THE GREAT IRANIAN EMBASSY MYSTERY.....

Naïve and foolish organisations put out bad news on Bank Holidays, so why would the Rotten Borough put out good news on a Christmas public holiday. What a pointless exercise: all it does is excite the interest of the likes of Mira Bar-Hillel, the top ranking property journo.

In July 2010 the brutal Iranian regime put in a design for a new embassy. To remind you of its ghastliness here is the design.

You won't be surprised to know it found great favour with the Great Architect, Cllr Danny ‘Boys’ Moylan. 

Doubtless the finer design points were discussed over Persian pastries with Cllr Moylan…and officers.

Then utter silence…. not a word from Ayatollah’s man in London, nor the Rotten Borough. Every so often we were told that the application was still in play.

We now suspect that planning officers had been lying and that the application was withdrawn months ago. (The Dame will be pursuing this with an FOI)

So who is protecting this vile regime? Well, it appears the Iranians wanted to save face and appear not to have been beaten off by local residents and that champion of our interests, Mira Bar-Hillel.

In cahoots with the Leader of the Council and the Planning Dept the Iranians decided to withdraw the application sans a big song and dance….hence the decision to bury the news during the Christmas period.

One councillor, Mr Barkhordar, may provide some answers.....

As one leading resident association chairman wrote.....

“What is it about this State(Iran) that everyone makes excuses for? I can understand Cllr Barkhorder not wishing his family in Iran to be endangered putting his head above the parapet (as he explained to me) – although I believe he is here to serve the community first and foremost - but what about everyone else?

Is there no one at the Town Hall able or brave enough to stand up to this regime?”
