THE DAME CHALLENGED

No Fly?

My Dear Dame,

We know that you don't like to criticise either Mrs. Borwick or Mrs. Dent Coad....but....

Has EDC left her senses?
I received a telephone call from my cousin in America to say that their newspapers are full of attacks on the Royal Family by the MP for Kensington. He wanted to know what is going on. I asked my secretary to do a media search and found many articles such as the Mirror piece below

Now we know that the Royals are a bunch of freeloaders. None more so than the young Princes living in our own Kensington Palace. All of them should be bundled off to Windsor and take a low profile. But it is not on for the Member of Parliament of the Royal Borough to criticise the Royal family in public. These things must be done privately.

Power has clearly gone to Ms Coade’s head and she needs to be reined in. We do not want the whole tone of Kensington brought down by a fish wife shouting what we privately think. She must understand the need for decorum and restraint. Please have a quiet word with the MP use your  best efforts to restore our community to some semblance of respectability.

With all good wishes

Your loyal reader

  2. Prince Harry is s good lad and this is EDC shooting herself in the foot. This is quite off-putting, looks like EDC getting a bit above herself, she has had strong support even from Conservative voters in the borough. She is going down a dangerous path here and should get on with issues in Kensington.

  3. I have some sympathy with Emma Dent Coad's desire to see an end to the constitutional monarchy in this Country. However, she has done an injustice to a legitimate cause by making personal, untrue and sneering remarks about Prince Harry's abilities as a pilot. Prince Harry is a fully qualified fighter pilot and he did not as Emma suggested sit in the cockpit during a military conflict going "vroom, vroom."

Emma also made the claim that neither Prince Harry or Prince William were very bright. Well, I could say the same thing about some members of the Parliamentary Labour Party but it is better to criticise what someone does or says instead of throwing personal insults in to the situation. Let the facts speak for themselves, Emma, and avoid the embellishments.

    1. I am all for free speech but that does not extend to telling lies about someone's qualifications as a pilot. Freedom of Speech is a basic human right and it is, of course, legitimate to express a sincerely held opinion. Emma went beyond doing this when she embarked on a flight of fancy suggesting that Prince Harry sat in the cockpit going "vroom, vroom" instead of flying the helicopter. My late partner was a pilot for thirty five years, in both military and civil aviation, and I can assure you the work requires considerable aptitude.

I doubt that Emma Dent Coad MP is privy to any IQ testing of Prince Harry or Prince William. She may sincerely believe that they are not very bright but without evidence her view is an opinion and, in this context is nothing more than a rant to rally the socialist faithful.

    3. Are you googling furiously lol.

      Delete
    4. 16.22 and 16.28.

No, I am not googling furiously to establish Prince Harry's qualifications as a military, fighter, pilot. Suffice it to say the British Military does not allow unqualified people to fly aircraft or use the weapons installed in them unless they qualify as a pilot (often referred to as "passing out") and are competent in the Rules of War.

My late partner qualified as a Fighter Pilot a long time ago. I should be happy to show you his logs books with all of the processes that the went through fully documented. The training, leading to qualification, took two years with a rigorous revalidation process every year after that. I imagine that the requirements nowadays are probably more robust because aircraft instrumentation and technology is more complex.

Just face it, Emma took the piss and has shown how ignorant she is.

    5. Free speech indeed but what are Dent Coad's aids doing? Yes men probably. With Harry at Invictus games supporting severerly disabled ex servicemen it makes her look insensitive. Own goal!

She needs to pick her outbursts carefully. The voting public are sensitive about the Royals which does not sit well with a 20 majority. Kensington is light years away form the streets of Belfast.

    3. The judge appears far older than his years, because he's a judge. A lifetime of study and anonymity make him so. It's what judges have to do, so when they decide a case, no one can claim they are biased. They cannot switch off the habits of a lifetime to seem like the rest of us, because they're not.

The limited scope of the public enquiry is due to the urgent need to rewrite the building and fire regs. If the enquiry also addresses decades of RBKC social housing/cleansing/KCTMO etc, taking evidence alone will take 5 years, plus 2 or 3 more to report. By then the building industry will have lobbied its way out of rigorous new regulation.

EDC's duty is to support the Grenfell victims and encourage all those concerned to give evidence to the enquiry. Instead, she whips up fake class war by criticising chandeliers and the royal family. She comes across as a lunatic. So EDC is the Tories' best hope. In due course otherwise uninterested residents will vote simply to be rid of her.

  8. I have to say I am appalled by Ms Dent Coads behaviour, as an MP she has seemed to concentrate on one part of the borough she represents and is backing up some North South divide theory by doing so . But her latest actions are very worrying, she is entitled to her opinions if she is a republican just fine but maybe she should have declared that in her campaign.

What she said in her speech was not republican it was downright nasty such as

declaring 'I am the royal family’s worst nightmare'

    calling Prince Philip a cheat

Criticising the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for buying an expensive jumper , does the lady know that in her constituency there are shops that sell expensive items, does she want them all gone

She also told a blatant lie just to make her self look good and republican

    she said

“Harry can’t actually fly a helicopter... He tried to pass the helicopter exam about four times and he couldn't get through it at all so he always goes for the co-pilot.

“So he just sits there going ‘vroom vroom’.”

A blatant lie and one which she should apologise for

She does not think the BBC should cover royal events

Dent Coad said: “The BBC should be ashamed of themselves for their absolutely untrammeled, sickeningly gratuitous coverage of anything royal.

“It also makes me feel very, very ill. It’s also our money paying for that. Why are they using it as a propaganda machine? I think it is an utter disgrace.

She forgets how much money was made by the last Royal Wedding and how many charities benefited as they asked for donations to charity instead of presents.

And when some of her audience called for the Royals to be executed by guillotine she said absolutely nothing. So not only a republican who refused to swear an oath to the Queen when taking office but does she condone murder ? she certainly did not state her audience were out of order for saying so

And as an MP surely Ms DC knows that she was factually totally incorrect, the Queen gets the Sovereign Grant a percentage of Crown estate profits to carry out her role the rest goes to the Treasury , William and Kate do not get tax payer funding as she claims they get security yes but that's all

A very disappointing display from an MP who announced there will be a declaration of the People’s Republic of North Kensington on Halloween, I think the lady has shown us who she represents and it is not all of the constituency.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Thats how we felt with Borwick , Rifkind and Cockell . Thats where you should direct your anger .

      Delete
    3. So you are happy having a liar as an MP ? Today she says she was only joking in her comments, the other day she told the BBC what she said about Harry was "absolute fact" .

The lady concentrates on one area of the borough alone so I fail to see how she is any better than the last MP , her being Labour does not excuse her behaviour and her alienation of the majority of her constituents.

Emma Dent Coad MP needs to be political, not personal and nasty.

It was a serious error of judgement for her, a Labour Councillor, to serve on the TMO Board when she had fair warning from the many, not the few that the TMO was corrupt and doing down working class tenants. Ironically, she professes to represent the very people that the TMO did down.

  21. Sadly Emma is seriously damaging the local Labour Party. She clearly thinks she is just a one-term MP so she is not bothering to work hard in the constituency, dealing not just with North Kensington issues but other subjects that worry mainstream Tory voters throughout Kensington. She could have built up a strong following amongst those who lent her their vote in June. But this nonsense about the royal family, whatever one’s own views about them, is seriously destructive. She seems to be far too fond of being in the press and on television to worry about her constituents. Many people have complained that they have contacted her for assistance and have had no reply and she cannot keep using the Grenfell Fire as an excuse for not dealing with bread-and-butter constituency problems. I suspect that she will refuse to stand down from the council next year in the hope that she will get more of her momentum supporters elected where Tories currently hold the seats. Then she can return in triumph as the Labour leader in the council after she loses her parliamentary seat. Jeremy Corbyn really should be encouraging her to get her head down, do the work and ensure that she is re-elected as our MP. If he wants to be Prime Minister, holding this seat will be crucial. But at the moment, I am not sure if I can still lend her my vote.

  26. EDC has demonstrated that she cannot handle power and responsibility. She is a flawed human being. She first of all failed as Leader of the Local Party and was thrown out by her colleagues. Now she has failed on the bigger stage as Member of Parliament for Kensington.

EDC was not "voted in" as the MP. The sitting MP was "voted out" by a combination of a strong Liberal campaign and the entitlement belief of the Kensington Tories which has poisoned K&C Conservatives over the last 40 years. EDC is in position by accident. Four recounts to detect a 20 vote advantage. Not even Durex would take the risk.

Emma must speak up for minority Catalan democratic rights, the fight of the opressed against the fascist Spanish state and monarchy, and support Jeremy in his noble fight for BREXIT ! If Emma is truly a liberal democrat she must speak out ! Remember George Orwell !

  43. Could Emma Dent Coad suffer from TALL POPPY SYNDROME?

A perceived tendency to discredit or disparage those who have achieved notable wealth or prominence in public life.

The tall poppy syndrome describes aspects of a culture where people of high status are resented, attacked, cut down or criticised simply because they have been classified as superior to their peers. This is similar to begrudgery, the resentment or envy of the success of a peer.

  44. She achieved nothing on the TMO. She sniped about Juliet and Reg. A member of the me society.

  45. Emma Dent Coad is embarrassing to watch, negative and nasty with no positive contribution.

  46. Emma! What are you doing about the Catalan Exit independence referendum ?

The Catalan Exiteers are being brutally repressed by the fascist Spanish state. They want democratic self-determination and devolved independence outside the Spanish state and outside the EU.

Please speak up for Jeremy and his brave leadership for LEAVING the EU and its repressive supra-National Socialism dictatorship.

INDEPENDENCE for CATALONIA. INDEPENDENCE for UK.

LEAVE the EU dictatorship and its repressive undemocratic fascist centralised control.

SUPPORT self-government by independent states and resist Euro-fascism.

  47. So now we have more proof of her blatantly telling lies

This what she said on the BBC

She told the BBC's Daily Politics: "Somebody else will tell me whether or not that's true but I've been told that's an absolute fact that somebody sits beside him and drives the helicopters for him."

she also said to another publication in her statement

She said: “The government has recently found £3bn to restore Buckingham Palace, a palace with 52 Royal and guest bedrooms and over 188 staff bedrooms. It is lived in by just three members of the Royal Family. In addition, the government finds £3bn a year to support the Royal Family, including millions to refurbish apartments for their use in Kensington Palace.

“Meanwhile, a short walk away, survivors of the Grenfell Tower fire have been abandoned in pokey hotel rooms for 15 weeks because there are no homes available for them.”

She adds: “Many of them are refugees, and some are former soldiers. I have total respect for them and the sacrifices they have made for their home countries and for ours. Army veterans are treated very poorly by the government; a close associate served in Iraq and Afghanistan and returned suffering from shock and PTSD. It took years to get a diagnosis, the system is punitive and he suffered unimaginably.

“On Monday night I made a joke. It has been taken the wrong way. Can we look at the real issues facing us now?”

So which one is it a fact she cannot prove or a joke, she cannot have it both ways

And yet again she uses Grenfell to steer away comment.

    1. Typical of the left wing. When you're loosing an argument widen it, bring up Grenfell to avoid apologising for telling lies about Prince Harry, but at all costs never apologise. Dent Coad was very sensitive when she was on the TMO but does not show any respect for Harry's feelings.

  50. Cannot fathom this at all. EDC used to be a star on this blog. Admired by the Dame. A big fan following. Now this. What a waste of time. What a waste of hope. Another failed politician. With Cockell and his like, it was hubris. With Campbell and her like it is publicity seeking. For EDC, it is working through her complexes and resentments. Why is The Royal Borough so full of shit?

    1. Because RBKC is shit. It's a stinking, fetid pile of it. RBKC is corruption made manifest. On close inspection, every aspect of its operation is utterly rotten, from property & planning to housing & education etc. RBKC finally achieved the ultimate expression of its rottenness by killing its own residents. Having done so, there's nothing left but blackened husks. Grenfell is figuratively mirrored in Hornton Street.

The coincidence of the left wing EDF being elected just 4 days before the Grenfell fire is sinister beyond words. EDF promptly proved herself as spiteful as Campbell is useless. Meanwhile the repellent Moylan slithers out from under a stone, raising his head to dart out his forked tongue.

Residents are rightly appalled. For all our sakes, the Dame must continue her vital task of shedding her piercing light into some of RBKC's darkest corners. The value of her work becomes more evident with every passing day.

  51. Curious @ 21.08 is right. Dent Coad is full of psychological complexes and socialist resentment. She is a big hit with labour politicians. Those ones who just like her are unable to think as a socialist should.
