THE LIES OF GREG HANDS

Greg Hands has done the dirty on his constituents.

He pulled the wool over our eyes by giving the impression that he was 100% opposed to the redevelopment of  Marks & Spencer.

He never was. We all knew M&S were discussing with the developers staying on-probably in a totally emasculated form.

Hands had bugger all to do with the decision.

Instead of conning us all he should have been fighting hard to stop the development.

This constituent sums up what many of his constituents feel. Greg by this ploy has screwed up his chances of keeping his seat.

Dear Greg

Thank you for this message.
You may be "delighted" to share this "fantastic" news, but I think the decision by the council to allow this grotesque redevelopment is a hammerblow to the character and style of King's Road. I naively signed your petition trusting that you were aligning yourself with your constituents in campaigning against the development itself.
I must be more careful in future in reading what I sign!

My understanding was that Marks & Spencer had wanted to retain a presence on King's Road all along.  If my understanding is correct it's hard to see how this result can be characterised as a victory.

Kind regards

  1. Shocking. We cannot trust current representatives

  2. Hands is great at siding with the great and the good. He had no problem siding with residents of the Piper Building in Fulham over Thames Water's new sewer system. Residents of that Luxury Block of Flats objected to the siting of a ventilation shaft near by. Hands made much fuss about what he described as a "stink hole." Those well heeled property owners in the Piper Building are more likely to vote Tory than those living in Council flats in Chelsea.

Hands always shied away from taking on Kensington and Chelsea Council; that bastion of Conservative virtue. If he had made the same fuss for Council tenants who complained to him about the serious failings of the Kensington and Chelsea TMO (which was rotten to the core) then the TMO's would have been stopped dead in its tracks and 72 people may not have died at Grenfell. Emma Dent Coad has come in for much criticism over the TMO but Hands should not be allowed to escape unscathed.

    1. As useless and 2 faced as l believe Greg Hands to be , it is RBKC Council who will always be held responsible for the Grenfell fire. As slippery as an eel Hands may be and certainly the willing servant of the rich but it is Cockell+ Fielding Mellon & Chief Executive Myers who are the principal architects of the totally unnecessary austerity and social cleansing that led to Grenfell.

    2. 17.38. Hands may not be directly culpable, but he is culpable, over the TMO. He paid lip service to the complaints brought to him by the many Council tenants about the TMO. He sided with his Tory cronies at the Town Hall.

Judith Blakeman and Emma Dent Coad are similarly culpable for being on the TMO Board for years giving succour to the Tory sham of Tenant Management.

  3. Tory Party Chairman Sides With Big Monied Interests.7 October 2023 at 11:44

I am not surprised that Hands has "done the dirty" on his constituents over the M&S redevelopment in Chelsea. He is a Tory - Tory Party Chairman, no less.

Big moneyed interests trump the interests of those who vote for him. So, he runs with the hare and keeps with the hounds and seeks people's votes once again.

    Voters you have been warned.

    1. I always thought Bank carefully husbanded their funds, so why did Hands get a bung?7 October 2023 at 13:57

I've often wondered what one has to do to be given a huge monthly retainer by a Bank.

But MORE IMPORTANTLY, what did the French Bank get for all the money it paid to The Rt. Hon. Greg Hands MP?

Banks are not known for altruism.

Bad optics, smells fishy, it stinks to high heaven.

  5. What a shitty thing to do.9 October 2023 at 13:13

It was despicable of Hands failing to back his voters unconditionally without deceiving them hook, line and sinker over his true desires for M&S in the King's Road.

    1. Emma Dent Coad has done the same thing. She spoke publicly for remaining in the EU but the major EU think tank refused to endorse her as a "remainer" because they knew what she was insincere on the EU. Corbyn was always anti EU.

    2. EDC's political career in K & C will finally be over after the General election when the results come in.
She will lose of course but if she costs Powell a win then she'll have to go back to the councillor job and face angry residents on a regular basis. She's far too thin skinned to deal with that.
