QUIRKY?

Quirke
Barry Quirke tells the Dame that he and the Council are working with the KCTMO to move to new structures for managing the Council’s residential properties, starting with the Lancaster West estate.

However, he won't go into the detail.

For example, he tells her, "All parties are agreed on the desirability of an orderly transition to new arrangements.
Residents will be consulted about the nature of the new arrangements, which may vary for different groups of properties."

What will these 'new arrangements' be?
We all know that in K&C 'consultation' has as much meaning as democracy in North Korea.

  1. Anything other than an ORDERLY TRANSITION TO NEW ARRANGEMENTS would be considered to be UNREASONABLE and UNCOOPERATIVE.

KCTMO is paid to manage all of RBKC property in the best interests of those it serves; tenants and leaseholders.

The word on the street is that KCTMO was never intended to be as big as it was and was originally planned to be several small KCTMO's looking after the various ward segments of RBKC housing stock.

WHY WAS THE ORIGINAL PLAN OF SEVERAL SMALL SIZED KCTMO'S NOT IMPLEMENTED?

KCTMO IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE

    VOTE THEM OUT!

    1. ah, you are mis-informed... There were small segments. For example, the Lancaster west estate management board. This was responsible for local repairs and other matters. However, this was riddled with corruption and incompetence. Ms Jones is a prime example. This was got rid off and the Hub in Kensall Road became responsible, with disastrous results,

The whole nonsense of consultant speak is setting in around Hornton Street. A novelty for Dizzie Lizzie and more of the same for Qhirky who makes a living trotting out this stupidity. It has a half life of 18 months after which he needs to move on and find a new client.

    Two prats in the trough.

  3. Different rules apply to different properties to confuse people so that we can't check each other out? Even if you are short changed, the other bigger estates are getting what they want...then obviously this will make it easier to divide tenants so that they won't unite to support each other. Sounds like the plan.

Did he not mention about the housing association plan Dame?

  4. The word on the street is KCTMO is bankrupt financially and morally and RBKC who are keeping them afloat can pull the plug at anytime.

    1. Sadly, there is no credible alternative. Hence the delay in doing so. Apparently, they are working on it; it takes time to get a competent team together, you know. Particularly, if you are dealing with the same dross, from elsewhere.

  5. When the TMO was a complete basket case and run by Rawlings and Evans, none of the estates in North Kensington got anything like the investment, repairs and maintenance that they needed. Everything was spent in the south - to please the Tory councillors there. Contempt for North Kensington has avery long history.

    1. Yes, the new employer should competency test anyone being transferred and start processes to get rid of the useless. TUPE applies to a transfer of staff when an undertaking is transferred to a new owner. The TMO is not being transferred lock stock and barrel and if any transfers of staff under employment protection legislation are triggered it is likely to be limited to low status workers, not the top brass. As the TMO is not being taken over as a corporate body we should see a lot of people heading to the Jobcentre.

    2. A lot of people on the TMO Board have never had a work ethic and the Jobcentre is something they have always managed to avoid.

    3. 17.41 is right. Top brass and a lot of people in Technical Services will be in the residue for redundancy. This break up of Council housing will not keep the staff and the properties together. This was Kingford's rationale for creating a TMO.

  8. The "move to new structures for managing the Council’s residential properties" consists in cancelling the 2017 AGM, thus stopping members from talking with one another. There are presently no structures allowing tenants & leaseholders to share views and unite for action. To the TMO, Grenfell was just an incident. To many, it was a disaster waiting to happen, given the the mentality prevailing inside the TMO. A serious rethink of how to best manage K&C's housing stock is needed, involving ALL concerned. Preferably before another Grenfell takes place (God forbids).

This Bruno de Florence is right. The Prime Minister has said in Parliament, "The TMO is not fit for purpose." I could have told her that for free before eighty people burned to death, or choked from the inhalation of smoke. As the TMO is not fit for purpose, it follows that the people who turn up for work there, and I say turn up for work because no one works at the TMO, are not up to the job. They bullied residents and blacklisted those who were not deferential and should not be allowed to contaminate any other housing place.

  10. Please, please make sure that you are a Member of the TMO (if you are a TMO resident) and come to the AGM on 17 October at 6.30 pm, venue to be advised. Then you can vote for its abolition - or for it to carry on if you accept their bullying warnings about what will happen to you if a hosing association takes over. You can opt for self-management of your estate/locality instead.

    1. This is the first I hear about this AGM, and yet, I am a TMO tenant & a member of the TMO. Thanks for posting this. This gathering could be used to start organising ourselves. How did you hear about it? Any literature/reports available to help us make our decision?

    1. No. Black and Maddison should have resigned on the day of the Grenfell tragedy. They are still drawing salaries and contributing to their gold plated pensions. The people who pay rent are also contributing indirectly to their gold plated pensions.

The Chairman of the TMO, Fay Edwards, BEM (which is, for those who do not know, the Bullshit Every Minute Medal) has surpassed herself. In a letter to Company Members, she has the audacity to say that the winding up of the TMO will be a "disappointment" to some. Take it from me,darling, the many not the few are ecstatic about the folding of the TMO. I am looking forward to paying the £ 1 required of every member of the Company on its winding up.

The only people who will be "disappointed" by the TMO folding are those drawing fat salaries for sitting on their arses and achieving nothing comparable to their counterparts on similar salaries in the commercial sector. And lest we forget, those scroungers on the TMO Board claiming means-tested benefits and deceiving Social Security in to believing that these payments are out of pocket expenses. None of these scroungers, who are walking away with over £ 100 a month for calling themselves
"Directors," have their Social Security or Housing Benefit reduced. To think, I pay tax to help keep TMO Board members in a life of luxury.; the same people who oversaw the management of Grenfell Tower. This expenses deception started back in the day of Gordon Perry and was enjoyed by the good friends of the TMO who became Resident Directors. These same people, who were scrounging, saw off the many decent people who were unfortunate enough to live in a RBK&C Council flat.

It used to be a joke that expenses allowances paid for the fags of one long standing Board member.
