A WELCOME REBELLION: A POLITICAL SAVANT PONDERS

In a week of momentous change when old certainties have disappeared it was good to spot a healthy turnout of Labour Councillors at Sunday's Kensington Proclamation of the new King at the V&A.

It was especially noticeable to see that many of them though not born in the UK are happy to demonstrate their loyalty to the British Monarchy.
Does this also demonstrate growing confidence and independence by the New Councillors in cutting the apron  strings from those fanatical Republican Cllrs
Dent Coad and Lari?
Under their leadership, Kensington Labour Party has repeatedly & vocally affiliated itself to 'Republic' the chief republican movement in the UK.

Does today's turnout by Labour Councillors in support of the new King perhaps presage a deeper change in the local party to reflect more mainstream views....views more closely aligned with the wider electorate and showing determination by Labour Councillors not just to be a 'backing group' for the personal whims of Emma Dent Coad & Sina Lari?
Such a change would not only be welcomed by the moderate majority of Labour supporters in Kensington but would certainly assist those new Councillors to gain support when they put their names forward in the contest next month to choose Kensington Labour's Parliamentary candidate.
Could September 2022 mark not just the greatly mourned end of the reign of Queen Elizabeth ll but the beginning of the end of that of Emma Dent Coad too?'

  1. Dent Coade and Sari need to tune in to the mood of the people. EDC is confused by all her complexes but Sari is a bright young boy and should know better

I always knew that Dent Coad would achieve nothing in public life. Like every socialist, she is entitled to oppose the monarchy: she's not as clever, convincing or as entertaining about it as the late Willy Hamilton. Now remember, this is the socialist who did for race relations what Enoch Powell could never do. Totally useless and vile.

    3. The Contessa is on the money. Enoch Powell never drew a picture of a black person being hanged.

    4. Dent Coad has good anti-monarchy credentials. Her hatred of Black and Jewish people leaves a great deal to be desired and I don't like it. I remember Britain in the 1950's.
      No Blacks,
      No Irish,

    5. Dear Mrs. Hornet,

Do you know anything about Emma Dent Coad sketching a black man being hanged? Sounds dreadful.

If any Tory did this, the Labour Party would be demanding that the racist scumbag's head rolled.

Do you what happened when the Labour Party disciplined EDC and why she was not expelled?

      Delete
    6. She was not disciplined by the Labour Party. Diane Abbott MP let her off and bought her cake to celebrate getting away with racism in the House of Commons' Tea Room

    7. Does Emma Dent Coad like anyone? Let me count the ways.

She doesn't like the monarchy: she wants it abolished.
She doesn't like Black People: she drew a picture of a Black man being hanged and posted it on the web.
She says she only repeated the hateful remarks made to her by a Black person when she posted those prejudicial comments on the web. We only have her word for supposedly repeating racist remarks made to her by a Black person.
She doesn't like Jewish people: she supported an anti-semitic trope by saying Israel brings shame on every Jewish person.
She dislikes Juliet Rawlings MBE and Reg Kerr Bell; just because they are Tories.
She could not find it in her miserable heart to express sorrow when the Community Activist, Francis O'Connor, died. She did not like him: he had more vitality in his little finger than she has in the whole of her body. He did more for Grenfell Tower than she ever did despite her serving on all of these Housing Committees at the Council when Grenfell residents were in conflict with the TMO & the Council.
She does not like Sam Gymiah.
She does not like Labour politicians, Ian Henderson, Judith Blakeman or Robert Atkinson. They are brighter than her and posed a threat so Ian and Robert were deposed.

    8. Emma likes Corbyn - no messing. He hankers for soviet imperialism and blames the existence NATO for Putin's invasion and genocide in Ukraine.

Now come on Emma, condemn Corbyn. Corbyn is an apologist for Putin. For god sake, women are the casulaties of this war in Ukraine and, according to Liz Truss, "rape is a weapon of this war; prosecuted by Putin.

  2. Dressing up like Harry Potter, parroting 'God save the King' and then giving three cheers to the unelected head of state puts people more in line with mainstream opinion - what is the basis of this claim Dame? Or is it just a feeling you have because you want it to be so?

    1. The Dame is ambivalent about the matter. You need to address the question to Political Savant. For many centuries, apart from the short lived republic(which ended badly) we have had a monarchy. The Queen seemed a rather popular figure but I suppose you would like to make president little Mr Corbyn, jam maker extraordinaire.

    2. Your correspondent is wrong . Far be it that in participating in 'the King Making ' the new Labour Group were demonstrating independence of the Dent Coad/ Lari leadership . They were actually there in their usual capacity as 'backing group' for the leader . Believe it or not Dent Coad actually led her group to 'bend the knee' to the new king . ( This from the woman who previously revelled in her leading role in 'Republic' and notoriously claimed that the Royal pilots couldn't really fly ). Has the death of the Queen brought Ms Dent Coad to her senses in acknowledging the popularity of the principle of Monarchy ? Far more likely that in belatedly seeking to demonstrate her popularist credentials she hopes that 'the powers that be' in Starmer's Labour Party will overlook her past transgressions and let her stand for selection as Labour candidate for Kensington. Problem is that even if the National Labour Party are inclined to forget her previous sins - neither the Tories nor the electorate are that merciful. The one thing the electorate cannot stand is a hypocrite

    4. If the jam maker was up against the arms dealer (KC3) I would vote for him. But in a real democracy, after the monarchy, other candidates might emerge. It's not about getting one faction into power, it's about the principle of choosing our own head of state and being able to hold them to account.

  3. RBKC Council is not in tune with residents and what is going on in the world of affairs. The Council is an inward looking bunch of councillors consumed by self interest and self promotion. This is a failure by the Leader, dizzy Campbell, to set the right tone. She is a disgrace

  4. In today's world Leadership is really, really, really important. It is the single most important thing that can build social society and create a cohesive culture. And help to bring disparate groups and opinions into a tolerant whole. When influential positions such as the Leadership of the Royal Borough falls into unworthy hands it is a calamity for society. The Councillors who elected Cllr Campbell as Tory Leader should be ashamed of themselves.

  5. Clear The Swamp is correct. It is unbelievable that the Council did not publicise the prayer service for the Queen at our parish church (St Mary Abbots) nor did the Leader attend, nor did any of the Councillors. This is not a Leadership that has any interest in the world of affairs, civic duty or local society. Hornton Street is an expensive tax payer funded overhead that is dedicated to furthering the personal interests and ambitions of dizzy. Shame on the Tories

    2. Weird comment from "Resident". Sounds like the sort of person who lives with a talking budgie for company. Of course the Council should know about a Parish service to pray for the Queen at the end of 70 years of service. And the service should have been given publicity by the £1million per year PR Department in Hornton Street. The Mayor attended the service in full gear and welcomed residents at the door of the church with the vicar. So the Town Hall DID know about the service. But no Leader present. And no Councillors. A powerful signal about what is not important in the Tory culture in Kensington and Chelsea

  9. The overwhelming impression of those waiting to pass the Queen in Westminster is their dignity and respect for a great Monarch. In stark contrast with the so very out of touch local Government organisation in Kensington and Chelsea. Cllr Campbell has failed to set the tone, has failed to give a good example, and has failed her Office.

We know that the Tory Councillors read this blog. They have done so, in droves, ever since they were ordered not to read the Hornet by disgraced ex Cllr Sir Pooter Cockle. It is a pity that these Tory Councillors continue to ignore the arguments and observations that repeatedly highlight the ongoing failure of Leadership by Cllr Campbell. It is time for her to be dumped.

Dear Dame, I have had my attention drawn to your Hornet Nest. May I report my great annoyance at being pestered by some irritating woman claiming to lead the Council. From memory, her name was Camping or some such. At any rate, my wife and I were enjoying a quiet afternoon at our Sheltered Home when the door bell persistently rang. Upon opening I found Cllr Camping outside holding a large Condolence Book and accompanied by a man with a camera. I told her to bugger off and take her book with her. This sort of publicity gimmick is damned irritating. Does the woman have nithing else to do but pester people?

I never could abide that Dent Coad woman. Little Miss Perfect who was far from perfect when she was on the TMO Board. Unable to work with fellow Board Members for the good of tenants and totally useless when approached by tenants who asked for her help. The only ones that she could get along with were her marxist mates, Corbyn and Abbott.

  12. Cllr Campbell is well known for ignoring her Civic Duties when social functions, sailing with the Cowes Yacht Club and Westminster opportunities are given priority. She missed the service of prayers for the Queen at St Mary Abbots last Friday due to a sailing jolly at Cowes. A few days earlier she could not find time for the 10 year anniversary ceremony of the Japanese Garden in Holland Park. The RBKC Mayor attended and from Tokyo there was a Minister, other dignitaries and the Japanese Mayor. Plus, of course, the Japanese Ambassador to London.

No chance of preferment or social climbing there for dizzy. So she was not present.
