AN INSIDER SHARES ON ISSE

Colville had 3 excellent Labour councillors: Henderson; Nail and Press. The then EDC wing of the Labour group took exception to the 3 working with Tories to help Grenfell survivors. The councillors were forced out at the last local elections. Their replacements are:
*The rarely seen Bahktiar;
*The speaking only into his moustache: Benton and
*The silent and invisible to most residents: Isse.
This is the THINK GOOD VIEW

Perhaps Cllr Isse was busy advising and assisting Somali residents.

Now it seems she is "leaving" Labour to join the
Conservatives. This raises several issues; e.g. was she ever a Labour member?

How will residents know what she thinks since she's neither seen nor heard?

Does she even exist? Perhaps the true answer is that the Conservatives would welcome any councillor who is simultaneously silent and will vote with them.

On the other hand, how will her Somali residents know what she is or isn't doing?

Finally, how does anyone go from EDC to E. Campbell in a single leap?

Even by N. Kensington standards; this whole thing is weird.....

a further insightful comment...

Somali Dahabo Isse is a careerist who has been trying to make a name for herself in politics since the early 1990s.

When the free-flowing humanitarian aid cash dried up for her in Mogadishu, she turned her attention to the unassuming voters of Colville (in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea, in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, mind you), who have unfortunately now paid a heavy price for voting for her.

Nabbed herself a taxpayer funded social rented property in Kensington, a seat on the council, and a British passport as the glacé cherry on top of her very large, very sour, freeloading cake.

There seems to be a pattern at RBKC of Somalis trying to make a name for themselves and getting involved in British politics as a way to impress their mates and gain special access to the housing waiting list.

Cllr Kasim Ali has been doing the same thing for 5 years now. Dahabo Isse has her fingers in many pies at RBKC and sure enough is looking to get her CV as big as possible, as soon as possible.
Dahabo Isse publicly admits on social media that she is “Willing to become an MP in the UK in the near future”
That tells you everything you need to know.

We had Kasim Ali vs Mete Coban in 2022 which was a real low point for the innocent voters of Kensington but Kasim Ali vs Dahabo Isse at the general election after next will be HILARIOUS!

Someone ought to look into why Somalis see fit to meddle in UK politics - and why the problem is so rife at RBKC. No doubt the local Tory hypocrites will be lapping this up as a victory. Too bad Isse isn’t permitted to drink the FREE champagne they’ll be sharing at the next full council to toast her betrayal to the local, indigenous Colville population. Lord have mercy

The Labour Party does not seem to be managing this very well. Dent Coad is loving it, she will use all these goings on and defections to tell Labour voters that the Kensington CLP is not fit for purpose to get people to vote for her. There are Labour Party members running to her with tales. Some discipline needs to be imposed or Joe Powell will suffer a monumental shafting.

  2. Cllr Isse is the Conservative Party’s problem. There are some Conservative Party members expecting ‘issues’ down the road.

  3. Council leader Elizabeth ‘Dizzy’ Campbell, leader of
Kensington and Chelsea Borough Council said, "She is a fantastic community champion for the residents of Colville ward and our whole borough, and we welcome her decision to join the only team focused on delivering for the people of Kensington and Chelsea'.

Cllr Isse represents the Conservative Party. The Conservative Party have to take responsibility of her actions (or lack of action).

    1. As a person who has long taken considerable interest in North Kensington politics, I concur with the author of the primary entry on this thread; that the lady is invariably missing in action

    2. As one with some experience of North Kensington politics, I can confirm that Cllr Isse invariably seems to be 'missing in action.' Despite this, she doubtless collects her full allowance for chronic non-attendance. This is grossly unfair to residents.
The Conservatives welcome her, because many locals automatically vote Labour. Her name is associated with Labour. So her change of party will barely be noticed, leaving the Tories to pick up votes they'd never otherwise receive. All highly dubious.

    3. The Colville votes usually go in whichever candidate boxes have "Labour Party Candidate" written beside
them. Isse does not live in North Kensington and had no name for herself in the area. Now she is known as a shallow Tory turncoat. The Tories are greatly mistaken if they imagine she has any kind of popularity and personal vote, she's not Monica Press!

  4. This Somali woman claims to have ‘campaigned against civil war in Somalia’.

Clearly not a problem for her to be causing a civil war in Kensington, UK though. There are more pressing issues in her homeland which require her attention. She is not wanted or needed in Kensington & Chelsea

  5. Dear Dame,

Your correspondent mentions the Mete Coban affair. May we please have a precis of that outlining all the shenanigans including the homophobic ones.

    1. Wasn't there an antisemitic email from supporters of EDC & Ali doing the rounds?

      Delete
    2. No, there was an anonymous email which wasn’t antisemitic, and which made absolutely no mention of EDC or Kasim, that was sent by someone from Labour HQ on (conveniently) the day of the planned labour shortlist selection, in order to cause problems for Kasim Ali who was mistakenly seen as Emma’s running mate despite her not supporting him (either publicly or privately) to become the Labour candidate.

Next time check your facts before making foolish insinuations.

    3. Do you mean Cllr Mete Coban MBE co-founder of My Life My Say in 2013. He set up the All-Party Parliamentary Group on a Better Brexit for Young People and contributed to the increase of youth voter registration in the UK 2017 General Election through the national #TurnUp campaign. At the age of 21, Mete was elected as the youngest ever Councillor in the London borough of Hackney for Stoke Newington. He currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Working in Hackney scrutiny commission.

    4. Oh come now pants on fire @11:02 That nasty letter titled 'get a socialist elected in Kensington' and campaigning for Kasim Ali was vile and nasty. The authors of that letter are now part of EDC's campaign. What a coincidence

    5. 11.02. I would not take EDC's word for it that there was no antisemitic email. I've heard talk of homophobia too.

    6. Tell me your company and I'll tell you who you are. EDC was around antisemitism so much by being so close to Jeremy Corbyn MP and Diane Abbott MP. EDC did not realise what antisemitism was because it pervaded the Corbyn - Abbott circle at every turn. So, if EDC says there was no antisemitic email, a healthy dose of scepticism is needed. Diane is so obsessed with Black issues that she failed to acknowledge the death of 6 million jews just a few years before she was born. Instead, she tried saying that as jews were not discriminated against in apartheid South Africa that they were not subjected to racism.

    7. 18:33 who were the authors of the letter if you’re so sure they’re tied to EDC’s campaign? Name them, smartass.

  6. Dahabo Issey is a burden and a failure for non Somali residents and businesses. We need cllrs who care about those of us, all of us, living and working HERE, not some foreign country, or only the immigrants from there. Why aren't ambitious would be councillors screened for Special Interests that will not serve the wider population? She and similar other Labour Cllrs with too narrow special interests who ignore everything else are the main reason why I will not vote Labour despite wanting a Keir Starmer government to have a chance at governing.

    6. For some of the more despondent Conservative MPs, who privately admit they would prefer to be put out of their misery sooner rather than later, it is more a case of willing a Spring general election rather than actually believing that Sunak will go for it. As one put it: “We need to rip the plaster off now because it is only going to get worse. It’s going to be an ever-increasing narrative of shit.” https://www.politicshome.com/news/article/the-penny-has-dropped-for-many-tory-mps
