SUNAK'S SADNESS

Having a coffee with an MP the other day the Dame made a very good point(yes, she's not shy.... that one).

The point was that Sunak is competent and smart enough to run a FTSE 100 company but that begged the question as to how many of his Cabinet colleagues would he employ.

Certainly, not the likes of  Shapps, the Secretary of State for Business whose 'business' a decade ago was considered well dodgy.

So that's the sadness of Sunak...probably one of the cleverest Prime Ministers we have had in years but backed up by nonentities.

He has nothing to lose by a massive overhaul and replacing the dire with younger and cleverer colleagues.

Incidentally, his piece in the Telegraph today about the miss-selling of useless degrees was spot on.

The young are being conned by corrupt and greedy 'academics'.

  1. It is too dangerous to be an MP these days. If a woman you have never met claims that you patted her bottom 10 years ago your career is finished, even if it is proved 2 years later that she was lying.

What is needed is a huge clear out & clear up of the Conservative Party. This requires time out of power a move back to the centre ground of politics & someone decent with the balls to get rid of all the bad tabloid fodder jokes ultra right thugs, corrupt crap & remaining robots with no opinions of their own that overpopulate that side now No chamce of that happening soon .

    1. If Labour can do it, the Tories can.19 July 2023 at 18:06

It can be done, One Nation Ex Tory.

Starmer cleared out the socialist dross who wanted to throw their stupid marxist spanners in the works.

      We have seen:-
      Corbyn - shafted
      Abbott - shafted
Webbe - shafted for harassing a woman over her man.
      Dent Coad - shafted.

    2. Corbyn, Abbott, Webbe and Dent Coad all rode the crest of a socialist wave four years ago to end up as detritus today.

    3. One nation Tories
are abundant in the electorate in these parts but scarce in frontline politics nowadays. Labour's move back to the centre plus the Tories lurch to the right and the shameful conduct of government means a chance for Powell and Coleman to win the votes of the politically homeless ex Tories .

I hope Powell makes it. I hope Coleman shafts Hands too.

  4. Hands says he is disappointed with the Tories losing Somerset and Frome and, Selby and Ainsty.

Hand only has 8100 majority in Chelsea and Fulham. He will be disappointed when he personally loses that next year.

We don't need a staid Tory "yes" man.

    1. Hands wants to do untold damage to this country.21 July 2023 at 10:26

Now don't forget Hands is the one who wants to welcome Boris Johnson back to the Commons. Boris, the liar, the womaniser, the lockdown criminal and the man who cannot grasp the basic details of the Prime Ministerial brief.

    2. The bird and the bum's rush21 July 2023 at 16:24

The Labour Party banned Emma Dent Coad as a parliamentary candidate after she said, "My Socialism is Corbyn's socialism."
The Country had its say on Corbyn's socialism in 2019. The country did not want it and gave Corbynism "the bird." Those facts were wasted on Dent Coad who wanted Corbynism. Hardly surprising that the Party under Starmer gave Dent Coad the bum's rush.

Hands wants Johnson back. The Tory Party saw Johnson off and replaced him with Liz Truss. It is time the Tory Party took a leaf out of Labour's book and showed Hands the door.

The Tories are stale and dried up in Chelsea and Fulham.

    4. Hand is good at representing the interests of monied residents in The Piper Building. He is not so willing to take on the Kensington and Chelsea Tory Council over social housing. Hopefully, Coleman will clean up and Hands will be toast.

    5. Out on his ear.23 July 2023 at 07:41

      That's right!

The higher they come, the harder they fall. You could not get any higher than Emma Dent Coad who claimed to be "aristocratic" when she was viperish about Prince Harry. Emma rode "the crest of a socialist wave" with Corbyn for two long miserable years, and just look at her now.

Hands' majority in Chelsea and Fulham is 8,100 votes and, showing him the door is possible. Chelsea's voters will take a dim view of Hands obsequious toadying to Boris Johnson wanting him back in parliament.

Labour needs to mobilise people in Chelsea Riverside, (World's End Estate, Cremorne Estate, Sir Thomas More Estate, and the Guinness Trust) to put Gregory (who tries to play down his toffiness by calling himself Greg) out on his ear. It will be an uphill struggle but it is feasible. Boris had a similar majority in Uxbridge and look how that majority was wiped out in the by-election.

    6. If Hands is to be shafted at the General Election, Labour had better be in no doubt that all that Tory lot in Royal Hospital and Stanley Wards will break their necks to vote for Hands.

Labour needs to pull something pretty dramatic out of the hat to entice Labour voters.

How about a 10% Wealth Tax on 171 billionaires with it enshrined in the legislation that off shore funds are part of the wealth calculation. This will bring around £68 billion.

    7. For the needy, not the greedy.24 July 2023 at 06:00

Wealth Tax the 171 billionaires to help the nation's finances - a very good idea. That means that most people would not be paying any extra.

The "enterprising economy" (as Jacob Rees Mogg likes to call it) has been very good to the wealthy. As they have done so nicely over the last forty years, now is the time for them to put their hands in their pockets and contribute. They will still be wealthy after paying up. The Tory Government would rather cut the social security of the poor to give to the rich.

Hands the Tory "yes man," would like that.

  5. Sunak and Hands are sure to be shafted.
