GIVE BORIS A ROCKET ON GUY FAWKES NIGHT

Look forward to a rash of puerile Guy Fawkes jokes from Mayor Johnson.
On 5th of November, Johnson heads west to give locals the chance to interrogate him over housing, jobs, policing, transport etc.
But just don't let him bluster away.....

It seems that many attendees will be tearing into Boris over his determination to wreck Earls Court...
Assembly condemns Mayor’s role in demolition of Earls Court
9 October 2013
The London Assembly today condemned the Mayor’s decision to approve the redevelopment of Earls Court which it warned would mean the unnecessary demolition of the exhibition centres, the West Kensington and Gibbs Green housing estates and threaten 550 jobs at the Lille Bridge tube depot.
Assembly Members backed a motion[1] describing the plan as a grave mistake and urging the Mayor, when deciding future planning applications on major regeneration projects, to ensure that he gives proper consideration to the full economic, social and environmental implications of the plan.
It also called on Transport for London, a major landholder on site, not to enter a joint venture until there is resolution on these hugely important outstanding issues.
The motion also criticised the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government for refusing to call in the application for a public inquiry.

Readers will have many more so add them via the comments page. But here are some starters....

1. If Boris Island is dead in the water why do you need a part time, unqualified, 2 day a week, £75,000 a year Aviation Adviser

2. If we are living in tough times why are you paying Daniel Moylan £150,000 a year, making him the highest paid UK councillor

3. What is your view on basement developments and do you agree with your sister that they should be severely controlled

THE CLEANSING WINDS OF CHANGE

Paget-Brown
Coleridge

OK....the Dame may be getting boring but the Dame always
likes sharing the opinion of WorkedatRBKC.

Just last evening I was having dinner with some former
colleagues who work at Hornton Street.

They assured me that the winds of change are beginning
to blow steadily under the new regime.

Things are being reviewed thoroughly and
nothing is being taken for granted by the two Nicks.

The detractors are of course those who would have preferred
jobs for the (Danny) boys and further corruption, probably
enough of it to make Pooter a blessed memory rather than
what he is now which is rather a cursed one.

Have both confidence and patience.

QATARIS TO EDUCATE US ON GAY RIGHTS

SHEIKHA LECTURES BORIS ON GAY RIGHTS
Grovelling to moneymen is something our Mayor excels at.
Take his greasing up to the Qataris.
He has just had a 'meet up' with a whole troupe of Qataris anxious to show off their liberal ways.
A pity those liberal ways don't extend to their country's treatment of gay people.
A recent press report indicates that the Gulf States intend to 'medically check' visitors to ensure they are not gay.
Has this offended the Mayor? Not in the least.
What a hypocrite with his affectedly silly hairstyle.....
And did Boris bring up the touchy subject with the Sheikha?..
Silly thought: he would never dare. And yet,he allows the Qataris to lecture us on their views of education...
Don't imagine our Aviation Adviser will be allowed to visit Doha anytime soon.

RBK&C FUNDING FESTIVAL BACKED BY GAY HATING QATAR AND OTHER ARAB STATES

Interesting to read that the NOUR festival is supported by Arab states which persecute and discriminate against gay people. And we, RBK&C taxpayers, are aligned with countries like Qatar in supporting the Festival....

RBKC TAXPAYERS PAY FOR MIDDLE EAST FESTIVAL....WHY?

Pumping taxpayers' money into the Nour Festival when resources are stretched to breaking point is wrong.
It is interesting to note the festival content makes no mention of the persecution of women, gay people, oppression of non Islamic religions and denial of democracy....issues the Middle East and North Africa are so noted for.

Anyone who has visited Qatar will have a good laugh at the idea that it has a Year of Culture: a less cultured place would be hard to find...as exemplified by the young Al Thani offsprings who make life for London residents hell as they race around our streets.
This festival may not cost the earth, but it has no relevance to this Borough, sends out the wrong message....and wastes our money to no purpose.

THE BASEMENT PARTY GATHERS PACE

THE SOURCE OF DISCONTENT
Our once tranquil Royal Borough is now a scene of fevered construction. No sooner has one massive basement been completed than another starts.
An it's not just the constant noise, dust and traffic obstruction...residents are complaining about severe structural issues affecting their properties...a direct result of these massive intrusions into the London subsoil.

So serious is the problem that residents talk about putting up single issue anti basement candidates at the next election.

The Dame would like to know more about this new residents first type initiative......

THE BORIS GRAVY TRAINS NON EXECS COST LONDONERS £800,000 PLUS A YEAR

BORIS & GRAVY TRAIN
Flashing around large amounts of our money on legions of 'advisers' is a defining feature of Johnson's character. Symptomatic of this is the number of  ' hangers on' he has appointed to Tfl and Crossrail.
And it is not just the numbers of non exec directors he has appointed, but the huge amounts he pays them in fees: fees equalling those paid to experienced non exec directors of big FTSE companies.
It really is jobs for the boys.....

Collectively Crossrail and Tfl cost Londoners well in excess of £800,000 a year in non exec fees, including expenses. And that doesn't even include the over supply of exec directors we have to fund....

Crossrail has circa seven non executive directors....a number not far short of the massive and highly profitable FTSE 100 company, Vodaphone. And the fees paid are not dissimilar. If you are a non exec director of Crossrail, like Daniel Moylan, whose only other two non exec posts are two failing property investment trusts, you can collect £40,000 a year plus expenses...and, of course, Danny Boys picks up another £24,000 from Tfl....£64,000 a year for a few days a month!

Tfl has some very distinguished bods, including Richard Barnes, a mere local councillor and renowned for the filthy 'selfies' he took of himself and posted on Facebook.
Then there is an old TUC hack, Brendan Barber. Brendan has a whopping pension from the Brothers, but tops it up with his nice little Tfl earner.
We have someone called Bill Oddy(not the comedian) but an ex cabbie, whose other claims to fame are unknown and Steve Wright, who runs a car hire company.....all picking up £24,000 a year, plus expenses for a day a month or so! Expect to see Pooter Cockell getting on board soon......

CADOGAN TO BRING APPLE TO DUKE OF YORK SQUARE

A PIECE OF CHELSEA HISTORY
Basement excavations are the bane of our lives.
When the Borough's largest and most powerful landlord, Cadogan, is seen surreptitiously slipping in a plan for a massive basement excavation under a Grade 2* listed former place of worship we need to be on our guard. The Council will be allowing a dangerous precedent to be set.
On October 4th this application is due to be heard, but as the plan involves a direct conflict with Council Core Strategy and English Heritage's rules on basements beneath listed buildings it is likely...and should be, deferred.
You can see the application here.
What is so wrong is the architect's distortion of the truth in claiming that there is already a basement in situ: there is not...unless you are sufficiently fickle with the truth to claim an eight foot square boiler room as a basement!
Come on Cadogan...you may be desperate to kick out Jigsaw and instate Apple, but don't take us for idiots.
You should be supporting residents against basement exploitation, not joining in.
