You horrid, spiteful old thing.
In two years time, Dizzy Lizzie Campbell is standing down.
Her plan is to coincide this move with the defeat of the Tory government and a forlorn hope that Rishi will give her a peerage in the Dissolution Honours List.
And why would Rishi reward someone in the 'Cabinet'(what pretension!) at the time of the Grenfell disaster?
No, Dizzy...this is not going to happen!
The people of Kensington and beyond would not tolerate this insult.
So, who will fill the void?
Already Cllrs Cem Kemahli and Thalassites are on manoeuvres so can we look forward to a latter-day Greco-Turkish war of words as both try to secure the £70,000 part-time salary.

ReplyDeleteWhy on earth would anyone give E Campbell a peerage . She has achieved nothing in her accidental time as Council Leader and has not covered herself in glory in the aftermath of Grenfell . In point of fact were it not for her good fortune in being out of the Country yachting when the Grenfell fire happened she would have joined the rest of that discredited Cabinet in passing into oblivion . Joan Hanham deserved a peerage, Shereen Ritchie merited a peerage . But Dizzy Campbell ?- l think not

DeleteAfter the success of their "Stop the Boats Week" during which record numbers of asylum seekers made it across the Channel, and sadly some didn't, inmates had to be taken off the controversial and extremely expensive Stockholm Bibby barge because they didn't bother to check the result of tests for legionella, and then the Tory Party descended into infighting. The government is now moving straight onto ... "NHS Week". What remarkable achievements will they have in store for us? It’s the strikes (nothing to do with us) that mean people are waiting longer. It’s the last government (Boris) that promised 40 new hospitals that we haven’t built. Etc.

DeleteYour calculated use of dehumanising and alarmist language only underpins failing policy. The government is right: we do need to fix our ‘fundamentally broken asylum system’. First, there is the work (that should have already been carried out) to cut the massive backlog. That would have increased the numbers working (and paying tax) and reduced the hotel bills (the tax payer is picking up). The Home Office needs to pull it's f****** finger out!
‘On Tuesday, Lee Anderson said asylum seekers that don’t like barges should “fuck off back to France”. Cheltenham’s Conservative MP, Alex Chalk, quickly defended Anderson’s Fuck Off Back to France Initiative, calling the language “salty”, and choosing to misunderstand the fact that asylum seekers can’t be deemed illegal migrants until they have been processed. In reality of course, asylum seekers cannot fuck off back to France as Mr Anderson’s Fuck Off Back to France Initiative suggests because a) their status has not been processed and b) the mechanism allowing us to fuck unprocessed asylum seekers back off to other EU member states no longer applies because of fucking Brexit. DeleteThe Telegraph reports (today), even Priti Patel is opposing government plans and that a government memo says the migrant crisis ‘to last at least five more years’.
The two bases at Wethersfield in Essex and Scampton in Lincolnshire have been earmarked to take 3,700. The Home Office is “still working” on plans to house another 1,000 at former HMP Northeye on the outskirts of Bexhill in east Sussex.
The former home secretary Priti Patel has accused the government of being “secretive” and “evasive” about plans to house asylum seekers on a disused RAF base. Priti Patel said there has been an ‘alarming and staggering’ lack of clarity about how long RAF Wethersfield will be used to house asylum seekers.
The memo also indicates that the barge at Portland, Dorset would only provide value for money if its capacity was for 1,000 rather than the current plan for up to 500.
Priti Patel has demanded answers from Suella Bravermen, the current home secretary.
