Local children suffer so international property developers can make hundreds of millions......

  1. Surely this matter is not yet settled? Countless families will suffer, while a handful of money launderers will add to their already obscene profits. Piece by piece this rotten council is selling the rotten borough from under us. Time for the complacent middle classes to rouse themselves from their stupor and call those responsible to account!

  2. The Councillors are complicit and compliant. This is not democracy.

    1. Sadly it is a democracy. It's just that too many of our neighbours are so short-sighted that they can't see what is happening under their noses. As I have written before, pin a blue rosette to a chimpanzee and he (for it will be a 'he') will be elected.

  3. The Rotten Borough doesn't "do" democracy. It does deals and commissions, particularly those in brown envelopes.

There's an interesting article in this weekend's FT. Despite the recent general election result, the obscenely overpriced and overrated houses in Holland Park no longer sell. It's quite possible this signals the start of the long overdue correction in PCL house prices. A sad day for the developers and their money laundering clientele.

  4. There was a moment some years ago when the garden of the Imperial palace in Tokyo was supposedly worth more money than all the real estate in California.
