The sad part is that it is the established political groups...Labour, Conservative, Lib Dems and Advance who have been actively working with survivors: the RCG have done nothing except use the tragedy to further a tired, divisive and old-fashioned political agenda.
One resident involved with helping survivors commented,
RGG SHAMELESSLY EXPLOITING A TRAGEDY |
They also heckled Emma Dent Coad MP for being “a collaborator” at a recent demonstration outside the Town Hall."

ReplyDeleteYou are confusing your communist sects. This is the Communist Party of Great Britain, not the Revolutionary Communist Group. Just don't ask me to explain the difference, cos I don't know!
ReplyDeleteKill them all and let God decide
ReplyDeleteI am a member of the Reformed Rational Revolutionary Communist Group of Great Britain. We have no connection with the RPG. We hold Mao as being the great inspiration for the worker struggle.
ReplyDeleteIs EDC a member or the Revolutionary Workers Party? Dame we must be told.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that Councillor Emma Dent Coad MP was heckled outside the Town Hall. The survivors have woken up to her agenda.
DeleteBeing heckled by the RCP is a badge of honour
DeleteIt was not a "badge of honour" when Labour Councillors SACKED Councillor Emma Dent Coad MP as leader of the opposition group on the Council. It was humiliating for her to be sacked by her own.
DeleteBeing heckled by GRENFELL TOWER SURVIVORS cannot be construed a "badge of honour" by any stretch of the imagination.
Jeremy Corbyn would be very concerned to hear one of Emma Dent Coad's cronies pass off being heckled by the RCG as a badge of honour. Jeremy Corbyn was arrested in 1984 on the South African Embassy Picket Campaign organised by City of London Anti Apartheid Group and leading lights from the RCG.
DeleteHow did we end up with Labour foisting Emma on us. Grenfell people are disappointed with her.
DeleteTo be heckled by left wingers is the ultimate insult for the self assured and ever so strategic EDC.
DeleteJeremy Corbyn is a sad little middle middle class wanker aided by the upper class Wykhamist and Balliol man, Milne.
DeleteOf course, these working class Johnnies need us posh gits to tell them what to do
Emma spent 4 years on the TMO. Council tenants were no better off. Will her constituents be any better off at the end of this parliament?
DeleteWill the writer of this article tell us how Emma Dent Coad MP has "collaborated" with the Council over Grenfell Tower?
DeleteYou will have to ask the Revolutionary Communist Party. It was their heckle, not mine. I thought it was a badge of honour for Emma.
DeleteYou mentioned the RCP/ RCG heckling Dent Coad. Shane you did not listen to what they were heckling. Goon on you for reporting that she was heckled.
DeleteWhat the heck- I did not say or report that Emma Dent Coad was heckled.
DeleteHi, I hope you Hornet readers will come to our launch party at Chelsea Town Hall.
ReplyDeleteWe are the Real Revolutionary Communist Party of Great Britain and we are putting up candidates in May. We don't have a manifesto yet but my boyfriend is working on it this weekend. Up the workers and down with all posh gits

ReplyDeleteDoes it actually matter who is speaking on behalf of the 'Survivors'? What is important is that the topic is kept in people's minds. The gig outside the tube station was well organised and attracted lots of interest. Particularly from those who have perhaps never been to the area (Portobello, only a few minutes away, is very busy on Saturdays). Many showed interest and signed a 'petition'. The posters were predominantly apolitical, for example, asking whether 'P-B is still on the payroll?' Perhaps he needs to be; as I doubt that his new company advising on 'modern-day extermination'(oops - regeneration), has attracted much interest. It is sad that the Commies have taken up the banner, but they should not be derider for it (I am no fan of them). Let's all unite to ensure that what the Cabinet hoped, that the pesky little fart will dissipate and business will be 'normal as usual', will NEVER happen.
ReplyDeleteProblem is the RCP put up a woman to speak at the last council meeting about an entirely fictional case that she claimed to have been assisting. This sort of behaviour - to denigrate the work being done to help survivors for political purposes, just detracts from the work that others are trying to do to assist real victims.
ReplyDelete11.51: a firn rebuttal should have been issued there and then, to negate the RCP case. Or, do it as quickly and publicly thereafter.
ReplyDeleteIts good if it keeps the sad topic in the news (without causing it too much damage in terms of public sympathy - but that depends on how the journalists frame the news).
ReplyDeleteHowever, there is a legal process in place where evidence is being assessed. I understand there are concerns that no-one directly impacted is on the panel. We need to learn the lessons from Hillsbrough.
So in the end, as horrible as this subversion is, and lets not forget all parties will spin the Grenfell story or try and use for political purposes, its noise/a distraction. Best not to give them oxygen
