BRING DOWN STEPHEN WATSON!

Common touch

This is Stephen Watson, Chief Constable of Greater Manchester.

In short order, he moved GMC out of special measures.

He may not have a degree in criminology but he does have a high degree of leadership quality.

He comes from a service family used to the leadership of men.

Very different from the incumbent here in London, Mark Rowley...a genuine product of leftist and useless Common Purpose.

    1. At least Manchester police has improved its ratings for investigating crime and responding to the public in 2023-25.

  2. Policing in the UK is built on a foundation of trust and confidence allowing us to police our communities by consent. Our service provision must be, and must be seen to be, fair, free from discrimination and delivered with the highest level of professional standards. We know we have some way to go to ensure that our diverse communities - particularly those from Black backgrounds - feel that we deliver services fairly and equitably. We also know that we have more to do to ensure our workforce is more representative so that we can ensure we truly represent and understand the rich diversity of each our districts and the individual challenges they face. We also know that we have some employees who do not uphold the standards of behaviour we expect and do not share our values of integrity and commitment to inclusivity. We are proactively identifying these staff and are using all the powers we available to us to make sure they leave GMP’s employment. We do not deny people’s experiences and recognise that change is needed. We are grateful for the help and advice that members of the Greater Manchester Race Equality Panel, and other community groups and representatives are giving us to help shape our plans. However, it is by addressing these three areas that we will become an organisation that everyone can have trust and confidence in - irrespective of background, race or belief.

  3. Sadiq Khan is to meet with Mark Rowley tomorrow for an urgent meeting to discuss “community relations”. In theory, Khan can only sack Rowley with the permission of Cleverly. But he can get around that by sacking Rowley the way he got rid of Commissioner Dick.

    1. Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, Claire Coutinho, told GB News: "I can't speak for the conversations that the Home Secretary is going to have with some authority, but I would just remind everyone that the person who's got accountability for the London Met is the Labour London Mayor.’

    2. Why is this Tory bigging up the Labour Mayor?

  4. Perhaps they could try running a police force that has less rapists, criminals, racists and does some of that law enforcement stuff. I know that’s completely insane but we could give that a go…

    1. Lord John Mann said: “I think the idea that Sir Mark Rowley should resign is nonsense and I also think it’s dangerous. He’s the foremost expert we have on policing and counter-terrorism in the country and the biggest single threat, in my view, and my advice to government is this as well, about terrorists and terror attacks, we need him there.”

    2. Is His Lordship the son of a Duke, Marquess? No, he is Lord Mann, a time served Labour MP who gets a free pass to the Lords and £45k a year. The streets of London are terrifying but his 'expertise; in counter terrorism seems to be of no avail!

    3. Lord John Mann is the current Conservative government's Independent Adviser on Antisemitism https://antisemitism.org.uk/lord-mann/

    4. And? What expertise does that give him to spout on Rowley

    5. So, being the Independent Government Advisor on Antisemitism isn’t good enough to have a view?

    6. Sure, like all of us he can have a view

  6. Greater Manchester Police chief Stephen Watson, who unexpectedly reopened the investigation into Angela Rayner's addresses, spoke at the last Tory conference. Twelve officers are said to be looking at the allegations about Angela Rayner.

    1. Many senior police officers have doubtless spoken at Labour conferences. I suppose you are saying that Watson is in the pocket of the Tories...Big Yaaawn

    2. 22:54 ‘Big Yaaawn’ who likes to ‘suppose’. The meaning of my post was as I wrote it: Stephen Watson did SPEAK at the last Tory conference. He did UNEXPECTEDLY reopen the investigation into Angela Rayner and TWELVE officers are said to be looking at the allegations.

    3. 22:54 who likes to ‘suppose’ … the Dame wrote (above): ‘Mark Rowley … a genuine product of leftist’ - a ’Big Yaaawn’?

The Dame wrote: ‘Mark Rowley … a genuine product of leftist’.

22:54 IS CRITICAL OF THE DAME by writing the mixture of a police office in politics as a ’Big Yaaawn’.

  7. I am seriously worried about the far right on the other side of the GE. I am predicting something big going down. Capitol Hill UK style. Try going to the express coverage of Tommy Robinson march in London.... the comments section is terrifying. https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1906115/london-protests-gaza-palestine-israel-tommy-robinson
