If Ali knew about this squalid email all that many of us knew and others suspected is confirmed.
It was sent out before last night's NW Branch meeting.
The email pulsates with anti-Semitism and the use of religion to divide communities.
IF Ali backs the sentiments in this email it shows he has no understanding of the constituency or the party he so claims to love.
He has been summoned to meet Party chiefs. It would be interesting to know what they think of this crude and inflammatory appeal to base human nature.
So, where do you stand on this email, Cllr Ali?

ReplyDeleteStill no condemnation on anti Semitism from Emma, Lari, or Kear through the official KLP social media and their personal accounts. Regardless of who sent it, they should unequivocally condemn anti Semitism asap.

DeleteThe horrible email has been going around political circles locally in the last week or so. People of various political persuasions have seen it. Most have rightly been appalled by it.
DeleteThe email doesn't originate from Ali or any other candidate but from a small but vocal hadnful of vulnerable residents who are being manipulated and used as attack dogs by a handful of people on the far left.
A couple members of Momentum and 2 other senior Labour councillors in particular have been egging these residents on and encouraging them.
Anyone who knows the political scene in North Kensington well will have seen what has been going on. Seasoned readers of this blog can easily guess who the 2 councillors are.
I can very well guess who wrote the email.

I am not saying that Emma is homophobic but I never understood why she told me in 2008, "Moylan is gay." As far as I know. Emma is straight and no one mentions that.

Whoever made the comment should be ashamed of themselves. It also wastes the Dame's time when she has to rake through comments such as that and similar on Lari. Very annoying.

It was sent from a resident all over North Kensington. There were also text messages of the same nature sent to various WhatsApp chat groups.

ReplyDeleteThey can’t control what residents choose to write in emails. It is quite obvious who the resident is that wrote it and they are ardent in their views of Mete Coban. Not to excuse any abhorrent views they may have expressed it is entirely their right to express their opinion. EDC, SL, DK, Kasim Ali and other Labour figures didn’t have anything to do with this email. Some locals won’t be able to get over this perceived injustice from Labour (having a candidate parachuted in)

The residents are previously of good character, & hadn't engaged in such activities before they became involved with Dent Coad, Lari & Kear,

ReplyDeleteDear oh dear, it would appear that Ian Henderson has been involved in a romantic relationship with Mete Coban for at least the last 8 months. He has also been mentoring Mete (along with senior Starmer Labour figures) and is heavily involved in his campaign, in return for companionship. They have cooked up a scheme to blame vulnerable local residents for last week’s antisemitic email (and make it appear that left wing Cllrs were controlling the residents) in order to boost Mete’s campaign and win over some support from some of the more wealthy/right wing residents in the NE branch of Kensington Labour ahead of next week’s selection meeting. They were due to go public with their (personal and professional) relationship once Mete had won the nomination but now that seems unlikely they have begun to let their guard down.
