SHELTERING MYERS

The idea of Mr Myers, Pooter Cockell's best mate, chairing

the Shelter Trustees Board has caused much ribald laughter

amongst his ex-colleagues at Hornton St.

Evidently Mr Myers thinks that he is on the road to a K....or

so he has told his chum Pooter.

Anyway, thank you, dear reader, for your perceptive

observation.....

"I trust the dame has seen the attached article from this week's excellent Private Eye magazine?

Isn't Shelter making Myers their chairperson like Barnados appointing Andrew Lamont as chief exec?!?"

BROMPTON WARD CLLR IN ATTACK ON PLANNING COMMITTEE

PRINCIPLED CLLR
Louis Mosley is less than happy with the efficiency of  Mr  Bore's planning department.
Fed up with the Planning Committee acting against the interests of residents he has resigned from the Committee with immediate effect.

More embarrassingly still, he vented his spleen in a fiery letter circulated to fellow councillors and residents.
TOYS OUT OF THE PRAM

The Dame would love to see a copy of the aforementioned letter.

PAGET-BROWN AND THE WINDS OF CHANGE

Nick Paget-Brown has a reputation for being a  hands on ward councillor, so the fact he is organising the below is no great surprise to the Dame. He has always been assiduous in getting involved and responding to concerns....unlike pompous Pooter!
What he needs to do now is kick the backsides of his colleagues who go out of their way to avoid any contact with those who have put them in power. The Dame is talking to you cllrs Warrick, Neale and Weale.
Well done, Nick....a great initiative.
Force your more indolent colleagues to follow your lead.

THE DAME ENGAGES IN 'BLUE SKY THINKING'...KICK OUT ROCK FEILDING MELLEN

ROCKY
The Dame is an naive old thing and politics are a mystery to her.
When sixteen year old Rock Feilding-Mellen impudently pushed himself forward as leader he was encouraged by Pooter Cockell and the 'youngsters' led by polo playing Quentin Marshall.

Pooter clearly thought some Downton style weekends would be coming his way.....courtesy of Rocky's stepfather....(sorry, Pooter you can't use the Bentley!)

In order to avoid the catastrophe of Danny Boys Moylan, Nick Paget-Brown, the Dame's choice, was forced to do a deal with Rocky.
Anyway, that boring old cliche about a week being a long time in politics serves us well here.

The grown ups....the two Nicks and Tim Coleridge are doing a workmanlike job redressing the damage done by Pooter and Danny Boys so maybe it's time Nick Paget-Brown flexed his muscles and told Rocky to step aside and make way for a grown up.
This would allow him to strengthen the top team by replacing him with Coleridge and others more capable than Rocky.

Boundary  changes and the pending departures of the young 'Bouji Buck' supporters, plus, Rocky's own lamentable performance to date mean he no longer has a power base. Chop him. Nick!

TWENTY MORE BASEMENTS PLANNED IN HASKER AND FIRST STREETS

It now appears that Chancery St James are planning to dig out considerably more basements than first envisaged.
They have applied for permission to dig out, in Phase 1, a total of 20 basements covering Hasker, Ovington and First Street's.

The Hasker and First Street applications are for one new basement level below Lower Ground Floor and are being done as Permitted Developments and therefore not subject to public consultation.

COMING TO YOUR QUIET STREET SOON
The applications for Ovington [which are listed buildings] are applying for basements below the garden.
In all cases Property Investments Chelsea [Chancery St James] are the investors.
As they own even more houses in these streets expect to find further excavations over the years.
The sheer volume of the excavations has serious implications for the water table  and surface water drainage.
As the foundations of these properties are weak we can expect some serious structural damage to nearby properies

EXFORD EXCAVATES FOR BIG BONUS....£300,000 PA COMING UP

Exford ...laughing all the way to the bank
Keith Exford is UK's highest paid property manager.
And he is not alone....
Housing Associations are supposed to be charities, but most of the 'charity' seems spent providing fat cat salaries and bonus schemes for the top people who run them.
The Dame is going to get her feckless nephew, Ludo, a job at Affinity Sutton

Our Keith is boss of Affinity Sutton, owners of the much loved Sutton Dwellings.
Keith plans to knock down this unique part of our Chelsea landscape making hundreds of millions at the expense of the happily housed tenants.
It's revelatory to see how much Keith and mates are paying themselves...bankers seem almost saintly by comparison!
Affinity Sutton refuses to say how Keith's performance bonus is calculated, so we are in the dark, as to how much Keith and mates will trouser IF their nasty, unwanted scheme gets the go ahead.
The locals groups are determined to put up their own Independent candidates and thus punish the Council if Keith gets his way.
If they do we could see the most welcome fall of Pooter Cockell; the Dracula lookalike, Paul Warrick and the weird Will Pascall....an idle trio... none of whom care about residents.

This is a worthy cause: the Dame will donate £200 to the Fighting Fund.
Booting out these three idlers will send a clear message....Respect residents by listening to them...or get booted out.....

AFFINITY SUTTON TO DEMOLISH SUTTON DWELLINGS IN THE HEART OF CHELSEA

When William Richard Sutton, an immensely generous London philanthropist died in 1901, he left what was then a vast fortune for the provision of model housing for those in need.
His legacy stands proudly in Chelsea as a testament to one man's vision and charity.
How would he feel about the Affinity Sutton and their greedy and exploitative plan to demolish the majority of this London landmark?
We can safely say he would be angered and shocked.

Affinity Sutton want to reduce the numbers of social housing units and flog off 137 on the open market.
The Dame will be checking out whether the Chief Executive of Affinity Sutton will be getting a bonus for flogging off these units.

LET RESIDENTS DECIDE

A ROYAL BOROUGH GEM
There is no better example of the misallocation of scant resources than the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.
The Dame recently paid a couple of visits:one to have her poor old ticker checked(bad luck, Pooter...it's in fine fettle) and it filled her with real pride.
The staff and their skills are second to none, yet even this piece of medical magnificence lacks certain vital medical equipment due to lack of money.

So how can it be that the thick end of £27 million can be spent on a mere road, yet Chelsea & Westminster has to rely on the Friends of the hospital(excellent local charity) to fund raise.
In the picture below you can see what happens when a leader looks to burnish his image with multi million pound idiocy.
Anyone who has been down Exhibition Rd will see that it's filthy and dangerous.

Localism is meant to be a way of devolving decisions on major local spending to residents.
But localism can only ever work if residents have control over how their money is spent. Left to councillors.... waste follows....

That applies as much to the £27 million Exhibition Rd, as the £100 million Holland Park School or the £1 million a year Opera Holland Park Opera.
Were residents given the option they would have scrapped Exhibition Rd saving £27 million and enforced the Government limit on new schools of £33 million, saving nearly £60 million on Holland Park School.
And OHP would have been told to find its own funding and stop leeching off the taxpayer.
The only way localism will work is by pushing councillors out of the way and letting local people decide...
