    Dear Cllr Adourian

Please forward this email to your colleagues and if possible, add it to the minutes.

I intended to be at this meeting so regret having missed it. There’s nothing recent in my inbox. I saw it on The Hornet blog yesterday. Perhaps there was a notification several weeks ago.

Please add these comments to your deliberations. I refer to Portobello Rd: an area I’ve known for 60+ years.

    Agenda:

    2. FloodRe: Since 12.7.21 my insurance premium for a small (50sqm) garden flat has risen by 50%. FloodRe now covers this.

    3. Business: How business was affected: In Portobello, on one road junction 40 shop premises were surface and sewer flooded. Of these, 30 had flooded basements. Within 150m, approx. 90 more basements were flooded on 3 additional junctions.

Business Flood Risk: The Kurt Geiger shoe shop made its young female staff clean out its shop basement themselves. Kurt Geiger then closed.

Support for Businesses at Risk. None as far as I can see - and I’m the shopkeepers’ rep to the Market.

    4. Social Impacts on Residents: Devastating; but I doubt anyone knows.

Residents' Knowledge of Flood Risks: Residents know that when it happens again, they’ll be ignored again.

Resident Involvement in Mitigating Flood Risk: RBKC’s Flood Risk Management Working Group meetings are not publicised; so there is no involvement.

The Agenda omits: “Support for Residents at Risk.”

    Sincerely

    A. Resident (Mrs)
