Pooter Cockell was at a Conservative Party Conference fringe meeting addressed by then Mayor, Ken Livingstone.
INVERTED SNUBBERY |
Ken, listened intently and replied in his horrid, nasal tones, “just remind me where you live, Merrick.” "Philbeach Gardens," replied Pooter.
Ken smacked his forehead saying, “Ah, now I remember...you're on the new route."
A furious and red faced Pooter stumped off.....the laughter of Ken's acolytes' ringing in his ears!
what absolute rubbish
ReplyDeleteI could not agree more: fancy going up to Livingstone and asking such a damned fool question. No wonder he was put in his place
ReplyDeleteThat is what Ken said. Always good for a one liner.
ReplyDeleteWho believes King Newt these days - Especially after he lost the Libel case against Andrew Gilligan last month.
ReplyDeleteIt goes to prove that this blog is Blairite / Browite / Millipede Pravda
I think you are missing the point anon 16:16. The question is who believes in King Pooter aka Dead Man Walking?
ReplyDeleteWell hardly....
ReplyDeleteI suspect the Dame just does not like crooked and greedy local London politicians-of whatever political colour. Try not to thick 16:16 and admit it put silly pompous Pooter in his place.
I think the story is CR*P, the source is unreliable, the likelihood of it happening is very low, the logic of the carnival going down to Earls Crt silly - this blog total rubbish
ReplyDeletePoor old 20:16 desperate to protect the unprotectable. It is true and it did happen. The Dame's sources are impeccable. In fact even Pooter thought it quite amusing and went round telling people.
ReplyDeleteThe Source is LIVINGSTONE, totally NOT impeccable
ReplyDeleteThe Dame's jovial little story seems to have caused apoplexy ....20:16 stop being a silly little chap!
ReplyDeleteOf course, the idea of the Carnival going down Earls Ct Rd is illogical. The point of the story is that Ken(who the Dame thinks quite frightful) was pulling Pooter's leg. Now for goodness's sake stop taking everything quite so seriously. We are short of stories since the disaster of Tot's making and this filled up some space.....
So 10:01 got it right by saying that this story was rubbish
ReplyDeleteFollowed by
20:16 who said that this web site was CR*P
and now we have the admission from the Hornet that they / he / She / it tell outright lies and smear people just to justify the their constant hate against one person. How many other lies has the Hornet told us that were Bullsh*t?
23:54 your defence of pooter is admirable, the Dame only seeks accountability from the man who does not do meetings and cannot keep his hand out of the cookie jar, I am told he has a sweet tooth. So please do not think Potter is hated, by the way does anyone know if there were any kick backs for scuppering BT.
DeleteThe fact you cannot call this man by his real name only shows who you are despite the fact you use the label of "Anonymous"
DeleteObviously you are well acquainted with "pooter" so real name not needed. With regard to "Anonymous" you haven't exactly made yourself known, but your support of pooter says much about you.
DeleteAs 23;54;20:16 and 10:01 are all one and the same the Dame will dispose of your rude and scatological comment in one fell swoop. The Dame did not suggest the story was baseless. She said though she agreed awful Ken would never have allowed the Carnival to process through Earls Court, she saw the funny side of Ken putting Pooter down in his place. Does the Dame hate Pooter? Of course not! She thinks he is taking advantage of residents by holding on for dear life to his lucrative posts. But hate? No....merely contempt: a very different sentiment!
ReplyDeleteStop believing that the Dame is some sort of covert Labourite. Her mission is simply to clean up a very corrupted Council...a Rotten Brough!
Poor Inspector Clouseau (23, 20.16 and 10.01) - I fear not that he has had a sense of humour by-pass, but that he never had one to pass by in the first place!
ReplyDeleteI met Palmer once and a very unpleasant experience it was. He certainly had a hatred of the Labour Party. I suspect that somewhere lurks a personality problem that makes it difficult for him to control his outbursts and his awful rough language.
ReplyDeleteit is amazing, this trite blog and anyone who disagrees must be Palmer
ReplyDeleteI suspect that there is a certain degree of jealously that this 'trite little blog' has managed to attract
ReplyDeleteover 106,000 viewers...new and repeat...oh, but one forgets the 'viewers' have been generated by a mass of the Dame's friends accessing the site like mad! Don't be a silly fellow 20:26. The site is read throughout the Rotten Borough. In fact, it is now Pooter's 'bete noir'!!!!!
Without wishing to be disrespectful to either the Labour Party or any other political party, in my view the Hornets Nest provides an invaluable discussion hub for those who genuinely care about the goings on within RBK&C. It has been clear to many that Sir Merrick, for quite a few years now, is not doing a good job and he has been in post for far too long. It is high time Sir Merrick stood down (after 14 years; is this democracy?) giving someone else a chance to do an effective job instead of hogging the position of Leader.
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Ha Ha
ReplyDeletePooter head of an independent think tank, that should get a few laughs, check this out http://www.localis.org.uk/.
ReplyDeleteDreadful
ReplyDeleteThe idea of Pooter Cockell being responsible for innovative skills training programmes has to be one a silly season story. As chairman of Localis Pooter is working hard to 'engineer' skills training to get people 'back to work'.
ReplyDeleteThe first beneficiary might be Pooter himself. His only skill sets are an amazing ability to find ways to derive income from local government taxpayers:mind you, he does an impressive job with that.
This blog has strayed along way from the Lies of Ken
ReplyDeleteThe problem with Cllr. Palmer and his hatred of the Labour Party is that he does not seem to accept the concept of Her Majesty's Opposition, which is a key element of our democracy. This must surely render him ineligible to be a member of the Conservative Party, a democratic party that does accept the concept of opposition?
ReplyDeleteAlmost certain of it, I understand he has a voodoo doll of Tony Benn
ReplyDeleteWhy wase time on Palmer? He is a sad nothing. Behind Pooter's back he constantly asks colleagues when they think Pooter will go. But he is still desperate to try to keep himself 'in'.
ReplyDeleteit's a pity people are not understanding the reality of things. Criminal acitivty is being accepted as part of RBKC, it is regarded as 'Nazi' by millions of people. Very scary.
