A LABOUR PARTY MEMBER SNIPES AT THE DAME

The Dame always tries to accommodate local dissidents.

This reader is wrong: the Dame is never shy of the truth.

Dame,
I hope you publish this.
If you don't it would seem to suggest that you have 'favorites'....

Emma Dent Coad, when elected to represent us, insisted to her Labour Party council colleagues that she would not claim her basic allowance of £11,000.
She has now gone back on her word and the £11,000 allowance is now added to her Commons salary of £80,000 a year...£91,000 a year...plutocratic!
As a long-standing Labour Party member I am pissed off at her change of mind.

If you don't publish this I will send to the national press.

Silly Dame. Stirring and making trouble. Dent Coad does the work and gets the salary. That's it. No more, no less.

Stop carping and trying to undermine an elected public servant.

Oh, so it's OK to make promise and then break them? Sounds very Marxist to me!!

    2. The Dame is never 'silly'.
You sound a damned fool, sir or madam.
Had the Dame ignored the email sent to her by 'Labour Party Member' she would (correctly) stand accused of being soft on Emma. You seem to have a very curious view as to the role of a local blog... now away with you and your nonsense....the Dame is having none of it. She's off to welcome her dear friend, President Trump.

  4. Dear Dame Hornet,

Your nephew Ludo is lacking in energy and alertness these days.

As Queen Bee, I have to keep the mates in my hive in good order. So like a troop of well disciplined and helpful boy scouts with a purpose in life and a good deed to do, I have had many of them buzzing around the corridors of power in Parliament and Kensington Town Hall. My bees achieve much through co-operation in local and global politics, and even if I say so myself, they deliver a nasty sting. This time their target is that illustrious and virtuous Labour MP Emma Dent Coad.

When Councillor Emma Dent Coad first became MP for Kensington, she tried to impress traditional Tory voters in the constituency by doing a bit more for a bit less; just like former Tory Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher always did. Instead of resigning her seat on the Council because according to socialist dictum, it is not possible to take on any other work and do the job of Member of Parliament properly, she stayed on at the Council but let it be known that she was giving up her generous councillor's allowance. My hive has been buzzing very loudly because it is now known that Councillor Emma Dent Coad MP has been claiming her councillor's allowance of £11,057 a year since January 2019. It seems that the first Labour MP for Kensington is building up a nest egg to cushion the impact of losing her parliamentary salary of £ 79,468.

    1. I've heard that when Emma was Queen Bee of the Labour Group on the Council, Labour Councillors sacked her because she could not work with others.

Lady Thatcher was not one of the girls at school which is why she was an autocratic prime minister; no women in her cabinets- the Queen Bee Syndrome.

    2. When she got the sack she lost the generous allowance that the Council pays the Leader of the Opposition Group.

    3. Motivated by what is her purse.13 June 2019 at 08:32

Dent Coad is not and has never been "the real deal."

She is no Jo Cox. She wants everyone "divided" in pursuit of her marxist agenda instead of espousing "What is important is what unites us rather than what divides us."

Emma believes in social class privileges and enjoys the snob value she derives from not allowing anyone to suggest that they can in any way upstage her upper class background.

Emma is motivated by what is in her purse. Maximising her income by claiming all the benefits to which is entitled when drawing 79k from the public purse. She's as embarrassing as Boris Johnson MP with her outbursts on a range of issues.

    2. Ever heard of economies of scale.3 June 2019 at 11:37

This is a question of value for money, personal integrity, and morality.

Councillor Emma Dent Coad MP is getting the going rate for two jobs. She was quick to go public about forgoing her allowance as a Councillor when she first got in to parliament. Good for her! She did this to avoid the criticism that Labour MP's often level at successful Tory politicians with lucrative interests in business, law or policy think tanks. The sanctimonious left in the Commons think it is only possible to do the work of an MP properly provided that an MP does no other paid work whilst holding the office of MP. When Emma decided to give up her generous councillor's allowance, she definitely realised that economies of scale arose from her duties as an MP and Councillor. For example, she could easily incorporate her casework as a Golborne Ward Councillor in to her parliamentary office. Furthermore, she realised that her Golborne Ward voters were also her parliamentary constituents. So she is now getting paid twice for representing the same voters nationally and locally. Portillo and Rifkind always represented their parliamentary constituents to the Council but they did not get paid twice for doing so. What Emma is doing is legal but is it moral?

When the dust had settled, Councillor Emma Dent Coad MP SNEAKILY boarded the Hornton Street gravy train by reclaiming her allowance. It took the Dame some six months to find out about it. Double standards- Labour MP's are so envious of Tory wealth, particularly those Labour MP's with class and little money to support their status, they trounce any Tory who is paid for more than one job whilst being paid as an MP. What's good for a Tory MP is good for the Labour ones too.

    1. Yes. She not only said it, she did it. She proudly entered on the Parliamentary Register of Members' Interests that she "received no allowance for her duties as a Councillor." In January 2019 she started drawing her Allowance again and changed the entry on the Register in February 2019.

      Delete
    2. Who did she say that to? There's nothing technically wrong with starting to draw her allowance unless she specifically said she was NEVER going to do so. Is there anything in writing or on camera?

    3. Dear Emma,

You let it be known to me and a number of others that you were not claiming your allowance from the Council. You were trying to do the right thing. You did not shout so loudly when you started drawing it again. The con is over!

    4. Dear Glorious, Gracious and Great Dame,

Can you with all your experience and wisdom possibly throw any light on why EDC would give up her Councillor's Allowance for eighteen months and then start drawing it again? Did she hope we would not find out about this volte-face.

    2. Point taken 12.14. Kensington voters are unlikely to vote her again.

Kensington voters will not vote for a party led by Corbyn which will also usher in Emma's political demise.

Corbyn declined to attend a state dinner with Trump. He then asked Trump to attend a private meeting with him. What a ridiculous left wing thing to do. This might impress the marxist left but the people of Kensington............ I don't think so.

Corbyn sat down at a State Dinner with the Communist President of China oblivious to the appalling Human Rights record of China. He enjoyed wine at around £1, 000 a bottle at that dinner. Most of us get wine from Tesco at around
£ 6.99 a bottle. And he gives Trump short shrift..., and then requests a private meeting with Trump. This might impress the Lethal Left in pursuit of a socialist world but Kensington voters, no way.

Corbyn sits down with Hamas, Hezbollah and the IRA supposedly in the interests of world peace. Well I don't think so. He sits down with these left wing paramilitary groups because he agrees with them; nothing to do with peace but he is not honest enough to tell us the truth. He sees violence as the way to bring about change in political disputes to create a socialist world. Paramilitary groups kill innocent people.

Why hasn't our MP criticised Corbyn.

Emma has to pay Income tax on her Councillor's Allowance. She will lose 40% of it in tax. She looks forward to Boris Johnson becoming Prime Minster because he proposes to increase the band at which the 40% tax rate becomes payable. Emma wants Boris to get in because she will only pay 40% tax on £11,000 of her income.

EDC needs to smarten up to represent Kensington and obtain the respect of the Royal Borough's Dames and Duchesses.

The Kensington MP should be smart and well groomed. Colour coordinated separates and twin sets with a row of pearls are very acceptable. Personal grooming at Selfridges or Harrods should be possible on ninety grand a year. Hair styling a Sassoon's would be nice.

Why does a Socialist have to look to scruffy

  19. Hi Glamour Cat

In the eighties, Corbyn wore a brown jacket that looked dirty. He sported a brown beard that was overgrown. He looked like he needed a good wash. Looking a mess was the order of the socialist day back then. Corbyn was young and stupid then. Today Corbyn's beard is well groomed and he wears a well tailored navy suit. He now looks well scrubbed. He wants to be prime minister and knows that he will pay the price if he dresses like Michael Foot. Emma take heed otherwise it will be back to the Town Hall for you minus the 80 grand a year.

Blair, through Barbara Follet, instructed women MP's to wear a little black dress. He wanted them smart and slim looking.

Emma dresses like a 1970's feminist. I should know I was one. Back then it frowned upon in the women's movement if a woman wore make up or high heel shoes. I went along with it. I am pleased to say that feminists can now wear make up and heels without incurring the wrath of other feminists.
