Well done RBKC....A sensible and well-thought-through decision.
Pollution generator
Resisting the bullying by TfL with their biased 'research' and threats is what we expect of a strong and resilient council so well done RBKC
Everyone can ignore Pat Mason amusingly described as like a drying machine going round and round and producing a lot of hot air.
Cycle routes are important but not on a main drag like Kensington High St creating standstill traffic and the very worst kind of idling pollution.
Good thinking by the Council to find sensible and alternative ways to accommodate cyclists...SAFELY
RBKC took the correct decision and should be congratulated. The feedback I have is that the TfL 'research' was a complete fabrication(most 'consultation' tends to be.) 'Residents' were dredged up from even outside the Borough whilst some questioned were misled by ICM who tailored the questions to get the results they wanted.
ReplyDeleteCommon sense first and last. The local residents need access to the High Street, and disabled local residents and shops need access for pickup and deliveries.Thank you to common sense at last
ReplyDeleteExcellent outcome! Well done! Forward thinking at its best No cycle lane but instead a parking lane for lazy residents who do not seem to understand or care about pollution and the enviroment
ReplyDeleteAll I ever saw was an empty cycle lane and queues of cars, lorries spewing out deadly gasses whilst idling and crawling along. Is that what you want?
DeleteTfL are a shanbles
ReplyDeleteHaving dialed into the Leadership Meeting to listen to the presentations and discussion, residents need to be alert to the shambles that calls itself an organisation in Hornton Street. The huge mess should never have come about. The pointless papers, hot air and scribble were a job creation formula for Officers. Huge amounts of valuable time of residents, Resident Associations and Councillors used up to engage with incompetence and failed Leadership in the Town Hall. A salutary lesson to listen to Cllr Weale addressing the meeting. The contribution from the airhead was "as a cycle rider I enjoyed the cycle lane. And long ago we learnt that consultations should not be carried out in a month that includes an l". And this person is the Cabinet Member responsible for Finance!! You could not make it up
ReplyDeleteCllr Weale has a chateau in France and needs her allowances to maintain it.Leave the gal alone!
ReplyDeleteI heard that she is trying to sell the house in France
DeleteCllr Weale, RBKC Cabinet Member for Finance, likes to refer to her Chateau at dinner parties in her small Earls Court house. Those in the know have seen a small and run down house in the cheapest area of France. In the middle of nowhere and not a river in sight. It has been on the market for 3 years and the bird brain Cabinet Memebr has yet to figure out that she needs to pay someone to take it off her hands. Otherwise she will have it for another 10 years.
DeleteCllr Weale is a walking liability
DeleteCllr Weale is not the person who should be looking after our money. Dizzy made ANOTHER error of judgement by appointing her friend Mary as Cabinet Member for Finance
