FELICITY NEEDS A WORD WITH HUSBAND

This is Cllr James Husband. As chairman of the Planning Committee, he voted for the demolition of the fit-for-purpose M&S building in King's Rd and the redevelopment of the site.

Michael Gove recently stopped the destruction of the M&S building in Oxford St on the grounds of incompatibility with the government's low-carbon future strategy.

Felicity Buchan is about to host this forum to discuss the environment and a low-carbon future.
Perhaps she should invite along Husband....
He seems not to understand government policy....or maybe he has been the subject of undue influence?

  1. I bet Husband is quite partial to Peter Bingle's developer lunches & dinners. He certainly looks like someone who does.

    3. Buchan is extremely closely guarded about her personal life to a point where people still hardly know anything about her at all.

    5. The thought of Mr Toad and the Gerry Anderson puppet carrying on together would put most people on a diet.

  3. Councillor Husband already has a wife! Perhaps there is a little extramarital scandal brewing? It's always never the ones you think.

I hear that there are call for me to step aside from the chairmanship of planning. I have taken advice from colleagues at DP9. The view there is that my knowledge of planning procedure and sympathy for the aspirations of their clients makes it incumbent upon me to carry on my onerous duties. This view is reinforced by senior planning officers at RBK&C who know they can rely upon me to vote for progress and innovation. Some Luddites have claimed that knocking down buildings is bad for the environment. Sometimes the needs of our developer friends must take precedence over nonsense like Zero Carbon whatever that may be.

I have discussions with DP9 over the proposed demolition of The Albert Hall. Sadly it is outside our Council's jurisdiction but I do tend to agree with DP9 this Victorian carbuncle is no longer capable of its original purpose and should be replaced by a smaller concert hall with luxury apartments.

  8. Toad voted for the demolition of the Earls Court exhibitions centre saying he didn't see what the problem was.
Okay Toad, try all the lost revenue in the area all the businesses shut up, area run down which affected people in his ward negatively also and land being left unused for years.
Not to mention the huge negative impact in the environment of Kensington and Earls Court of the demolition itself. But that's alright because his mates the developers are going to cash in and fill the space with skyscrapers and high-rises for funny money launderers and buy to leave.
