FAY'S WIND UP!

Sometimes the Dame has a need to apologise.
The original letter was transcribed so Fay's letter was not full of spelling and other errors. Apologies to Fay Edwards.

This comment sums it up...

The Chairman of the TMO, Fay Edwards, BEM (which is, for those who do not know, the Bullshit Every Minute Medal) has surpassed herself. In a letter to Company Members, she has the audacity to say that the winding up of the TMO will be a "disappointment" to some. Take it from me,darling, the many not the few are ecstatic about the folding of the TMO. I am looking forward to paying the £1 required of every member of the Company on its winding up.

The only people who will be "disappointed" by the TMO folding are those drawing fat salaries for sitting on their arses and achieving nothing comparable to their counterparts on similar salaries in the commercial sector. And lest we forget, those scroungers on the TMO Board claiming means-tested benefits and deceiving Social Security into believing that these payments are out of pocket expenses. None of these scroungers, who are walking away with over £ 100 a month for calling themselves "Directors," have their Social Security or Housing Benefit reduced.
To think, I pay tax to help keep TMO Board members in a life of luxury; the same people who oversaw the management of Grenfell Tower. This expenses deception started back in the day of Gordon Perry and was enjoyed by the good friends of the TMO who became Resident Directors.
These same people, who were scrounging, saw off the many decent people who were unfortunate enough to live in a RBK&C Council flat.

It used to be a joke that expenses allowances paid for the fags of one long standing Board member.

  1. Shouldn't it also be 'faithfully' not 'Sincerely'?

  2. I think your commentator put a lot of typos in when copying Ms Edwards's letter to the Dame. The one Ms Edwards sent me does not contain them.

  3. 22.13.

I did not copy Fay Edwards's letter to the Dame. The Dame already had it and sent it to me before my copy arrived. Is that you Janet?

  4. As usual, the TMO takes my management fee each quarter, then doesn't bother to send me any information. Still, I suppose if/when I get it, it will probably be used for unmentionable purposes.

    1. I could show you a host of letters and emails from the TMO that are fully of elementary grammatical and spelling errors. Robert Black's emails, when he does them, are very poorly crafted with construction errors.

  5. TMO nothing of any value27 September 2017 at 08:15

The more I read about the TMO, the more I realise it is corrupt.

It concerns me that the long serving staff including Directors have done no work of any value for tenants. Their work has gone for nothing.

    1. Dear, where have you been for the past decade? Hibernating? Corruption was and is rife.

  6. The Allowance to Board Members is much higher than £ 100 a month. Robert Black put it up and then told the Resident Directors that they would get more money but have less meetings to attend. What a great bloke, music to the ears of the scroungers, get a bit more for doing much less, pay no tax and get all this Social courtesy of those who work.

  9. After the tragic deaths at Grenfell Tower it will be interesting to see which Conservative Councillors will make the journey to the Conference and whether they will be welcomed with open arms.

Those from Conservative Kensington Chelsea Fulham associations' passes should be revoked. They have not represented us or our concerns for years now.

    1. I can't see reason why this should happen. They failed in their major objective to cleanse North Kensington and rest of the Borough of those deemed to be 'ethnically and socially inferior to those in the Cabinet'. Was not this heinous scheme begun by Boris?

  10. Yes, that should be interesting.

  11. Fay, all you can think of is joy of paying back £1 to all members? Your time is up, we are so glad to see you go, the lot of you. Bye!

  12. Does anyone know about a vault (the black door) situated right next to the front entrance of Warwick Road estate where they have a big exposed gas pipe? I don't know if it was for TMO or the Council but they were emptying out lots and lots of black metal boxes. It made me wonder if it contained cash. The boxes weren't even A4 size. Many men loaded them into a contract security van this morning.

    1. Call Poirot.. Doubt if it was cash - Cabinet members have means of disposing of cash in a far more elegant a way than stuffing £ 50 notes into chests. It might look like some off-site file store. The boxes perhaps contain old files, which are now required.

  15. Some tenants have submitted a motion to the TMO at the AGM on 17 Oct for postponement of the harmful decision making to surrender sole member to the council to transfer the management of 10,000 properties to someone else, until availing independent advice and proper consultation: “We are gravely concerned about the lack of information made available to, and consultation with Members and Residents as regards the justification for and consequences of Resolution 5 and Special Resolution 6.
These proposals potentially constitute a violation of statutory duties to consult on matters relating to the management of housing. They also appear to be an attempt to circumvent the correct procedure as designated in the Modular Management Agreement which council should follow if it wishes to terminate the agreement. The termination procedure contains clear steps for the council to follow in addition to significant periods of consultation.
The letter provided to Members dated 22 September 2017 contains misleading information in respect of the consequences of not passing these resolutions. The council cannot, as is suggested, simply cease to fund the TMO causing its insolvency. There will not be, as is suggested, wholesale loss of services and jobs, the latter of which will be protected by the provisions of TUPE. This letter is therefore extremely misleading, and may in fact veer into the realm of misinformation.
All should be aware that these Resolutions as currently proposed could have very drastic consequences for the future of the management of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea’s housing stock. On a prima facie view they appear to surrender the Residents’ stake in future decision-making and provide for a complete hand-over of control to the Council. Given the current Council’s less than unblemished involvement in the events leading to the Grenfell Tower disaster, we have no faith that they are the best agents to represent the interests of the Residents at this time, without any oversight.
This decision is a momentous one and simply cannot be rushed through without Members and Residents having the opportunity to be further informed, with a view to seeking independent advice on the consequences of such a motion. It is also vital that Members and Residents have a genuine opportunity to look into potential alternatives to the proposals in these Resolutions. We do agree that the functions of the TMO must be systematically reviewed. If it is the case that the TMO comes to an end, it is essential that this is done following correct procedure, and at a time when an acceptable proposal for the ongoing management of RBKC’s housing stock is in place. We firmly believe that the continued participation of the Residents in an oversight role in the TMO is necessary and proportionate in the circumstances. In any event, no decision relinquishing this participation and thus drastically altering the management structure of the TMO can be on such little information and with no consultation.
We therefore urge all present to vote against Ordinary Resolution 5 and Special Resolution 6, and to instead support a postponement of decision-making in respect of the future structure of the TMO until proper consultation has occurred.”
The RBKC council is portraying itself as getting rid of the wicked TMO, and perversely rescuing the tenants; whereas the management of their homes could pass to an acquisitive Housing Assoc, and the tenants face loss of security. If the MMA is ended, then the tenants and leaseholders can kiss goodbye to their legal entitlement to take more effective control. Tenants need to know what is the proposed alternative. Is it in the tenants’ long term interest to let the uncaring RBKC council decide? The former Barnet council boss of the hated demolition of the West Hendon estate Andrew Travers has been appointed by RBKC on an interim contract to lead on the TMO dissolution and consultation.
