YOU CAN SAVE THE ROYAL BROMPTON HOSPITAL:SIGN THE PETITION

The Dame says,

"Cllr Ian Henderson has fought like a Highlander to save the Sutton estate and has done an amazing job fighting those rogues trying turn a housing association into a property developer.
The Royal Brompton Hospital must be relieved to see that Ian has taken up the vital cause of saving the Royal Brompton. We should all sign his petition"

The Royal Brompton Hospital is a world-renowned hospital and an integral part of the famed science/health Chelsea hub.

The NHS Executive has decided to stop commissioning children’s heart services from the Royal Brompton, despite acknowledging its history of providing safe and exceptional care in this area. The hospital has now given up on retaining the Fulham Road site and is planning to transfer all of its services to a site at St Thomas Hospital, funded by selling off its very valuable site. We believe this to be a retrograde step which will seriously damage the excellent services for which the Brompton is well known.
Two trusts - Imperial Healthcare (which runs St Mary’s, Charing Cross and Hammersmith hospitals), and the Chelsea and Westminster - are pursuing an alternative plan. This aims to keep all Brompton services in North West London, but split them over several sites.

Either of the proposed plans would begin to unravel the integrated and highly successful medical facilities now available along the Fulham Road and end any prospect of retaining a world-leading science/health hub in Chelsea.

  1. Good God how many times has this come up . Time to stop using Chelsea as a property developers 'hedge ' and start giving the locals a breather from over development in the area . Basements , Thamesbrook,(Jonny Sanderson allegedly ) ,Chelsea Houseboats, Sutton Estate and many more. Time for the stripping of the area to stop . We do not want a Chelsea 'Ghost' Village .

  6. A very important cause to save the Brompton. Our late MP, Victoria Borwick, has been fighting this corner for many many months and good to see that reinforcements are arriving. None too soon

Good to hear that our former MP Victoria Borwick is doing something about this important issue. The Hospital is in constituency of Greg Hands MP. What is he doing about this- no doubt siding with monied interests.

    2. Now hang on a minute, "Good on yer Victoria." Some of the constituents of Emma Dent-Coad MP will be attending the Brompton. What's she doing about it?

    1. The NHS in central west London (Kensington, Chelsea, Westminster, Hammersmith & Fulham) is to receive the lowest cash growth in the country in 2019-20 to 2023-24. The three biggest CCG losers in allocations are to be: NHS West London CCG; NHS Central London (Westminster); and, NHS Hammersmith & Fulham.

  8. We need Henderson to be the MP for Kensington. He sorts things out. He would sort things out for Grenfell survivors. He achieved much before he got on the Council. Just imagine what he would achieve if he were MP.

  9. Henderson is a popular local man. Henderson for MP.

  10. Separate from Royal Brompton services being located and the lowest uplift in our local NHS CCG allocations, there was another major piece of bad news in December.

The NHS is north west London want to carry out a reconfiguration of services costing in excess of £500m (part of 'Shaping a Healthier Future'). In July, they applied for £260m capital funding. The Department of Health and Social Care has not approved the bid. This is now the second time the DHSC has setback the half-billion reconfiguration plan | This HSJ article is behind a paywall https://www.hsj.co.uk/second-setback-for-half-billion-reconfiguration-plan/7024011.article

    1. The NHS in our local area is losing out in terms of new resources. It would be sensible for local politicians and local NHS managers/clinicians to work better with each to fight for resources.

    2. To reiterate: Local politicians and local NHS managers/clinicians need to work better with each to fight for resources (rather than in fight) in North West London. Here is another example to show our local area is losing out on resource allocation:

The 'big losers' cited include: Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust; Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust; Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust; and, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust).
