Above is the Leader of Hammersmith & Fulham, Cllr Cowan.
When the Dame first saw a picture of the leader she was minded of one of her thuggish deckhands on her classic steam yacht. What a dreadful-looking fellow....so coarse!
Anyway, it seems that Cllr Cowan, like our own Pooter Cockell, clings on to power and his £50k a year allowance like grim death and has done so for many years.
Cowan likes to rule through fear and loathing and that might account for the sheer awfulness of his council.
Thank you, dear reader, for alerting the Dame to this HORROR STORY
He does look like a thug. A really unpleasant piece of work.
ReplyDeleteStill looks nasty.....
ReplyDeleteSome background context on this case which implicates RBKC. Btw since when did personal appearance indicate policy?

Certain people have a "look". Cowan has this "look". And almost always that "look" is attached to a bully, an incompetent, and a self obsessed calamity.
ReplyDeleteIs there a story here? You don't like how someone looks? Nothing to see here then.
ReplyDeleteWho gives a flying F!!!!k what you think
DeleteCowan still looks a nasty piece of work
DeleteThose on the political left are obsessed with control. Where would the Hammersmith Labour Party be withouts its power struggle? Kensington and Chelsea Labour saw off their Leader, Miss Dent Coad, in a power struggle a while ago.
ReplyDeleteMy partner worked for LB Hammersmith and Fulham council for a while and has spoken to me of her deeply unpleasant experience there. Cowan is a habitual bully. It was well known that if he took a dislike to someone they could very likely become one of the 'overnight-disappeared'. Councillors, apparently, weren't much better with their obsessive controlling and vanity. However, the infectious toxicity spread through all ranks of the council and interactions between many staff were often unpleasant - not least, and most seriously, manifested in incidents of physical intimidation and bullying that were often swept under the carpet by management. Nasty place.
ReplyDeleteWhen the workplace becomes poisoned by the behaviour of a Leader, the only solution is to replace him or her
