By precipitate and ill-thought decision making Truss and Kwarteng have landed the country in one god-awful mess.
Having to drag in a third rater like Hunt to sort it out is a real slap in the face.
It's as if Truss was working for the Labour Party.
The whole business smacks of incompetence of the highest degree. The Dame was so right when she claimed Truss was unfit for purpose.
So why does Felicity Buchan still offer this abject failure support?
We deserve an answer....
This is how The Times reported yesterday's Truss meeting with the One Nation Group
"One obsequious murmur came from the minister Felicity Buchan, who offered a rare voice of support. But otherwise, the MPs filtered out of the room, and to their various disconsolate dinners, in a state of open hopelessness. “It was 99 per cent unsympathetic, 1 per cent Felicity Buchan,” one said."
This would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic.
ReplyDeleteTricky is desperate for help to find a new seat because she knows that she has lost Kensington to Labour. She is throwing a bone to underdog Truss in the slim hope of a favour. Too, too transparent.
DeleteAt 9 am this Friday MP Buchan meets RBKC Tories for a "coffee morning". She has some explaining to do. The sardine will be grilled.
ReplyDeleteThe MP will be held to account
DeleteFlick has lost her way. She is thrashing around to try and secure a new seat in Parliament and has unfortunately cast aside good judgement and lost sight of her duty to those who elected her
ReplyDeleteFlick has always wanted to be Chancellor of the Exchequer. Hunt is plotting to replace Truss and she may decide to dump him. Flick has put in her CV......
ReplyDeleteCould it be that she is supporting the PM because she believes that if the PM goes, the pressure for an immediate general election will be impossible to withstand with the Conservatives being wiped out nationally, let alone in Kensington? She might think the only chance is to support even a lame duck PM such as Liz Truss in the hope that things will have improved by December 2024...
ReplyDeleteGood analysis. Desperate measures for desperate times
DeleteWe need to stick by our MP and give her courage. The alternative is just too dreadful to contemplate
ReplyDeleteFlick is going ahead with her coffee morning for Conservatives this Friday at 9.00am
ReplyDeleteWhere is the coffee morning?
DeleteThe coffee morning will be held at a confidential location for members of the Kensington Conservative Association ONLY
DeleteHas Felicity Buchan's lack of principles made the Conservatives so unpopular in the constituency that they have to hold their coffee mornings in secret?
DeleteIt seems that MP Buchan has failed a personality test. Personal interest overtakes public interest?
ReplyDeleteNow that Liz Truss has resigned will her supporter Felicity Buchan follow her?
ReplyDeleteAll forgotten. Flick needs to figure out who the new Leader will be so that she can pose, flatter and pout
DeleteShe needs to cosy up to Mordaunt. Sunak wouldn’t give her the time of day.
DeleteThe lady is not for pouting

ReplyDeleteLiz Truss and her supporters have trashed the Conservative Party. They will not be forgiven.
