It has conned RBK&C, the police and other government bodies into believing it is a cosy 'not for profit' enterprise:in fact, it's backed by fearsome US venture capitalists mad keen to make money out of the lonely and gullible.
Here are just a few of those VCs about to make millions out of the 'people next door'.
Benchmark, Shasta Ventures, Greylock Partners, Kleiner Perkins, Riverwood Capital, Bond, Axel Springer, Comcast Ventures and others.
Many complaints centre around the way Nextdoor harvests personal information without consent and sells that information. It's done by feeding the naive that Nextdoor is some sort of caring community initiative: in reality, it's just a ruthless money-grubbing American outfit with no soul.
Well-meaning residents of the Royal Borough don't realise that they are the victims of one enormous con trick.

ReplyDeleteThis is very worrying. Next Door has been endorsed by RBKC and the local Police who both use the site extensively to broadcast information.
