Wolstan Dixie sent out this warning and it should be read with care and attention who thinks the battle against the Buccleuch has been won. READ HERE PLEASE
Thank you, Wolstan
Somehow, the Buccleuch's have managed to persuade the Director of Planning, Amanda Reid, that foisting this monstrosity on London residents is acceptable.
Reid has deliberately ignored the wishes of tens of thousands of residents who pay her £160,000 a year salary plus platinum-plated pension.
She should consider her position....her interests seem unaligned with residents who love their places of charm and beauty.
God knows what damage she has encouraged in her previous jobs....
This is an utter dis grace Your Grace......
ReplyDeleteYou are positioned as a patron of the arts and a steward of the nation's heritage but you want to build this monstrosity in our borough - perhaps you would like something similar built in front of Drumlanrig or in Dalkeith Country Park or opposite Boughton - I doubt it because it isn't contextually appropriate - so why try to force this ugly thing in the middle of a world class conservation area ? Come on Richard, what on earth are thinking ? This isn't what we expect from a man of your impeccable taste... if funds are required perhaps sell the Rembrandt ? ( readers who are not aware should google the 'My Rembrandt' documentary )
As for Sue Foster - WTF ? ! Again RBKC in the best traditions of it own unique brand of local 'governance' ignoring the population of the Borough and cosying up to developers....you work for US not THEM.
Sue Foster's previous jobs were in boroughs with plenty of towers and possibly less to protect, so maybe she doesn't have relevant experience.
ReplyDeleteIt is a mystery how a person of Foster's limited ability gets appointed to the top Planning job in the Royal Borough.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the appointment process is, here we have more evidence that dizzy Campbell is asleep on the job. Its time for her Conservative colleagues to elect an alternative Leader. Cllr Campbell never was, and never will be, up to the job.
The young Tory Councillors mostly have minds of their own. They need to get shot of Cllr Campbell.
DeleteThere needs to be a debate on the Hornet about who should succeed as Leader of RBKC. Cllr Mills has announced that she is stepping down at the election next year - a pity because she understands leadership, has empathy with North Kensington, and a proven track record in Hornton Street. And great respect from her fellow Councillors - even the Labour Councillors.
