Dear Dame,
As a former member of the Labour Party, I thought I'd share the first result of the Kensington Parliamentary candidate selection results.
Instead of making a positive break from divisions and local infighting and picking a candidate with no "past form", members of the South Branch of the CLP instead obediently followed the orders of Emma Dent Coad and her whip Sina Lari (who pulls the strings in South Branch) and voted for Kasim Ali instead.
Perhaps some of them could have done with reading your blog?
Clearly, the fact that the Party Leadership prefers a Conservative turncoat of a weather vane politician who goes whichever way he feels the wind is blowing to anyone else shows that they lack any real positive vision towards both the future of the local Party as well as what is truly in the best interests of our electorate.
It's not as if they didn't have other and better options. Look at the candidate list:
Kasim Ali 19 19 19 20 21 * ELECTED *
Joe Powell 10 10 12 12 16
Mete Coban 8 8 8 11 (Eliminated)
Salman Sheik 4 4 4 (Eliminated)
Steve Cowan 2 2 (Eliminated)
Rita Begum 0 (Eliminated)
Perhaps a candidate who might offer a strong vision and voice both locally, nationally and internationally was too much for some people?
This isn't the end of the votes, the votes from North West and North East branch are yet to come next week. No doubt the few principled Labour members left can "look forward" to being harassed by "Emma's Barmy Army" into voting for Cllr Ali too
And where will this leave the Labour Group on the Council?
It would be interesting to know what Cllr Ali's plans are soon? When Emma Dent Coad was elected as MP she refused to leave RBKC and stayed on at Golborne, leaving the poorest ward on the council one councillor short with Pat Mason to do all the ward casework. Pat has left now, as have most of their experienced councillors, so residents cannot expect too much in the way of opposition or local representation nowadays and the situation is set to get worse.
Cllr Ali is not a bad councillor but his principles are questionable (as your blog has shown) and it is also questionable how much of a national voice for the constituency he will be.
Since EDC, Lari, Kear and the rest of the "Barmy Army" took charge, the CLP membership is at an all-time low, as several members either quit or have decided to not renew their membership after being disgusted by the top-down leadership, the bullying and the exclusionary way that these people are running and ruining the party.
So what does that bode for Kensington in General Election? As Labour can be guaranteed to have no campaign, to continually lose members and to fail to do anything more than hold onto safe wards, it will be doubtful that Felicity Buchan will do a chicken run to a safer seat if she sees that the conduct of the Labour Party keeps ensuring that the Conservatives will beat the electoral odds and hold on comfortably again just like they did in the Locals.
Yours in sadness

This letter hits the nail on the head. Kensington Labour is run by Emma D-C, Sina Lari and David Kear. They don't care about the Labour Party and they dont care about the people of Kensington who could benefit from Labour representaion in Parliament. All Emma D-C, Kear and Lari care about is themselves and protecting their own power base and positions while pushing a Far-Left agenda. Kasim Ali is not a Tory and he is not a bad guy but he is a very average Parliamentry candidate functioning purely as a poodle for Lari and Kear. There are a couple of candidates on this list that would be capable of winning the seat for Labour and giving a proper voice to Kensington residents. It is a shame that there is a danger that these talents will never be allowed to shine through but, hey-ho, who cares so long as the status quo is maintained and Dent-Coad/Kear/Lari continue to rule the roost. Time for the local CLP members to wake up and challenge this abuse and ensure that Kensington gets a candidate that can win an election and bring representation and change to it's constituents.
ReplyDeleteHear, hear and it hear it good
DeleteDent Coad is pernicious. Why hasn't she been kicked out of the Party. Her values are at odds with the wider Labour movement.
ReplyDeleteTime for the remaining sensible members of Kensington CLP to look at last night's voting figures & , despite all the tricks & difficulties that the branch officers will make, and vote for a sensible and untainted candidate who will win Kensington ( Constituency & Party) back for sanity
ReplyDeleteThe toxic nature of politics in the Kensington Labour Group needs to be brought to an end and the needs and wellbeing of the electorate prioritsed. Kear and Lari's time is coming to an end but that end needs to come sooner rather than later or we will be lumped with Kasim Ali as our Parliamentry candidate. Ergo, electoral oblivion and no voice at Westminster for the people of Kensington.
ReplyDeleteThe Liberal Democrats may have a say in that.
DeleteMost reasonable progressive minded residents would rather the RBKC opposition was led by Linda Wade instead of Emma Dent Coad any day
DeleteLinda Wade is an excellent councillor in Earl’s Court however she is far too meek and timid to ever be considered a reasonable opposition leader in RBKC.
DeleteLInda Wade works much harder than all the existing Labor councillors put together.
Delete"Top down leadership" of CLP = Trotskite Entryism
ReplyDeleteAli is the preferred choice of Tories for Labour Kensington candidate Funny that.
ReplyDeleteWlll Ali be double dipping in RBKC & the Commons just like Emma did? Kensington voters
Deleteought to know!
Emma was heard singing in the Ladies loo, "It should have been me."
DeleteIn Mrs Thatcher's 1980's, we used to say "doing the double" when we talked about working and drawing. Is Ali going to continue the scroungers' tradition of doing the double / double dipping?
DeleteNot sure EDC got much work done in Golborne after she became Kensington MP.
DeleteWhen EDC thought getting in to parliament was unlikely, she said she would not "double dip," and it was not possible to be an MP and take on any other paid work at the the same time. We only had her word for it. She never thought that Hornets would check the Parliamentary Register of Members' Interests and show her up.
DeleteVery sure that Emma donated all the profits made on her book to Kensington's poor & needy. She's just too modest to disclose the details of her charitable efforts with the public. That's all
DeleteShe donated for publicity purposes. Trying to redeem herself for the most appalling antisemitism.
DeleteEDC "coined in" all the money after saying that no Member of Parliament should take on any other paid employment - they should only do their parliamentary work. You could not do the work of an MP properly if you were doing any other paid work.
DeleteEmma was a very greedy double dipper.
Is Ali going to double dip if he is returned to Westminster?
Is Ali going to give up his seat on RBKC if he becomes MP?
When was the last time that Comrade Lari made an appearance in the far north of North Ken?
DeleteHe's only there when there's an election or CLP meeting on. Lari prefers Queens Gate & his luxury penthouse overlooking Kensington Palace than to bother mixing with the hoi polloi of Golborne Rd. He's happy to take their votes though
DeletePublic money should be spent on the needy, not the greedy.
DeleteOr the seedy.....
Delete"Or the seedy"
DeleteOf course as Conservatives we are all fighting hard to keep this seat ‘blue’. But it is not going to happen. Felicity Buchan has been massively disappointing as an MP. Hard to understand why we selected her.
ReplyDeleteI understand that Conservatives haven't had ther selections yet? If there are boundary changes to the constituency ,there might have to be new selection meetings? It would be crazy if Labour had to do the whole PPC selections thing all over again but on the other hand (depending on the exact changes), grossly unfair to Labour Westnminster members if they didn't.
DeleteDon’t think there will be new selections if the boundary changes. The chosen candidate will just be moved over to the new constituency. Could you imagine Felicity Buchan mingling with the down and out residents of Harrow Road & Maida Hill? She’d stick out like a sore bloody thumb!
DeleteOh, I don't know she went to a state comprehensive school. She's quite ordinary really.
DeleteUnlike a former MP, she has never claimed to be descended from Columbus, the Borgias, Perceval or that she has a potty Great Aunt in Aberdeenshire who married in to the aristocracy.
Oh do be quiet, you repellant bore.
DeleteI don't think it is "boing." Emma Dent Coad is the bore by pretending to be better than everyone else. She's a snobbish, socialist, wearisome person
DeleteEDC comes from Stepney.
DeleteWho cares?
DeleteHornets care because she led us to believe that she was something that she was not. "Born and bred in Chelsea." "The Constituency (Kensington) is my DNA."
DeleteDelusions of grandeur.
DeleteIt was a mistake to con us
DeleteSo you admit you were stupid enough to believe something everybody else knew the truth about by way of it being publicly available info online?
DeleteI don't expect a person who holds herself out as an ethical socialist to con me.
DeleteThat's why they were happy with the results in the Council Elections . They purposely brought in Councillors who would be no great challenge but obedient. They weren't interested in winning more seats, that would upset their cosy polit bureau. How would all those people who campaigned for Labour, were just part of Lari's data capture exercise to bring on new members , purely for the purposes of voting in these internal elections to get a Momentum Candidate as MP.
ReplyDeleteWhen will the Party have a proper investigation in to homophobia? We just hear denials.
DeleteAllegations of bullying, racism, antisemitism and now homophobia? There's no smoke without fire
DeleteRacism and antisemitism in the Kensington CLP were both proven to be true and are no longer in the "allegations" category. They are now a matter of undisputed fact.
DeleteIt would be remarkable if homophobia were absent from the Kensington CLP and the smell of it cannot be sprayed with Febreze air freshener.
There is so much wrong with Kensington Labour Party that it is difficult to know where to start - but the one thing that nobody seems guilty of is homophobia.
ReplyDeleteMaybe provide some evidence instead of peddling these pathetic rumours? You’ve been asked numerous times by many people on this hellsite to provide proof but you can’t cause you know it’s not true.
DeleteAgreed. This is so tedious. These tories on here seem to adhere to the notion of if you tell a lie enough times people will believe it. Now I wonder who taught them that. They should put up or shut up
DeleteIt’s the same 3-4 old men replying to each other’s comments on every post. Notice how those mentioning EDC or Labour get much more ‘traction’ compared to other posts which get 0 comments and presumably no views. They’re obsessed and absolutely pathetic.
DeleteSeemingly the very small group of men who enjoy harassing others on this site can’t get themselves to sleep each night without bashing one out to the thought of the former and long forgotten councillor Ian Henderson. They have idolised him
DeleteWell if the choice is EDC or Henderson , no wonder H is their choice.
DeleteLari will have a hand in this behaviour.
DeleteThe Dame has made us all aware of what is going on. Racism at the top for starters. Homophobia has been well and truly called out many times with examples. Pay attention.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha no she hasn’t. Cause once again, it ain’t true. So funny 🤣🤣
Delete22.18 seems pretty desperate and vulgar to me. Suggesting that Hornets cannot sleep at night without having a wank over former Councillor Ian Henderson?
DeleteFYI I’m not a socialist. Nor desperate. I can live without this blog unlike you. I am however sick to death of seeing the same boring old attacks against EDC, Lari, and other notable figures time and again on this site. What once was a useful local tool (which used to get praise from EDC of all people in the good old days) has turned into a nasty place for a group of sick men (including the man who pretends to be a dame) to have a circle jerk over saint Henderson while incessantly harassing & libelling people who have done far more good for their community & neighbours than Mr Dame and his lonely followers ever will. This blog is so far over the hill.
DeleteWho cares if my assertion that hornets masturbate to the thought of Henderson is vulgar? It’s no more vulgar or ridiculous than the claims of Sina Lari being a homophobe or any of the hundreds of false allegations made against EDC and others in this blog over the last few years. Hornets should reevaluate their life choices and what led them down the dark path to FTHN
That is why over 600 views daily occur...oh, but one forgets that is because the old Dame sits tapping away with her bejewelled fingers creating the views. Like it or not the Hornets Nest gets a huge number of views
DeleteAnd I’m the Pope.
DeleteThats not Emma again making claims that she's now the Pope.
DeleteSounds like it.
DeleteNo one has anything to fear if the Labour Party sends in Independent Investigators. If there is no homophobia then the powers that be in Kensington have nothing to worry about. People like Lari, Henderson, Atkinson, Press, Healey, and Blakeman could be interviewed and contribute to an investigation in to the whole shooting match. There is no point arguing with the exasperated Baroness Notting Dale. She decrees no homphobia so it must be true.
ReplyDeleteWhy don’t you report this alleged homophobia to the Labour Party if it’s such a big problem and you have evidence? Surely it would be taken seriously if it’s true. Don’t you want to be part of the solution?
DeleteWhy doesn't the Labour Party call in its investigators if it is not true? The Party could advertise for people to come forward in confidence without fear or favour. If what you say is true then no one will come forward.
DeleteExactly. No one has come forward nor will they ever. And you refuse to report this supposed anti gay behaviour to Labour so why keep yammering on about it? Your baseless accusations of homophobia against Sina Lari are utterly pathetic.
DeleteUnless there is a special independent investigation set up, no one will come forward. Therefore, bring in the investigators and we shall all find out.
DeleteWhat a brilliant idea! Perhaps you should publicly call for an investigation to be set up. I’m sure you’ll get plenty of support in your public campaign. Calling for an investigation on the lonely hearts club that is FTHN doesn’t count as nobody who values their time reads this blog.
DeleteYou read it and it rankles.
DeleteIt really doesn’t ☺️
DeleteIt is time for everyone to take a deep breath and calm down. This is becoming angry and aggressive and no good ever comes of that, my dears. Both sides of this dispute are passionate about their positions but enough is enough.
ReplyDeleteNanny is right- intemperate!
DeleteEDC used to love this website when the Tories were in trouble but when its Labour's turn in the barrel, Labour doesn't like it.
I've printed this off and sent it to Starmer.
ReplyDeleteThis is the funniest yet! What on earth makes you think Sir Keir has the time or inclination to read the misogynistic and often racist rants on a Tory blog.
DeleteI think the Baroness Notting Dale was trying to discourage you from sending the print out of this page to Keir Starmer by suggesting it won't do you any good. She was trying to poison From The Hornet's Nest by making a reference to "misogynistic and racist rants" so that it is foremost in Keir's mind as he reads it. When it comes to racism, look a little closer to home.
DeleteYou've got a point about Baroness Notting Dale.
DeleteSomeone has put the wind up Baroness Notting Dale.
DeleteHe"ll know what to do. He knew what to do about EDC that's why I think he will act. Popping out to the pillar box.
ReplyDeleteSir Keir Starmer KC knows that Sir Martin Moore Bick KC described this blog as "a breath of fresh air." A former Lord Justice of Appeal's opinion will influence Sir Keir who is, in all probability, unlikely to denigrate the Hornet's Nest.
ReplyDelete🤣🤣🤣
DeleteDear Dame,
ReplyDeleteAs Sir Keir Starmer is going to be looking at this blog, when my letter arrives, would you please tell us how many views this page has received since it was launched on 28th October?
Dear Hornet,
DeleteI can confirm that this page has had a total of 70 views since its launch on 28/10/2022.
As previously explained, there have been several comments made from the same people. Therefore the official number of views is likely to be far fewer than 70 as they would need to enter the page multiple times to comment. The Dame estimates the true number of views to be in the region of 25 - 30.
Sir Keir Starmer will see the strength of feeling surrounding the allegations of homophobia in Kensington Labour. Suffice it to say that a number of the multiple views which you mention will have come from members of the Labour Party over the last few days.
