GOLDMAN SACHS PARTNER DOING GOD'S WORK IN CLAREVILLE ST!

When Goldman Sach's Blankfein pompously suggested he and his gang were doing ‘God’s Work’ none thought this gave his underlings permission to wreck the lives of close neighbours.

Perhaps, as part of the house buying due diligence process, potential buyers should be told if there a Goldman’s partner nearby.
The Dame will suggest this to her new 'solicitor', Cllr Warrick.
However, it would be too late for residents of residents of Clareville St, S. Ken.
Having endured several years of basement excavations the residents now find that the owner of 40 Clareville St has decided on a mega show off basement replete with lifts, home cinema room, gym- all the usual ‘toys’ so beloved of over-monied bankers.
ANOTHER MEGA BASEMENT
You can see all his plans here God's work

Sadly, the owner, a recently promoted Goldman's MD, Roop Bhullar, has decided to take the JCB to this extraordinarily well designed town house, the early work of the distinguished, award winning architect Niall McLaughlin.

Tonight the PAC will consider his application.
If it succeeds will show once again the impotence of the planners in the face of owners greedy for unnecessary space and careless of the long term disruption to the neighbourhood.

When one set of neighbours approached Bhullar to ask him to reconsider his plans he was rebuffed with a string of offensive and arrogant dismissals.
He even accused them of thinking that they had some God given right to interfere with his plans and of having sociopathic tendencies!
And Bhullar,in case you have forgotten, the Dame has your emails......
Here are some of the comments made by Bhullar to his neighbour…
·      you are an unsavoury character
·      did your mother drop you on your head as a child?
·      the value of your time is close to zero.

In a final email to his neighbour Bhullar facetiously ……addresses him thus ‘Hello Richard ole boy’
The attitude of our banker friend was very much ‘who are you to complain.’

Let’s hope that at tonight’s meeting our councillors start listening to the majority of residents.
Two large residents associations have vigorously objected.
Will they once again be ignored?
Anyway, the Dame will be reporting all this to her good friend and Bhullar's boss, Richard Gnodde.

  1. Typical of the behaviour of the spoilt children of Goldman Sachs. their own corporate culture is so vicious that it spills into their behaviour towards neighbours. We have one next to us too. They write the things you want to hear (just as Blankfein does, but behave quite the opposite, and when the anomaly is pointed out they behave like cornered scorpions.
Mr Balnkfein shouldn't allow his staff to behave like this with vicious emails. If even the residents of K&C find them impossible, what must the rest of the country think....

    1. Could the Dame publish a photo of this creep? He needs to recognised and ridiculed in the Royal Borough. We do not like his sort here.

    2. You wont find images of anyone at GS on google. They advise google and so there's been some deal whereby everything about anyone at GS has disappeared on google. Look at their website. You wont find a name, contact, photo. They always go unnoticed ... well, until their MDs start abusing the clients like this!

    3. I am afraid that is true. It is a very secretive company. It is paranoid about negative publicity esp since the crash. I would imagine this employee will have his 'exit managed' as they like to say.

  3. Tell me about it. We have a Goldman's couple opposite us in SW3. Treat the street like it is their own personal skip. And they're digging a basement so deep it'll probably come out in Auckland. What is it about Goldman Sachs?

  4. Mr Bhullar obviously doesn't mind having a shortened career at Goldmans. Emails get around so easily, and you never know who your neighbours are in this neck of the woods: half of them probably work there or they are clients. Bhullar sounds like a nasty piece of work.
Those houses look brand new! Looks like a vanity project for a gym and cinema, but making everyone else's life hell in the meantime.
What can the Council do though? They don't have the power to stop these basements. They could at least make them build in a way that doesn't ruin residents' lives. if anyone knows the Clarevilles, they are completely taken over by developments. How the residents manage to live there, I don't know

    1. Bhullar types give Goldman Sachs the sort of bad reputation that the Bank hates. They are their own worst enemy - employing low life like this.

    2. I should imagine he's walking the plank soon ... one thing about GS is that they'll get rid of you in an instant if you bring the company into disrepute. They like to keep in the shadows and out of the limelight.

  5. The unacceptable face of Goldman Sachs!

It is incredible that a client facing organisation like Goldman Sachs continues to permit public behaviour like this by senior staff. Roop Bhullar (where did that ridiculous name come from?) should be fired. Set an example to the other Goldman reptiles

  6. I just looked at the plans on the website. He originally wanted a roof terrace towering over the area too. A ten year old on google could see that the Council has been absolutely consistent in saying no to every such application and even made someone take one down. But i suppose that if you are doing God's work, you are special and deserve quite different treatment from everyone else.
He was poorly advised. Comes from using some third-tier architect trying to 'improve' on the work of a well-known and accomplished on...

  7. Clearly Mr Bhullar did not go to a good school. Never found out the meaning of "good manners". Sounds like he had a pretty awful family too. Never taught how to behave. Give a savage a few quid and they go wild

"The value of your time is close to zero". What an incredible comment! Sums up the attitude of self important puffers perfectly. Time for a fall, Bhullar. Your fall, mate.

  10. The PAC decision on this matter was made at a private meeting yesterday. So the committee meeting and statements by residents and their associations are meaningless. Conservative PAC members are told how to vote, along party lines, and almost always follow the party line. This is one obvious aspect of the scandal that is RBKC planning. A very few councillors refuse to be dictated to in this way. They have to resign from PAC, leaving the spineless in charge.

  11. No doubt some of God's money found its way into the back pockets of the Conservative Group of Councillors. This is a £3 million basement excavation. 1% of that is £30k. Nice little earner for socially mobile and acquisitive BMW types. And Roop won't even notice the rounding. His limits are set at 10%

The large number of objections to this basement application, shown on the Council website, and the strength of feeling of local residents, is quite extraordinary. It is to be hoped that the Ward Councillors, Cllr Coates, Cllr Elizabeth Rutherford, and Cllr Marshall will find time to speak at the Planning Applications Committee this evening at 6.30 in the Town Hall, and make the views of local residents known.

    1. Fingers crossed for the Courtfield Councillors tonight but the Planning Committee never consider impact on the lives of residents; ONLY the impact on the bank balances of developers.

  14. What we need should be simple: our Councillors to think and act independently in the interests of the residents and, in this case, the truly unfortunate neighbours.
Let us hope they do so tonight

  15. The committee line up this evening (6.30pm, Town Hall, Planning Applications Committee) is:

    Cllr Mackover (Chairman)
    Cllr Bakhtiear (L)
    Cllr Mills (C)
    Cllr Warrick (C)
    Cllr Williams (C)

The Chairman, Cllr Mackover (a depression sufferer) has been lambasted frequently in the Hornet for being lazy, arrogant and stupid. A Councillor who has never attended a training meeting about planning (arranged by Officers) and who has never attended a briefing meeting by Officers. Nor has he ever bothered to carry out site visits concerning applications like this one which are so vital to the lives of local residents. The Conservatives are "whipped" into position but the minority party (Cllr Bakhitier) can usually be relied on to take a public spirited view.

On this occasion Cllr Warrick, Chairman of the Major Planning Committee (who has also been lambasted by the Hornet) will be keeping an eye on his acolyte to make sure that he toes the Party Line. (Itself an outrage. Since when has "planning" been a Party Political matter?).

The person to watch is Cllr Mills. A Conservative, but her own person. She will pick her fight but has already gone into print to state that the Planning Committee is a joke. "As democratic as starched pampers".

As usual, a busy Agenda with 30 planning decisions. Councillors do not have a clue what any of it is about, they have been presented with tonnes of paper, and told how to vote by Mr Bore.

It is all Alice in Wonderland

  17. This is a great place for Book Saroop to run riot. Mr Book is from America - and should return forthwith, leaving we civilised Brits to our inefficiencies, hopelessness and leisure. The very height of civilisation which the books secretly crave for but failed to learn about at the Harvard Business School.

  20. It's extraordinary to read these things Mr Bhullar committed to print. Sounds like he loses his temper when crossed. Most of it looks like childish ranting. The extraordinary one is the dismissive condescension of 'the value of your time is close to zero'. He might as well have written 'I earn more than you, so there'. Any corporate culture that harbours that sort of view is rotten. Large income trumps decency, courtesy, community. Despite the outside view of RBKC we still have plenty of decent, honourable residents: such a shame that this sort of attitude corrupts the place

    ReplyDelete
  21. The behaviour of this man sums up all that is rotten in the financial sector. Why am I not surprised that he works for Goldman Sachs!
This has unfortunately already been recommended by. Bore and his planning department, who ignore residents. and the PAC committee just follows!
This is what happens when the councillors are complacent

    ReplyDelete
  22. Apparently the person Mr Bhullar was insulting is actually a BIG client of Goldman Sachs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  23. This is shocking. Are they going to give this guy permission? Surely not.

  24. Basements are bad enough, hugely disruptive, and the Council has been pathetic at helping residents continue to use their own homes; even worse when you have this sort of cartoon-vilain from Goldmans turning up an being so utterly offensive. Is he real? Do they really employ people who write that sort of stuff? Staggering

    ReplyDelete
  25. Blimey. Just read all the objections. RBKC really is like something pre-1832 Reform Act, isn't it? It seems like the officers have the councillors around their little fingers and the councillors who are in control are little Napoleons. Why dont the decent Conservative councillors organise and get rid of this shower? Is Conservative Central Office not aware of how bad things are at RBKC? What about Shapps? Looks worse as bad as Shirley Porter's Westminster or Joan Twelves' Lambeth.

So RBKC planning dept only stands up for the developers and the likes of Goldman Sachs bankers? Why could that be?

  26. Nasty piece of work, now watch the bleaters roll over, useless toothless bunch.

  27. The objectors, all three of them, have been granted a minute each to present their case against this recommendation for approval. The planning department continues to say this is "more than Hammersmith " allows. Well, we are not Hammersmith and it is about time the councillors realise the growing fury. Councillor Coleridge did when there were multiple applications on his very own street in Chelsea. All the applications were refused.

  28. As a former of Goldman Sachs can I say that not everyone who works there is as portrayed by this individual. There are some very good people there: honest, straight forward, down to earth. I can only apologise that GS have employed someone whom it is alleged wrote such abusive comments. Are we able to see letters/ emails in full Hornets' Nest?

  29. I assume Roop Bhullar is an Indian name by origin. That's not the point. I am from Dubai. All are welcome in Kensington & Chelsea. What is unacceptable is people coming in and using the place purely for the purposes of property development and not giving a damn about the impact of this on their neighbours. That is bad manners. Bad enough that they should then bully and harass anyone who stand up to them . But what is wrong is that the council do not stand up for residents many of whom have had to suffer these megabasement excavations for more than decade. I have lived on top of one and next to two in my part of earl's court for the past five years. The council spins to the world that it has cracked down on basements. It is not true. It is not true at all. Kensington and Chelsea is the Wild West. It's Dubai even! You can do what you like if you have mega money, and the council and the councillors will help you. After the third basement I went to see my councillor and he basically told me that the Council could bring in these traffic management strategies for a basement digging but the Director of Planning and the chair of the planning committees would not use them because they wanted to keep on the good side of the developers (the council gets lots of money from the digs apparently; into the millions.) People like my wife and I in our flat are considered the lowest of the low because we tried to get concessions on noise and times of building works. My wife even got trapped in the street in her car (four times) because the lorry from one of the sites used to get stuck because it was too big - and she was pregnant with our first at the time. What a shame it all is. Has anyone written to the British Prime Minister to let him know what his party is doing in this beautiful borough?
