I was sitting quietly ‘supping’ a pint in the Phelps Arms when I happened to overhear a conversation between three earnest-looking young men....one of them seemed to be the senior of the group and I heard him referred to as Cllr Palmer or Palmolive....to be honest there was a bit of a din so I may have it wrong.
Anyway, this tall, odd-looking fellow was holding forth to the others and claiming that come May he would be a member of the RBKC Executive Team.
According to this Palmer chappie there has to be a group meeting after the election and all the well-paid jobs will be ‘up for grabs’.
Palmer says that his friend, Cllr Mills is going to put herself up against Cllr Campbell and will be bound to win.
Madame Mischief |
One of the others asked how could this be possible.
The councillor chappie said with a smug smirk, “ well when we de-selected all the old guard we got rid of all the Campbell supporters and replaced them with our own people....ok, they are a pretty dire bunch but they will get voted in and in gratitude they will support my friend, Julie. As I helped Julie with the selection process she has more or less promised me a plum job.
I might even become deputy leader”.
I have to say Cllr Palmer/Palmeira’s chums seemed nonplussed at the idea of him as deputy leader but I suppose this particular pig might fly!
Anyway, Dame, I can promise you that’s what I heard.
PS I also heard that Cllr Moylan regrets standing down and is looking to see if he can squeeze someone out.....
Yours very sincerely
A nobody
More lyes from the Hornet. I have never been to a pub called the Phelps Arms and my loyalty is with our leader, Cllr Campbell. This sort of story is put about by people like Dent Toad. The Hornet is a rag and should be closed down.
ReplyDelete'lyes'? OED defines elsewise... It is asserted by many that 'loyalty' of those of your ilk is at least questionable, most probably misplaced, for whatever noxious reasons.
DeletePalmer instead of Pascall? Or the long haired second Deputy?
ReplyDeleteDifficult one......
Do you mean Deputy Leader Taylor-Smith? The poor man's Georgie Best.......
Delete'Georgie Best' . . oh, dear do not mention dear George. He was handsome and charismatic - which poor Kim will never be. He is so, so 'dernier ciecle'
DeleteAfghan- Hound Taylor Smith
DeleteVery timely Dame...
ReplyDeleteAssange drops on the Conservative and upcoming (rigged) election!

People, if you ever come across such conversation, record it secretly!
ReplyDeleteand easily done with all these modern day gizmos. Just think how much you could make from the sale of these covert chats.
Deletewell The Standard is in High Street Ken. But then again, Gideon (cons) is the editor so I don't know they would buy it.
DeleteCllr Palmer and Cllr Mills are very close. Inexplicable. And Palmer is also highly valued by the May election team in Conservative constituency office. Also inexplicable. He is the No 1 gofor and has managed to ingratiate himself with the organisers. Again, inexplicable.
ReplyDeleteIts not as though he is a pin up. Far from it. No sex appeal for man, woman or animal. It is all inexplicable.
Man, woman or animal?
DeleteDon't forget there is a fourth category. Its called Tory.
I heard a story that Robert Freeman is expecting to be mayor again. He is hoping to let Victoria play with his baubles
ReplyDelete'baubles' or balls? lol
DeleteOf course, the sane, sensible and honest recognise that not only was Freeman the best mayor the Royal Borough has ever had but the best council leader we never had. Freeman's problem was that he had levels of intelligence and integrity that put the fear of god into inconsequential people like nyob. But don't worry nyob.....you will always be a yob!
ReplyDeleteIn total confidence Dear Dame, nyob is none other my friend Councillor Mills.
ReplyDeleteSadly her plans are doomed to failure as Norland is going Labour.
As is the Borough !
ReplyDeleteNo chance. EDC has spread her poison so far and so fast that natural Tories, who would normally not bother to cast a vote in local elections, will do so.

ReplyDeleteAbout Matthew Palmer (and some others):
ReplyDeletehttps://thisisnorthkensington.wordpress.com/2018/04/10/local-elections-grenfell-just-how-low-can-some-conservative-candidates-get/
This posting by This is NK is a classic false news story about some Conservative Council Candidates having a drink at the Ladbroke Arms. Big deal you might say and you would be right. I was there and can confirm that the reported conversations did not place and Victoria Borwick was not even there! To be fair to the posting Think admit that they were not there either! In other words they just made it up. Pathetic.
DeleteCouncil Candidate they didn't deny it!
DeleteIllustrates how Conservatives still have no concept of what they have done across the borough and Grenfell highlighted this.
Conservatives should hope they lose control of Kensington Chelsea because after a year very little has been done for those effected by the fire. It doesn't help the Conservative party especially now May's interests in the Middle East.
CC if you're convinced these reported conversations did not take place use your real name if you have faith in your convictions.
