THE MORALS OF A TOMCAT PRIME MINISTER

There is something quite unwholesome about Mr. Johnson.

He's the sort of chap one can imagine flogging tat in some souk somewhere.

Johnson's natural habitat

In fact, the Dame would be wary of allowing any vaccine sold by Mr. Johnson to soil her blue blood.

When he came out with this 'banter' during a video call to the 22 Committee we saw the strangeness of the man "The reason we have the vaccine success is because of capitalism, because of greed, my friends."

We should be wary of this man: he has had a judgment bypass.

Every scientist engaged in saving lives should feel disgusted by this oafish Prime Minister.

    3. Gavin Hastings sums up Johnson well in an article for the Guardian in 2019:

"I have known Johnson since the 1980s, when I edited the Daily Telegraph and he was our flamboyant Brussels correspondent. I have argued for a decade that, while he is a brilliant entertainer who made a popular Maître d’ for London as its mayor, he is unfit for national office, because it seems he cares for no interest save his own fame and gratification."

      Hastings continues:

"Like many showy personalities, he is of weak character. I recently suggested to a radio audience that he supposes himself to be Winston Churchill, while in reality being closer to Alan Partridge" ( no offence meant to Alan Partridge, at least he doesn't purport to be anything other than a comedian )

"Johnson would not recognise truth, whether about his private or political life, if confronted by it in an identity parade. In a commonplace book the other day, I came across an observation made in 1750 by a contemporary savant, Bishop Berkeley: “It is impossible that a man who is false to his friends and neighbours should be true to the public.” Almost the only people who think Johnson a nice guy are those who do not know him."

"If the Johnson family had stuck to show business like the Osmonds, the Marx Brothers or The Von Trapp family, the world would be a better place. Yet the Tories, in their terror, have elevated a cavorting charlatan to the steps of Downing Street"

"I have a hunch that Johnson will come to regret securing the prize for which he has struggled so long, because the experience of the premiership will lay bare his absolute unfitness for it."

In my opinion, Johnson is an entitled confidence trickster (an unfortunate and low grade product of one of our leading schools and universities - what a damning indictment for both).

His position as leader is blown about with whichever wind of self interest happens to be blowing at the time (note his appointments to the House of Lords). He is a blithering buffoon and an embarrassment as our Prime Minister, one we have all had to endure because of the lack of a credible alternative.

Gavin Hastings needs to write copy to get paid. Johnson was elected PM. That was his challenge and he won. Not much more to say.

    8. Your comment would seem to suggest that somehow it is illegitimate for anyone to write copy for a living...

As a minister Johnson wrote copy to pay for the indiscretions in his private life. He is no longer allowed to do this as Prime Minister but look to recent H of L appointments for for his income post premiership.

Johnson is more 'self service' than 'public service' and eventually the electorate will wake up to this.

Hastings has integrity, something Johnson can never be accused of.

Johnson suffers from that irritating aspect that affects those who are not really English. He affects what he thinks are English characteristics and the whole thing looks a sham.
