No, that is a shame. She worked hard on the ground for residents
ReplyI am surprised to know this. Every day I see her delivering food parcels to the food bank in North Kensington in her old VW Golf. Hard not to notice her red hair. Assumed she is a Councillor.
Very strange that such a dedicated public service person is not a Councillor. Does not matter if it is Tory, Labour or Liberal. She cares, she works hard and my goodness, she makes a difference. Would prefer her on the Tory side but residents need such people to represent them.
Dame. Could you please give us an opinion why Councillors like Ian Henderson and Victoria Borwick, public servants who make a real difference to residents lives, are being thrown away?
ReplyDeleteAt a time when both major Parties in the Royal Borough seem to be stuffed with second and third rate Councillors, and worse, why is quality being banished?
I am shocked to hear that Ian Henderson was deselected as a Councillor. Why?
DeleteIn response to resident clamour Cllr Ian Henderson mounted a single minded campaign and took on the spiv management of Sutton Dwellings in Chelsea. He stopped the charity from redeveloping the site for luxury flats for oligarchs. Pathetic MP Greg Hands contribution was to wring his hands and cry "oh lament". Tory Councillors were conflicted by their developer mates and just shuffled around in the background.
There was no doubt where Henderson was coming from. He prevailed. He saw off the reptiles.
Residents need Councillors like this. WHY HAS HE BEEN DUMPED? It is a scandal.
Is Borwick deselected too?
DeleteMust be more to the Henderson story. High performers do not get dumped for no reason. A little scandal perhaps? Some naughtiness? we should be told....
DeleteHenderson? Gone?? What for?
DeleteHenderson's only 'naughtiness' was working for ALL residents rather than engaging in political infighting and backstabbing.
DeleteDisgraceful. A loss to public life. Residents will miss Ian Henderson. If it is an EDC dirty deed, the wheel will come around. Just wait and see.
DeleteEmma Dent Coad runs the Kensington Labour Party's Dirty Tricks' Department. She is a very inadequate politician- an undeniable fact as Labour Councillors sacked her when she convened the Labour Group on the Council. We now have her daughter seekling election. God help us if the daughter is anything like that mother of hers.
DeleteSomeone asked 'who reads the Hornet' yesterday 870 and 1578 on Thursday last week. The average weekly is around 6,000. Hope that helps reassure that the Hornet readership is potent
ReplyDeleteThe Dame is an amazing source of inside information for the residents of RBKC. Thank you, good lady
ReplyDeleteThe old lady is certainly knocking it about at the moment
DeleteCharmed, my dear
DeleteAnd Borwick took a brave and singular stand against the Sloane Square development, dreamed up by The Daniel and hated by the local residents. She did what she knew was right. She knew what her residents wanted.
ReplyDeleteBorwick is not a bread and butter person. She instinctively moves towards those in need and calls a spoon a spoon. Nonsense is not her cup of tea. The Conservative Party in the era of Grenfall could do with a few more like her working on the ground.
DeleteLady Borwick was a disaster area as an MP. She had no interest in helping the homeless and went on about a fridge after the Grenfell Tower went up in flames. I have never met Lady Faulks, but she doesn't sound much better and as for Emma Dent-Coad - the lesser said the better. Kensington deserves a shake up and some new political blood. I nominate Justin Downes for starters.
ReplyDeleteMatthew, I agree the less said about Emma Dent Coad the better. She'll go running to the police again if she perceives an electoral disadvantage from people's fair comments on here.
DeleteEmma orchestrating the deselection of Ian Henderson who has achieved more for local people than Emma Dent Coad has ever managed to do, is the pits. If she had any shame she would hang her head very low for using Trotskyite tactics to get rid of Ian. Instead, Emma wants the daughter, a University Graduate and former Public School Girl (who knows less about the poor and Socialism than her mother does, and that's saying something) on the Council instead of Ian.
Can we trust Dent Coad, the dissembler, whose closeness to Citizen Corbyn the Foreign Policy Trot who sees NATO as the problem in Ukraine, should be cause for concern.
Why hasn't Emma Condemned her Marxist mate Corbyn's latest foray in to Foreign Policy? Could it be that she garess with him.
Beg to disagree on EDC in that the more people speak about her & what a divisive & highly toxic being she really is the better. She has made a mockery of the local Labour Party getting rid of good councillors like Ian Henderson & is driving core members & supporters away in droves. Anyone there who isn't ritually kissing her backside & questions what her little group is doing is cut out of comunication, excluded & in some cases bullied.
ReplyDeleteI am sure that someone like Judith Blakeman must have the ear of Starmer. Keir knows that Emma is an obstacle to creating a decent society. How Emma stays in the Party with her past history beats me. Drawing pictures of a Black opponent being hanged and putting it on the internet must be grounds for expulsion. Furthermore, endorsing antisemitic tweets must be grounds for seeing her off.
DeleteHope Keir will not be intimidated by Emma's left wing chums, Abbott, Burgon, Long Bailey, and McDonnell. Kensington needs Labour without Emma Dent Coad.
I am not sure that Emma Dent Coad is being undemocratic.
DeleteIt is democratic to encourage your supporters to join a political party.
It is democratic for Emma to pack her Party with her mates and to get those mates to vote the ways that she wants them to.
People are not perfectible and to get people to do what you expect them to do is not easy but not impossible. It requires good middle class negotiating skills.
If that ousts Ian Henderson, then that is just one of changing fortunes of life.
Politics is filthy as Emma Dent Coad knows. As a former Trot, I can say this is what Trots do when it suits them. Trots don't believe in Parliamentary Democracy or Town Hall Democracy, they adapt their principles to suit anarcho syndiclist principles
Anonymous at 11.07 raises an important point about EDC's racism. Would you agree with me that racism is not an isolated incident. It is in the heart of the racist.
DeleteVery concerned that Emma Dent Coad is a Labour candidate in these local council elections in May and Ian Henderson is not.
DeleteWould someone in the Labour Party care to comment on the following facts:-
Ian has no form for racism or antisemitism.
Ian has been an outstanding champion of social housing tenants, without the support of the Labour Party. Ian and a guy called Andrew saved the Sutton Dwellings in Chelsea from destruction without any help from the Council.
Ian rolled his sleeves up at a foodbank to get food to the needy and was criticised because a Tory was doing likewise at the same time. Getting food into starving bellies is not a priority for Kensington Constituency Labour Party if a Tory is doing the same thing at the same time.
Emma Dent Coad was exonerated of racism by Corbyn, a white middle class man, whereas Kemi Badenoch, a Black woman MP, found Emma's sketch of a black man being hanged shocking.
Emma served on the TMO Board as a Company Director for four and half years. Tenants suffered under nose. Whereas, Ian did everything he could to help tenants.
Just how vile does a candidate have to be to considered suitable for election as a Labour candidate by the Kensington Constituency Labour Party?
Just how good does a candidate have to be shown the door by Kensington Constituency Labour Party and sacked by their selection committees.
