COUNCILLOR PALMER SHARE DEALING DURING COUNCIL MEETING

The Dame was at tonight's council meeting......
With her Kodak Instamatic the old girl managed to capture some extraordinary images of Councillor Palmer hard at work looking after the interests of the residents of  the Royal Borough.
Palmer share dealing on RBKC laptop
As one observer commented, " ..." while debate was raging around him, Palmer showed what he really cares about, demonstrating his total disdain for proceedings."

The pictures show Palmer avidly studying various spivvy penny share dealing sites.

Taking profits during council meeting

The new leader is doing a tremendous job showing residents that he genuinely cares about what they want.
These images undermine all that good work.
Cllr Paget-Brown get rid of this idiot ......please!

Moylan and Pooter seem to have made up. They sat together in the Council Chamber chatting away in between Cllr Moylan's breaks from his computer game. Being more highly paid than the pleb Palmer, Moylan exercised his fingers on an Apple. The Inspector still fingers the Council standard Dell which weighs 8345 grams

    3. Don't worry. Mathew's a big boy. He can cope with an 8kg laptop (although the Council's procurement department should be advised: 1997 called and they want their laptop back).

  2. I think there needs to be a Leisure section in the chamber where those disinterested in debates can sit together

    1. In which case there'd be very few members left in the Council chamber - the Cabinet, the opposition and the few majority party members who have been cajoled into speaking at the meeting. The rest could quite easily be down the pub.

  3. Both councillors receive a generous allowance, paid for by us. They seem to be misusing that allowance, playing games while they should be working. Cllr Lightfoot came up with the strange view last night that this allowance makes being a councillor a paid job. If he follows that through, can Palmer and Moylan please be sacked for gross misconduct? And was Palmer also using electricity paid for by us? Memories of telephone calls to Oz come to mind...

As a first time visitor to a Council debate I was quite surprised to see this gentleman sitting at the back and working so hard on his computer. Most of the time there was a big caption on his computer screen saying "LABOUR TELLS LIES". Very strange

    1. Cllr Palmer appears to be mentally challenged and needs to be reminded which political group he belongs to. His analyst has suggested this simple device to jog his memory and keep him on track. The idiot's frequent and incoherent outbursts throughout the evening were an embarrassment to his colleagues and diminished proceedings that were supposed to be serious.. The big question is "How did this idiot get selected"?

    2. Don't be too harsh on Mathew's creative use of Powerpoint. A single slide with big words is just about all he can manage.

    3. Yes, the Dame is right; last night’s Council meeting was a cracker. She has unequivocally revealed Palmer for the charlatan that he is. The Labour Group had no truck with Sir Merrick’s vanity project and left him impotently muttering under his breath. The Tories were forced to backtrack on their ill thought out cuts to enforcement services and the one serious debate of the evening, on the need for better services for people with complex mental health needs, was only slightly marred by Cllr Rock FM’s unsuitable attempt to politicise the issue.

    4. Rock FM was quite simply distancing himself from any potential fallout. He's now the cabinet member for housing and any suggestion that the Council's housing department is housing people with special needs inappropriately needs to be deflected away (watch out Tim!).

    5. Cllr. Mingay should be congratulated on an excellent riposte to Merrick's speech. Logical, well reasoned and delivered with passion. A five star effort.

      Delete
    6. Mingay's speech was the best of the evening. Why on earth is he not standing again? Lightfoot's speech was second best, allegedly in favour of the motion but actually revealing it for the nonsense it was.

    7. Lightfoot gave the meeting a history lesson covering 100 years of local government funding and pointing out, rather subtly, that Merrick's plan was unworkable and that he was out of his depth. An imperfect system that had taken the best part of a century to create without significant constitutional problems clearly wasn't going to be "fixed" by Merrick as a parting gift to the LGA. Sadly most of the chamber missed the point.

    8. Does anyone think 9.14 and 9.23 is anyone other than Mingay - The sad old husk

    9. Does anyone think 9.45 is anyone other than Palmer? Sorry juvenile oaf. He is just so, so envious of both Cllr Dent Coad and Cllr. Mingay - obviously because they both have the intelligence to which he aspires.

    10. No.

  5. Is Palmer using a Council lap top to pursue his share dealing interests? That is a very serious breach of the councillors' code of conduct and in the olden days could have had him hauled up before the Standards Committee. When will Chief Whip Ahern get a grip on this oaf?

    1. Now there's a question. Was he the one sat on the far side of the public gallery? If so, does this not hint at a potential political come back? The Tories must be desperate (again).

    2. Perhaps he's standing "up north". Cannon fodder is always in demand.

    3. It's ok everyone has totally forgotten Lloyd North's porn star past. Nobody will ever bring it up. The matter has been 'put to bed' and he can 'stand up for Conservatism' again. Various 'members' will give him a 'big hand' and he will never face 'discipline by the whip'.

    1. The story is out and North can turn it to his advantage. A bit of colour on the Tory benches. "I was in a porn film, so what?" "Now lets get on with what matters to residents"

Go for it Lloyd - you've got the gay vote in the bag, the old ladies will love you, and 90% of the Party is rooting for you. That's an 80% vote in a 30% turnout. A no brainer

    2. Hear hear. One less buffoon on the back benches is well overdue.

  9. Back to the subject of this BLOG please. Cllr Palmer is an absolute disgrace to the Tory Party, baggage to his colleagues and a liability to his residents. Not even his Mason Membership can compensate for these terminal shortcomings. This is a matter for the Leader to attend to urgently. Palmer needs to be quietly put out to pasture. He has turned the Conservatives into a laughing stock

When Cllr Freeman puts his mind to it he is very good in the Chamber. Last night he spoke with authority, passion and concern about mental health issues and it was clear that he commanded respect and attention from all Parties and all Councillors (with the cracking exception of Cllr Rock who felt the need to make a small and irrelevant noise). Even Cllr Palmer paused from his share dealing to listen.

  11. This is another Labour inspired attack on the conservatives by the Hornet. There is no proof that the person in the picture is Cllr Palmer. It could be anyone. Anywhere. New hites of trivia and misinformation

    1. Cllr Palmer(aka Up Yours) it has to be you: only you could spell heights....hites. It's only fortunate you have not been put on the education committee.
On the subject of trivia you surely must agree that it's trivial to be share dealing during an important discussion on mental healthcare.
You then seek to sow seeds of doubt by implying the balding man with his back to us was not you. However, Ludo has had your laptop screen enlarged for Auntie D. The date and time tie in with the Council meeting where you were noisily and vacuously present. Anyway, if the subject was not you then you have been defamed. You should instruct your lawyer to demand an apology and retraction. The Dame awaits....

  12. Don't lie, Up Yours, of course it's you, I mean Cllr Palmer. Many people in the public gallery last night saw it and can attest to it.

    2. My mate Palmer is now fire-proff. He will be a respected and valued councillor for Queensgate Ward and sooner or later will be in the Cabinet to crush those Labour lightwieghts.

    3. Hornet readers would be well advised to recognise that the responses that appear to come from Cllr Palmer portray a person in an extreme state of agitation who is probably having an anxiety attack

    4. It is beyond comprehension that Cllr Donaldson was deselected at the same time as Cllr Palmer was promoted from a North seat to Queensgate Ward. Incomprehensible

    5. Cllr Paget-Brown would do well to remember that perception is everything in politics. His gift of the Deputy Leadership to Fielding-Mellen in order to buy the "youth" vote was pragmatic politics which will be put right in time. The reason for keeping Palmer on board is more difficult to understand

  13. 0856 what exactly has Donaldson done in the past 4 years other than help keep Andrew Lamont out of jail?

Yes I would boot Palmer out before Ian Donaldson but what precisely has Donaldson done for the past dozen or so years? I can think of multiple reasons to let him go. Some of the Dame's readers believe that there should be a term limit of 8 years for Councillors.. Donaldson's done 24 already...
