It was Tim and Victoria Borwick who stood shoulder to shoulder with residents to prevent the vandalisation of Sloane Square.

I could not agree more. In Chelsea particularly Tim is incredibly highly regarded by resident associations and residents. He also does his best for the less affluent and the poor....unlike the ghastly Feilding-Mellen

ReplyDeleteThere are 2 former Councillors who battled tooth and nail to help Save Sloane Square who seem to be have been consigned to the dustbin of history by the Dame
Who were they? I am sure the Dame would be the first to highlight them.

To lose Tim C would be a disaster. His graciousness in withdrawing from the race should be rewarded rather more than the less gracious withdrawals of Mellen and Moylan.
ReplyDeleteColeridge will find it difficult to accept an inferior job after failing to find enough support to stand as Leader. Paget-Brown needs to chart a new course and a break from the past. He has to address the discontent from the younger backbenchers and can be expected to include as many as possible in the new Cabinet. Marshall, Mosely and Read are being considered. Fielding-Mellen is a self obsessed light weight and fortunately PB has shown no signs to date of being a social bounder, in thrall to the likes of Rocky.

DeleteCllr Lightfoot should carry on as Finance in the Cabinet - he is opposed to continued funding of Holland Park Opera. A real bruiser with energy and common sense is required to sort out the Planning Department. What a pity that Amanda Frame of the Kensington Society could not be co opted as Cabinet Member for Planning. Planning Director Bore's days seem to be numbered
ReplyDeleteTim Coleridge is one of the few Councillors who actually work with and for residents of this Borough, whether they are rich or poor. To loose this expertise would be idiotic and dangerous for the residents of this Borough.
ReplyDeleteThe world moves on. Coleridge has his strengths and he had the opportunity to offer himself for election as Leader. But he chose not to. He is part of the baggage of the past. Its a new world now and Paget-Brown needs to build for the future and not get bogged down by the past
