When 'This Is North Kensington' praises a Conservative councillor it is praise indeed. PRAISE
Despite Johnny Thalassites getting a bit of stick by certain residents over the parking permit kerfuffle, he's noted as a councillor who listens to residents and strives for balance.
The Dame had her initial doubts about this younger councillor but he is rapidly growing in stature and is a leader in waiting.
The problem is Cllr dizzy Campbell, not Cllr Johnny (I can never get my head around the Thassalites bit)
ReplyDeleteJohnny is a young and inexperienced Councillor with energy, passion and determination. Just what Hornton Street needs. But the youngsters need to be mentored and guided in matters of common sense and political judgement. And their hunger for notoriety and fame needs to be managed. This is where Leaders come in - it is essential for them to mentor and guide the younger Councillors. Something that the useless Campbell does not understand.
Johnny has potential and the possibility of a great future. But he needs a balanced approach. And for the moment he is not mature enough to get there on his own. I hope that one of the older hands steps forward to help him so that he does not end up going down that well known Hornton Street path of puffer upper
Thassalites is the new Fielding-Mellen. Big personal ambition, small personal experience, lack of judgement.
DeleteFielding-Mellen was toast after Grenfell. Johnny needs to be careful
No Thalassites is high quality and will go far.
DeleteIs Downes having a "Turkish moment"?
DeleteUnfortunately, the Dame has spoken too soon! There have been problems with the Planning portal over the weekend again. Is there no end to this shambles?
ReplyDeletePeople power has had an unexpected victory in RBKC. Various planning applications have been granted a month's extension for comments including South Kensington Station and 344-350 Old Brompton Road in Earl's Court due to Cllr. Wade, Kensington Society and many residents who complained about the shambolic planning portal.
ReplyDeleteGood; but one of the problems is that residents are not informed by post what is happening locally. If you do not go looking for it or see any planning permissions in the area you do not know and unable to comment.
DeleteEspecially in Earls Court!
Residents need to rally around Councillor Wade. She is one of the few Councillors who "delivers" and also has a wise old head on her shoulders.
ReplyDeleteA pity she is not given more influence in toxic Hornton Street
Cllr Wade can be good but in six years has not helped residents ONCE with fly tipping where Paladin bins were installed. Not even a sign to tell people not to fly tip.
DeleteAs for Spalding & the other councillor; gawd help us! Not sure what they do if anything besides ride on Wade's coattails.
