defend them in the face of the various inquiries that are getting underway. Council Tax payers will pick up the bill.

    1. This was an example of a determined resident taking on City Hall. Disgraced ex Cllr Phelps called the resident a liar during an open public Council meeting and emboldened by Parliamentary privilege challenged the resident to "sue".

At the time the Council recorded Council meetings and the resident wrote to Leverne Parker and requested a copy of the transcript. Six months of correspondence ensued while Parker claimed that the Council could not provide the transcript because it contained "personal comments by a Councillor". The enraged resident complained to the Ombudsman and after a further six months of aggravation and correspondence the Ombudsman ordered Leverne Parker to release the transcript which formed the basis for the complaint to the Standards Committee.

Immediately, the Council stopped recording Council Meetings.

This is the same Leverne Parker who was seen sitting next to disgraced ex Leader Cllr Paget-Brown at the infamous Council Meeting to discuss Grenfell when piggy said that he had received legal advice (from Parker) that the "public and press should be excluded from the meeting". The press of course would have none of this, obtained a Court Injunction, and that was the end of piggy.

Leverne Parker operates in a Hornton Street culture that does not understand that for all decisions, justice needs to be seen to be done. This is a basic and fundamental skill of politics. But for years a culture has been operating in Hornton Street that has contempt for residents. One manifestation of this culture is behaviour in the Legal Department that uses the law to find wriggle room, precedents and ambiguity to shaft residents in favour of Councillors. Officers and Counselors understand well that residents get worn down by the stonewalling and prevarication from Hornton Street. Even the "difficult" residents just get worn out and go away.

      Until the Dame came along.

This behaviour in Hornton Street has to stop. It is an urgent task for the current Leader, Cllr Campbell to address. Otherwise she too will be dust.

    2. At the time of resident protests about selling off the playground of Holland Park School to developers for luxury housing (that pet project of disgraced ex Leader Cllr Cockell), Cockell identified the leaders of the protesters and started briefing that they were "unsound", "carried a grudge", were "mischief makers", "were attacking the Tories", "were selfish NIMBYs".

The enraged residents put this monster under the microscope. And surprise surprise. Discovered that he was using the Mayor's Bentley for personal use, taking jollies to New York, Boston and San Francisco and entertaining people "whose name he forgot" at top class restaurants on a Saturday night. All on the council tax payer.

The same residents approached the Tax Payers Alliance to seek advice on how to tackle the evil in Hornton Street. "Set up a website to expose the Council" was the advice of the Chief Executive, Matthew Elliot.

      The Hornets Nest was born.

    4. Retired Chief Executive2 September 2017 at 17:29

This behaviour is called "upward management". Staff fixate themselves with the question "What does my boss want to hear?" They forget their training, their duty, their professionalism and their dignity. In summary, they forget what "is right".

Organisations that sink into this behaviour inevitably wither and die. In the private sector, shareholders change the management. In democracy, voters can change the political party.

Many blogs on the Hornet suggest that the the Leadership in the Town Hall has allowed a sinister culture to develop. When Cllr Paget-Brown held his Grenfell meeting he knew that he would receive a roasting if it was a public meeting. Leverne Parker no doubt understood that she would receive brownie points and the favour of the "big man" if she gave a legal excuse to exclude the public and the press from the meeting. Both of them had lost sight of reality.

  9. Let's name those officers and employees of RBKC that need to go post Grenfell. Laura Johnson (Housing) and Tony Redpath (Strategy) have pushed off already. Think Leverne Parker (Law) and Richard Egan (Copororate Property) must be next?

    1. Johnson, Repath, and Egan share responsibility for Cllr Feilding Mellen's softly softly policy of social cleansing and gerrymandering. Hopefully one day the press and police will investigate. Thank you Dame, the Borough solicitor is just the tip of this most corrupt Town Hall

  12. Cllr Pascall wants the Leadership. He is playing his cards close to his chest but is positioning friends (incluidng wife) to help him take over.

What do we know about this man? On the Planning Committee he was routinely "thick". And we also know that he is currently struggling to pay school fees.

  13. As private landlords they may also be dipping in the public purse through receipt of housing benefit if they have tenants who cannot afford high rents. But they do not declare this as an interest so it cannot be so.
