The Dame is getting quite a few messages from unlikely supporters suggesting that Cllr Taylor-Smith is beginning to stand out as a good chap who listens and wants to get things done.
One supposes that it might have something to do with having a business background and an impatience with the inefficient ways of local government.
If he carries on like this he might end up being nominated for the much treasured and lusted after, 'The Dame's Award for Integrity'.
The only bar might be his haircut...or lack of it.
He knows the Dame disapproves for he has mentioned her rude comments about it.
Come on, Kim...Mr. Schumi has promised to look after your locks on a pro bono basis. Give him a call!
Alternatively, for council meetings, the 'Man Bun': elegant and very King's Rd.
The Dame is right. Serious politicians need to look their age. Its time for KTS to drop the "poor man's Georgie Best" image
ReplyDeleteThat is unfair, KTS has lovely hair, which many men over 50 do not. His hair should remain on his head as long as he likes for as long as he likes!
ReplyDeletePerhaps that his what makes him better than the others, the non-conformist side to his character, why try to put him in a box? would you prefer he had a hair cut like Dr Quirk? Accept people for who they are.
Would you feel comfortable if the Queen adopted a punk hairstyle with rainbow colours?
DeleteThink about what would be going on in her head and the possible impact on her behaviour. As an individual she is entitled to be a punk - but the Queen should not be a punk.
@Understanding Person - your example is a simple extreme and not relevant, try thinking more creatively
DeleteThe Dame will never compromise her principles. Her hideous nephew, Ludo and 'mate' of Cllr Palmer now 'sports' something called a 'man bun'. Could this be a solution if Cllr. Kim is overly proud of his hair?
ReplyDeleteMany people think that Kim would be a powerful and impressive leader.
ReplyDeleteThe reality of power must be coming home to roost for dizzy. Now two people seem to be trying to displace her. Long haired Kim and double dipper Pascall.
ReplyDeletePascall looks the part but is rather dim. Kim does not look the part but seems to have some "oomph".
Pascall needs the cash, Kim may not be so stretched.
Kim could be a viable leader so long as he doesn't lose his common touch.
ReplyDeleteNever hear anything from our leader - just bad PR. From observation she has no presence at all.
Having spoken to Pascal, don't think he could the job, wasn't even sure he knew what day it was.
Maybe Kim is a big enough personality to carry off his long hair in a leadership position. Jomo Kenyatta did with his fly swat. The Marquis of Bath, with his wifelets, pony tail and starved cat in Hillgate Village does not - he is an eccentric joke.
DeleteKindly focus on approach and achievements and leave the hair out of it!
ReplyDeletePersonal comments are offensive and upsetting. Many stories tell us how simple personal comments can destroy peoples lives.
Please do better!
Oh, do shut up....bore
Delete@15:28 = Bully
DeleteMan up!
DeleteKTS hair is entertaining but the Dame is reporting on his 'integrity' and 'willingness to get things done'. On this KTS could demonstrate these qualities by showing his commitment to the sustainable future of Wornington Road College and resolve the issue of the iniquitous lease on the building - held by RBKC and set up in very dubious circumstances. Without resolving the rent on the lease which will kick in next year - Wornington college will struggle to survive. KTS could talk it over with Heinz during a rug rethink!
ReplyDeleteInteresting that the Westminster Council is also bringing ALMO back in-house.
ReplyDelete"Kim Taylor-Smith, deputy leader of Conservative-led RBKC wrote a letter to housing minister Kit Malthouse requesting the authority be given the powers to seize empty stock in the borough and use it for social tenants."
ReplyDeletehttps://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6246937/Grenfells-Tory-council-echoes-Corbyn-demands-powers-SEIZE-multi-million-pound-homes.html
I fail to see how tonsorial deportment is relevant?
ReplyDeleteIf he is satisfied with it, FAIR ENOUGH!
EINSTEIN, many academics, & noted musicians tend to sport longer hair + a sign of being a free thinker?
What is important is to be a person of INTEGRITY!
As long as a Councillor has NO Conflicts of Interest linked to Housing, whether Estate Agency and/or other property business connectivity?
Re taking ALMO back in-house - EXCELLENT IDEA!
Re Seizing Empty housing Stock, if housing blocks have been vacated for an unreasonable period of time, very often that is indicative of Property Speculation, Money Laundering, Corrupt Activity, Tax Avoidance.
Which conveniently segues in to the Leader of the Council [Cllr. Elizabeth Campbell] holding a property in the "Crown Dependency" (CD) of the Isle of Man, a noted Offshore Finance Centre/Tax-Haven outside the UK but within the British Isles and thereby offering an opportunity to take advantage of opaque property, corporate and trust registries, potentially offering lucrative pecuniary benefit?
