Coleridge Fulsomely Thanked By Grenfell Tower LA

The Dame was delighted to receive a copy of a letter sent to Cllr Tim Coleridge expressing fulsome praise for the help and encouragement Tim C had given tenants.
Imagine such a letter of gratitude being sent to Cllr Moylan....
Well done , Tim Coleridge...that is the sort of proaction that is a credit to you and the Council

Dear Cllr Coleridge,
Thank you for your email dated 27th February 2012. Please accept on behalf of the GTLA, our heartfelt gratitude for your commitment you have shown for the community, it is quite exceptional.  NOW we have to make it a reality for Grenfell Tower because it’s an emergency and necessity.
The Chief Executive of the K&CTMO, Mr Robert Black, has indicated his sincere commitment to have strong working relationship with us and we very much welcome that.  The K&CTMO/other sub-agents have to build the trust of the residents of LWE.
Also please accept my sincere apology for mistakenly sending the previous email to the councillors Dalton and I.Hanham, who have sadly passed away. I am sure they will be always remembered for their devotion to serve the community they loved.
With Best Wishes,
Mr Tunde Awoderu
The Vice Chairman
The Grenfell Tower Leaseholder’s Association

Sunday Times on the Good Life and Danny 'Boys' Moylan

London politics is a rich life. You just have to look at our 'businessman' Pootin Cockell to see that.
After years in the job Pootin won't move on. Why?.... Simple answer.. it's £130,000 a year.
Prior to hitting the local government jackpot, Pootin struggled to make end meet at his-now defunct- import/export business. Situated in an  unsalubrious basement under the Conservative Association offices in Chelsea Manor Street, Pooter and his partner sold odds, sods and cigs into West Africa: hardly, a prestige head office for the multinational trading concern he boasted of running!
But in the Sunday Times today we find that Pooter is not alone.
The Dame's old friend, Cllr Danny 'Boys'Moylan is featured in an article headlined, " Boris's Top Team Laps Up The Good Life"

Danny 'Boys', who has a very pretty pad in Thailand, is shown to be earning £121,000 a year doing four days a week as deputy chairman of Transport for London.

Moylan..pretty pad in Thailand
He is also collecting £10,500 a year as a RBK&C councillor for Queensgate so one assumes his RBK&C duties are just a day a week: a fair assumption-as The Sunday Times say that he has three more directorships with Glanmore Investments and two associated ventures. It seems the property fund would really have wiped out the Dame's little portfolio!!

Performance of the underlying Glanmore Property Fund
Total Return % *
Last 12 Months -16.65%
Last 2 Years -19.82%
Last 3 Years -66.48%
Last 4 Years -83.76%
Last 5 Years -83.00%
Since Launch -56.33%
Compound Annual Return -5.46%

Oh, yes she forgot...he is also a member of the London Waste and Recycling Board.

Some suggest Moylan might try try to return as RBK&C leader-should Boris fall under one of his buses' or fail to beat Ken. That would be the stuff of nightmares.
Moylan is a bullyboy. RBK&C councillors should remember that the Cockell administration has reduced the Council to the status of a laughing stock. Replacing him with Moylan would do great and  further damage.
Local Government guru and LSE professor, Tony Travers, suggests that these sorts of job tripling are not good practice, if they add up to a full time job. That appears to be the case with Mr Moylan.

Pootin May Give The Dame An SRA For Being In Opposition

Everybody wants to be wanted...none more so than the dear old Dame. Due to various rubbish share tips given by ex financial journalist and disgraced ex Mayor Phelps, the Dame has been hit by catastrophic losses to her little share portfolio.
Desperate to make ends meet, the Dame had an idea. Everybody is saying that the Dame is fast becoming a major opposition force so-somewhat impertinently, she put in a call to Pootin Cockell. "Pootin, The Dame is now a major opposition force; also I have to put up with you calling, at all hours of the day and night, for advice: I think I deserve one of your lovely Special Responsibility Allowances."

"Well, Dame" replied Pootin, "you have a point,  but I would have to make you an ex officio committee member. I will need to discuss it with my boss, Mr Myers. How much do you want?"

"Well, the ghastly Professor Coates has just got £40k and I would like the same"

Will Pootin do the decent thing and buy off  La Dame?

Will Pootin Give the Dame 'Hush Money?"

Baronessa Hanham of this parish says no to basement control

The Dame picked up this comment on basement issues in her preferred mag, The New Civil Engineer.
Many a happy hour has been passed by the Dame reading this informative little organ.
Joan and friends 'lording it up'
What a surprise to find in the latest issue old friend, Baronessa Hanham, pontificating on the perennial issue of basement excavation. According to Joan(yes, we are on very matey terms) there is no need of national legislation and these matters can be dealt with at a local council level.
One of the reasons Joan's government may prefer not to introduce legislation stopping 'basement scooping' is that many of those who dig into subterraneum London are major Conservative Party donors, living in £20 million properties....
It really is time Joan was moved out to pasture and someone like young Greenhalgh moved up to the Lords to replace her. She makes just the silliest possible observation when she remarks that most basements don't have visual impact! Joan dear, that really misses the point

Long Live Portobello..... Save us all from All Saints' appalling shopfront

The Dame About To Bargain hunt in Portobello
We all love Portobello...especially the Dame; she loves to pick up a bargain or two, so she implores you all to
attend yet another PLANNING COMMITTEE Meeting  @ 6 for 6.30pm on Tues 6th March @ Kensington Town Hall W8 (opp Ken High St station behind the shops). This latest (3rd) retrospective application for the shop front is truly appalling. RBKC Planning again recommends the Committee to grant permission. If granted, applicants will withdraw their Appeal - preventing a Planning Inspector seeing Travesty Terrace. Everyone please attend. Bring friends & family! Your presence makes all  the difference. LONG LIVE PORTOBELLO!"

"Mind Your Own Business Mr Pickles" says Mr Myers RBK&C& H&F Chief Exec

Happy Myers-a  £265k a year man
In a Daily Mail in a Pickles article the Secretary of State whines on about vast Council chief executive salaries. Pickles is the boy who cries wolf-no one takes a blind bit of notice of him. He really is a vast waste of space: even the lowly Mr Myers ignores him.
Pooter boasts he deals with Pickles on a daily basis so one would have thought Pickles might take him aside and suggest Derek Myers, our ex social worker Chief   Executive, gives up a little of his gross £265,000 a year salary.
That scourge of the wasteful ways of the Rotten Borough, Mr Downes, has forwarded to the Dame a letter sent to Malcolm Rifkind by Myers. It covers, amongst other things, Chief Executive salaries.
This is how Mr Myers put down Mr Pickles....
Mr Myers said "Mr Pickles had no authority to determine Chief Executive salaries as they are local employment contracts"

In others words..."mind your own business!'
PLEASE  Mr Myers!

Cockell, 5 MPG Bentleys and Climate Change

The Dame has just received this missive from a unit within RBKC. She had no idea the unit existed and it's existence should now be the stuff of serious debate. It is not the role of the Council to gather unto itself yet more responsibilities best left to other climate change agencies. We are seeing front line services demolished, yet this non essential service survives and flourishes. The Dame has noticed the letter comes the Climate Change Programme Officer working in the Rotten Borough's Climate Change Programme Office and who, one assumes, reports to a Senior Climate Change Director, who is assisted by a number of Climate Change Programme Managers. Liason Officers and Support Executives, advised by an Climate Change Programme Consultant, instructed by a Climate Change Programme Training Co-ordinator and overseeen by a Climate Change Programme
Inspector, monitored by..... The Dame has to stop:she has come over all dizzy.

Leading by example is what residents need to see. The purchase of the 5 MPG £115,000 Bentley and the running of gas guzzling Jaguar tells us all we need to know about the Leader's cynical view of 'saving the planet'. It is a sort of 'do as I say: not as I do.
It might also help if the Town Hall stopped leaving lights on until late evening. We know that no one works there much after 6.00pm.

As the ghastly ex mayor Phelps was prone to say....'you could not make it up'
The Rotten Borough style of 'planet saving'

Dear Residents’ Association

The Council is holding a Climate Change Event to coincide with Climate Week (12 March to 18 March 2012). The event will take place in the car park of Ladbroke Grove Sainsbury’s on Thursday 15 March 2012, from 10:00am until 4.00pm

The event aims to showcase practical ways people can combat climate change by reducing their carbon footprints through improving the energy efficiency of their homes.

We will be providing a range of tips and advice on how to reduce your energy consumption and save money and will be showing the simple gadgets available to help.  There will also be a prize draw with some energy saving gadgets, as well as other goodies.

We are keen to encourage as many residents to attend the event as possible and we would like your help to promote the event to local residents.  I have attached a poster for the event which we hope you will be able to display or distribute.

If you would like to find out more about the event, or request some leaflets or posters please contact me via email on xxxxx or phone me directly on xxxxxx

Yours faithfully

No Show Roe

Phillipa Roe, WCC's new leader refuses to show her 'manifesto' to the people. It makes a mockery of her claim in today's Standard which went, "My approach is a collegiate approach, it's an open approach and I want to listen to what residents, businesses and everybody else involved with the city really want." Yet she hides her manifesto from prying eyes....

The Dame has a feeling that 'No Show' Roe talks utter rubbish. Were she sincere in her claim she would have not have forced Paul Dilmondenberg to put out this statement. Roe is guilty by association in that she was avid in her support of BarrowBoy and Boy Rowley and their mad parking scheme.
Sad really, Glynis Roberts would really have been the right choice: she feels the pulse of  the people, whereas Miss Roe just adores the sound of her irritating voice.

Backed The Parking Strategy
Westminster’s Labour Councillors have called on new Council Leader Phillipa Roe to make her leadership election manifesto public so that residents can see the promises that she has made to her 47 Conservative colleagues, the only Westminster residents who were allowed to take part in Wednesday evening’s election.

Labour say that Councillor Roe’s secret 10-page glossy leaflet should be made public following her narrow 26 vote to 22 vote victory. It is reported that the election leaflet was marked “not subject to the Freedom of Information Act”, raising suspicions that its contents are intended to remain secret from the public.

Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg, Leader of the Labour Group, said;

“Councillor Roe is to be congratulated on winning the Leadership but she must now make her election promises public so that Westminster’s 250,000 residents who were excluded from any involvement in this election can see for themselves what she has promised. “

“Councillor Roe promises that her door “will be open to Conservative backbenchers”, but what about everyone else? It is scarcely credible that in 2012 Westminster Conservatives can be operating like a secret society with Conservative Councillors the only ones who have access to the power and influence wielded by Westminster Council.”
