If it weren't so tragic it would be hilarious...
This is what Dizzy has to say about her Ladyship's appointment...
"Responsible for economic development in the borough and making Kensington and Chelsea a great place for businesses to thrive. The brief will focus on connecting the opportunities created by the borough’s people, status, and location into tangible and positive outcomes for local residents."
Lady Faulks has not a clue about business but I suppose her cocktail party skills will be useful for all this 'connecting' nonsense.
It's time this Council stopped poking its nose into areas it has no expertise or business to be in.
It is hard to believe that this bird brain is in the Cabinet. Dizzy loves a Lord around her. Now only one step removed.
ReplyDeleteThis appointment sums up all that has been rotten in the Royal Borough for too long. An accident of circumstance Leader giving favours to her accident of birth favorites
DeleteKensington Council is populated by middle class arrivistes. Pooter had his Rock and Liz has her Mary. So terribly dull
DeleteWhere does the Dame get these pics? Talk about mutton dressed as lamb!
ReplyDeleteWhy on earth did Cllr Mills not challenge Cllr Campbell for the Leadership of Kensington and Chelsea? The ex Mayor has shortchanged residents.
ReplyDeleteOh no.....
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately so. Liz, Mary and Cath. The barrel has been well and truly scraped.
Deleteor Marks and Spencer, mess and mutton
ReplyDeleteI hope Lady Faulks gives her utmost attention to the North of the Borough in particular North Pole Rd. Which has become a total deadzone for shops. With half the shops being empty. We need some fresh thinking to get life back into this strip which has had the life sucked out of it by high business rates and a uncaring council.
ReplyDeleteThis is just the kind of project for which residents need to hold her feet to the fire. Dizzy dreams up fancy Cabinet titles for her mates so that they can all puff together. Well Faulks is responsible for Economic Development and helping businesses to thrive. She has been running a property finding Agency of her own so presumably has found out something about life.
DeleteNow she needs to perform. Set some benchmarks for her.
(i) how many shops in North Pole Road today?
(ii) how many shops in 1 year
(iii) how many shops in 2 years
Lets see what the Lady is made of. And before I forget, send her a map of how to find North Pole Road.
Don't hold your breath. She is barking. The Norland Ward were thrilled to see the back of her and she has confused the hell out of Campden residents. Impossible to follow her train of thought and her conclusions are random.
DeleteSmall business would do well to keep clear of her. A true menace to society
How long will take the Tories to learn that the world of looking after your friends in the Town hall is a thing of the past?
ReplyDeleteHell needs to freeze over first. Democracy and a strong opposition is the remedy but as we all know Labour is worse than feeble in The Royal Borough and the Tories have been corrupted by monopoly.
DeleteUnfortunately it is the dreadful middle classes with Laura Ashley sitting rooms that run Hornton Street. We do not even have the grace of some decent feudalism with proper chaps calling the shots
Too much to hope for. Town Hall Government is in the hands of the little people of every dimension. Grasping for status, grasping for money, grasping for favour, grasping for power, grasping for influence. Just "puffing" as the Dame sums it up.
DeleteOrganisations go through peaks and troughs. After an event like Grebfell it is quite common to end up with a low performing buffer organisation that just "fills the space". But this is often a precursor to something better. The Board (or in the case of Kensington and Chelsea, the Tory Group) will wake up one morning and comes to the general conclusion that "we can do better than this".
ReplyDeleteCllr Campbell is not a top quartile person (it is no accident that her colleagues have nicknamed her dizzy lizzie) and she has exceptionally low political intelligence. Excluding Councillor Mills from the Cabinet creates space for a competitor to plot - quite apart from denying the residents of the Royal Borough the exceptional abilities and skills of Cllr Mills. And demoting Cllr Pascall is also dangerous because he considers himself to be Leadership material - and considering the low quality of the current Cabinet he is obviously in there with a chance. Cllr Weale is very ambitious and along with the odious Cllr Wason (who styles himself a finance wizard), Weale + Wason is the black adder team that will emerge and try to scupper Campbell. Weale may currently be part of dizzy's kitchen cabinet but she does not have an ounce of loyalty and is now desperate, having realised that her chances of Westminster are zero.
DeleteCllr Mills is at the prime of her energies and abilities. Temporarily blocked in Hornton Street it will occur to her that there is a vacancy for the Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Kensington. It will be a surprise of enormous proportions to those in the know if Cllr Mills does not throw her hat in the ring. And with her West Indian background she will be a powerful competitor for Shaun Bailey who is quietly building his campaign to be selected as the Kensington Conservative candidate for Westminster. EDC's days are numbered as our MP. Her accidental majority of 20 votes has long ago vanished and every time she puts her foot in her mouth (a regular occurrence) she loses another couple of thousand votes.
Weale is unreliable and devious. "We agreed to listen but not to hear" sums her up.
DeleteCould we get back to Lady Faulkender please? Residents must not lose sight of the terrible pox that has been inflicted on the Royal Borough. Dizzy is using her position to reward her friends and shore up her social credentials. She is now dropping names in the Isle of W like the fish wife that she is
