    This is just too dreadful. More evidence that RBKC is a morally bankrupt administration. Self serving Councillors who pay themselves over the going rate and do not answer residents' emails.

    This is a powerful bench marking analysis by the Tax Payers Alliance. Grenfell Action Group take note: more evidence of a lost and greedy Town Hall to be presented to the inquiry.

      Serious troughing in the Royal Borough started with disgraced ex Cllr Merrick Cockell. As a Leader with social ambitions and kids at private school he was feeling the pinch. So he got himself elected to the Local Government Association. And the LGA did a study. The study said that Councillor Allowances were too low. WAY too low. This was the signal for the Leader of K&C (the same Cllr Cockle) to boost allowances in Hornton Street into the stratosphere, including £70k for himself.

      And then there was the other pay off. Allowances were so huge, and the number of posts qualifying were so many, that Cockle became a wheeler dealer of patronage. He had the Council in his grubby little fingers.

    If the Leader has any nouse she would have realised the insensitivity and sheer stupidity of gorging on the taxpayers at a time like this. Come on, Mills, make your move and clear out the Augean Stables

    According to the Tax Payers Alliance, the average Councillor Allowance is £4k per year. K&C pays our Councillors £11k per year. Why?

      At a party fundraiser for her own re-election, she took money from the door (without asking) to pay her children to be waiters. Those on the RH Committee were appalled; she has yet to pay it back.

    £1000 per week buys seriously qualified and experienced people in the open market. A two bit Sloane Ranger with a holiday home in the Isle of Whyte has no business taking this kind of money from council tax payers

      Dizzy is in love with two things. Her allowance and her media appearances. She is now transfixed by Grenfell and does nothing else. All of her Leadership duties in Hornton Street are neglected. Grenfell is getting her more interviews on radio and TV than anything else could. So this is what she does!

      Hornton Street is the Cabinet and dizzy's "London Club".

      A good London Club costs £1600/year. Dizzy gets paid £60k per year plus free meals.
