EX BOSS OF 'MAYOR TO BE' PLAYING GAMES IN MENTAL HEALTH DEBATE

Currently Daniel Moylan is paid for following by London taxpayers....
  • Non exec Tfl=£25,000 a year
  • Non exec Crossrail=£40,000 a year
  • Aviation adviser=£75,000 a year
  • RBK&C=£11,500 a year

In total over £150,000 a year!

So Queen's Gate voters may wonder just what the hell is going on.
Palmer is busy checking his share portfolio, whilst the insouciant and insolent Moylan whiles away his time playing on line backgammon in the midst of a vital debate.

One hopes(or, maybe one does not) Cllr Moylan has not persuaded Cllr Palmer to invest in the three property trusts he collects another £40,000 from....despite a bull property market they have lost 90% of their value!

  1. Danny is now obsessed with IPad backgammon. Far more interesting than listening to the problems of the most vulnerable in RBKC. Poor Quuens Gate.

  2. Well at least the good people of Kensington and Chelsea now know how much their Councillors care, eff all. Tragic.

Most interestingly, let's see what Nick PB does about all this. 'Mr Integrity' must be feeling a bit sick right now.

  3. Dame....when you say ex boss do you mean Maighread Condon-Simmonds was his one time housekeeper? We should be told

  4. Cllr Moylan is an ex Deputy Leader of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and currently a Deputy Mayor of Greater London. Young and impressionable Councillors starting out on their career naturally look to the seniors to set the example. This is a thoroughly irresponsible and "could not care less, only here for my allowance" example of behaviour by Moylan in full view of the public, press and fellow Councillors. Obviously he could give a fig about the high calling of public office. Behaviour like this needs to be rooted out viciously and there can be no excuse for Cllr Paget-Brown to brush it under the carpet.

    1. The rot started with Cllr Cockell on his jollies to America, $600 meals for friends at top New York restaurants and use of the Mayor's Bentley to save taxi fares. When Leaders carry on like this the behaviour trickles down and junior Councillors naturally adopt the "anything goes" approach to duty.

Awful. Absolutley awful. K&C has sunk into the pits.

    2. Cllr Paget-Brown needs to stamp on the insect. Stamp on both of them.

A local election is coming. It is the duty of all Labour and Flip Flop Councillors to expose these trashy Conservative Councillors for what they truly are

  6. Flip Flop councillors?

Leader Paget- Brown, you have been given the evidence by the Hornet. The Dame is serving the residents of the Royal Borough and looking after their interests. We expect you to take swift disciplinary action with your freeloading Councillors and make it clear to the rest (in the clear way that you do) that they all need to pull their socks up.

    1. Indeed. Imagine if this kind of behaviour was spotted in the House of Commons? Bercow would be onto them like a flash. Reading Council papers (not the Evening Standard Quentin Marshall) and other Council-related work is acceptable. Checking shares and leisure activities is NOT.

Time for Paget-Brown and his 'wet whip' Ahern to raise the bar and improve the commitment and the conduct of Conservative members.

No sign of Boy Marshall for ages. Is he on polo tour to S America?

    3. I suspect similar behaviour was not atypical in the House of Commons prior to the introduction of television cameras. Even now, it's not exactly rare for back-benchers to doze off during debates ...

We believe that, yes indeed, Marshall is riding ponies and waving his stick around in Argentina. Dirty boy.

Meanwhile his 'job' as Housing and Property chair is on hold for him.

    5. The less said about Marshall's stick waiving the better.

  8. Moylan has spent months briefing against Cllr Paget-Brown. Nick, the time has come.

    1. So WHY does Moylan still have a place on the front bench, when he hasn't been a Cabinet Member for some time now? Just how scared of him are they?

      Pathetic.

  11. Sadly this is nothing new.

Tory Councillors have made a habit of doing anything other than paying attention during Council meetings for years. Go back four or five years and half of them would spend their time fiddling with their Blackberries or reading the Standard. Over the last 2 years or so most appear to have acquired iPads and the like, resulting in a large portion of the chamber surfing the 'net or playing computer games instead of following the meeting. In fact it's pretty clear that following the meeting is entirely optional unless you've been instructed to participate by your seniors (and even then, paying attention is still optional - see Cllr. Rutherford at the last meeting).

If anyone has any doubt as to how well their Councillors earn their allowances I recommend attending a single Council meeting and observing your representatives at work. I doubt you'll be much impressed.

  12. Too many Councillors, not enough to do and too much money to spend. And now the idiot Chairman of the LGA (Pooter Cockle) wants to give them even MORE money. Time to call a halt.

  14. Cllr. Palmer seems to have shares in Land Securities - which of course bought and developed the Holland Park playground that was sold off. Is there a conflict of interest here?

    ReplyDelete
  15. 18.11 is correct. This must be investigated. He could have made a huge profit out of that sale, and is destined to make even more when the development is completed and sold to far eastern non-doms.
