HOLIDAY INN OBJECTION LETTERS EDGE TOWARDS 1000

There is no room for complacency....
Residents have a powerful enemy in the tubby shape of Sir Merrick 'Pooter' Cockell, the ex-fag salesman who rose to become the leader of the Rotten Borough.
Pooter
Pooter is now chairman of a spivvy lobbying operation, Cratus..... and Cratus has inveigled itself into the confidence of the Chinese developer keen to make more billions by blighting the lives of residents within a 3 mile radius of the development.

MONSTERING RESIDENTS

Keep objection letters coming in.
AND as importantly, turn out in great numbers to the planning meeting on September 27th at the Town Hall

The Chinese have a friend at court in the shape of planning officer, Mr Elliott. Not only was Ellliott the chap who gave pre-planning advice he's now the case officer!
Here's an interesting piece in the Mail today LINK

This is the moment for the Council to listen very carefully to residents....

  1. I think it is vital that we keep the objections rolling in and also hope that more reputable papers like The Guardian will pick up a story on the facts and threats. It's great that we've got so much traction already but also it will be absolutely key that as many objectors as possible show up to the planning committee meeting on 27th September.

  2. Interesting. 27th September is the same day as the KCTMO EGM. The Council does it again! Can the date be changed?

    1. Highly unlikely - the conflict is INTENTIONAL...Another of Dr Quirk's managerial skills - to skew opinion.

    2. Perhaps they have negotiated a special deal for SIA. Buy one get one free? The security for the TMO AGM was hefty last year. I wouldn't be surprised if they've requested for riot-ready police, sniffer dogs and the whole shebang for the two simultaneous meetings too. Pity they waste money on things like that because we are well mannered civilised residents.

Very interested to see the Kensington Society getting involved in the Forum Hotel application although some of my neighbours have been complaining that in their typical high handed way Kensington Society has made little attempt actually to talk to local people and find out what the major local concerns are. What a contrast too, to Kensington Society’s quite amazing support for the ghastly and highly damaging development at Newcombe House. Chairman Amanda Frame was so proud of her part in that she took the awful developer, Richard Selby, to Kensington Palace to meet the Society’s patron, the Duke of Gloucester. So what has happened to Kensington Society, a group whose objective has always been to protect Kensington? Now it is gamekeeper turned poacher and promoting and encouraging developments that are damaging to Kensington and its unique and precious environment. Ms Frame seems to have lost her way. Ms Frame, time to move on.
