If in the Town Hall you spot a knot of Conservative councillors huddled together, engaged in furtive conversation, the Dame can solve the mystery.
There is growing concern over the health of Cllr Palmer.
He has been boasting to anyone- bored enough to listen-it was he who planted the story of Cllr Lasharie with Guido Fawkes's Henry Cole: Cole then passed it on to the Sun.
This piece of troublemaking comes hot on the heels of Palmer's eccentric decision to join the Labour Party.
No wonder more staid Conservative councillors are wondering what to do with this 'screw loose' cannon
I don't think you can be a member of two political parties at the same time.
ReplyDeleteAnyone?
You are so wrong....if you are as mad and dumb as Cllr Palmer it's possible
DeleteWhy is Cllr Mills a supporter of Palmer? The Cllr member for Norland Ward likes to "talk him up". We need to understand this.
DeleteIs Cllr Mills the Chairman of the Kensington and Chelsea Conservative Association?
DeleteDear Dame. Has the Conservative whip been withdrawn from Cllr Palmer?
ReplyDeleteNo. The Cllr member for Norland Ward likes whips.
DeleteNo one has responded to 23.34.
DeleteWill the Conservatives do nothing in response to Palmer's disgraceful outburst at Full Council? If not, they are opening the floodgates to inappropriate comments and ignoring the Mayor's authority.
Could 8.31 summarise what Palmer said at the Council Meeting? What was the disgraceful outburst?
DeleteWe could only hear part of it, as soon as he got up he started using s*x**l terms, he was being shouted down by the whole Council, both sides, plus the Mayor, who bizarrely let him continue. It was something about having a threesome with two women Councillors. Cringeworthy, and hugely embarrassing for them. He should be sacked.
DeletePalmer looks so bored at the Council meeting. And he seems to be only interested in shares that are tanking. What a ridiculous person
ReplyDeleteThis is the bi-polar position
DeleteBi-polar...? Unique, I would say....
ReplyDeleteThe Dame is quite correct that Cllr Palmer is a major embarrassment to his Conservative colleagues. Any casual discussion shows that they are quite open about this, including members of the Cabinet.
ReplyDeleteThe great mystery is why his name was permitted to go forward for the Queensgate Ward by election after boundary changes. The liability was well known from his time in North Kensington and his public and private attacks on serving Conservative colleagues. Attacking colleagues in public is way beyond the convention of freedom to say bad things about opposition councillors.
There is more to this than meets the eye. Perhaps a re run of the situation surrounding disgraced ex Cllr Phelps. In spite of everything, Phelps continued to receive cover from disgraced ex Leader Cllr Cockell. There was intense speculation about why Cockell continued to support his friend.
It is not yet known who Palmer "has something on". It was, for example, totally incomprehensible why he was allowed to stay in office after being found out for using the Chelsea Manor Street telephone to make telephone calls to Australia.
Palmer only made it on the Chairman's casting vote at the Queensgate by election
DeleteFor many, many months the Dame and her hornets have been clear that Cllr Palmer is "baggage" so far as the Royal Borough is concerned and there is now a substantial documentary path of misdeeds, conflicts of interest, personal and spiteful vendettas, and the use of Council and Conservative facilities in the course of personal business.
ReplyDeleteAnd then there are the totally bizarre campaigns such as trying to prove that the Hornet is a front for paedophile activity that Cllr Dent-Coade was responsible for malicious damage to his motor car.
The Tories have a cuckoo in the nest
In the depths of Italy, South of Naples, it is quite common when driving through villages to observe the Village Idiot on the street corner. Gesticulating, mouthing nonsense, and perhaps preforming obscene acts. The practice is to let the unfortunate beings be and not lock them up in an institution.
DeleteKensington and Chelsea Conservatives have decided on the humane approach so far as Cllr Palmer is concerned. Residents should try to relax and accept the poor person for what he is.
All very well but he is supposed to make judgements and vote on policy.
DeleteMakes no difference. Its a monopoly. And the Opposition is brain dead.
DeleteCllr Palmer is a fact of life in Hornton Street. Hornet bums need to wake up and get used to it. And the hornets should get a life
ReplyDeleteMathew, you are SO predictable
DeleteI write as a politician and psychiatrist so am well qualified to comment on the case of my one time colleague, Cllr Roundell Palmer
DeleteThe case of Cllr Palmer is an interesting one. His comment that he is a 'fact of life in Hornton St' indicates a certain detachment from reality: a sort of sociopathic political deviation, not dissimilar to Cllr Cockell denying he used the Bentley as 'political rhetoric' or myself denying that shares I received at 3Legs were not remuneration. Cllr Palmer must have realised that amongst the thousands of those who read the Hornet each week there are many who vote Tory. Please make an appointment to see me, Matthew. My first session will be free.
