STOP A SAUDI BILLIONAIRE RUINING OUR ROAD: SAVE KING'S ROAD.

 

This is Osama Al Haddad, the owner of the Marks and Spencer site in King's Road. He lives between Jeddah and Dubai.

It is doubtful he even knows where Kings Road is. What he does know is that he can make hundreds of millions by knocking down the much-loved store and replacing it with hundreds of bolt-holes for global ill-gotten gains. This monolithic monster will peer out over the surrounding area in an aggressive and out-of-context way.

Years ago, Lordly Moylan put forward a plan to turn Sloane Square into a crossroads. The Council only screeched to a halt when Doctor James Thompson said he would stand for the Council!

It would be just about bearable if this US company didn't salt its vast profits away offshore.

Instead Uber insults us further by littering our pavements with its garish bikes. 

Sometimes two or three block our pavements.

If you park on pavements you pick up a fine: Uber seems to have carte blanche to use our pavements as parking lots.

Why has the Council not forced Uber to have parking bays? Santander has to... why not Uber.

Come on Council do something....our pavements don't belong to some greedy US corporation.

THE DEMISE OF DOUGLAS & GORDON....AND THE LESSONS TO BE LEARNT

Over 42 years Michael Hodgson built Douglas and Gordon into one of the most respected names in C. London agency.

D&G was especially prominent in K&C. It was noted for being different to the large chains.  

Douglas & Gordon people sparkled with integrity and enthusiasm: that was down to Hodgson's leadership and skill at choosing the right people.

His one fatal error was to try to meld two cultures...a gentlemanly and 'Cazenove' style of service with the self-serving/self promoting greed of Foxtons.

Douglas&Gordon has been sacrificed on the altar of greed and short-termism.

Once again the wishes of residents are ignored and a monster 33-storey tower will dominate this enclave. Khan hates RBK&C but in this instance RBKC planners have endorsed the scheme: unsurprising as our planner love and vote for Khan.

The firm will build 462 apartments across seven new blocks for joint venture developer MARK and Seven Capital.

The tallest block on the corner of West Cromwell and Warwick Road, will rise up to 33-storeys, making it one of the tallest buildings in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.

NOT ANOTHER BLOODY RESTAURANT IN PORTOBELLO RD

There is a planning application to convert an antique arcade into yet another restaurant. As usual an excellent piece from our friends at THINK Please read LINK THINK is the thinking persons alternative to the Dame. By the way, one of the directors behind the application is one Warren Todd which should give everyone greater reason to stop it.

The very long arcade that runs from 65/7 Portobello Rd through a very long back garden to 76 Kensington Park Rd is currently the subject of a planning application to convert it into a very large restaurant.

This will run along the back gardens of 7 buildings and the noise etc will affect the lives of numerous families. 

For the wider community, the loss of yet another antique arcade will seriously degrade what is an antique trades destination

CHELSEA GREEN & THE CASE OF THE HATED £500,000 FOUNTAIN

 

The Dame's friends know behind the expensive Heathfield veneer she is really very vulgar. 

However, even the Dame had to admit this strange-looking fountain was just the height of vulgarity. Exactly the sort of hideous thing Milord Moylan would treasure. 

Talking of treasure let us look at the cost of this folly....yes, £500,000....the cost of a house and the Dutch built benches behind were another £100,000

It is not just the vulgar abuse of our money but the fact that 'place making'(ghastly term) has aroused universal scorn and hatred.

The comments here on NEXTDOOR prove beyond doubt that a very serious and expensive error has been made here.

A CROOKED GOVERNMENT

The various email exchanges between Hancock and his seedy, grubby advisers show how they planned to terrify and control the public.  

This government has reached 'end of days'.

Terrifying the general public into submission is redolent of some authoritarian dictatorship. 

More extraordinary is the role Osborne-a friend of a sanctioned Russian oligarch, took in advising Hancock on how to finesse his affair!

Our MP, Felicity Buchan hails from North East Scotland....the land of Wee Free Presbyterianism. 

She might have words to say about the activities of this den of vipers....but silence was the stern reply.

Felicity? If the Dame might be so familiar....it is about time you told us what you thought of the immorality of this government instead of pretending everything in the garden was rosy.

And, just in case you think the Dame is for ignoring yesterday 856 of your voters popped by and 352 @ 9:42 today so over 1000 projected.

 

RBKC TELLS DOCTORS...'ON YER BIKE'

It is increasingly difficult to get doctors in the Borough to do home visits and now it is likely to become impossible.

Why?

Because the 102 doctors in the Borough will no longer have access to a resident parking permit. 

Instead, the Council has told them to use public transport or join a car club.

For a doctor, a car is an essential working tool. Even more so for those who cannot afford to live in the Borough and need to commute in and do home visits.

To deprive them of access to a permit is sheer madness. 

One doctor told the Dame that it was hard enough recruiting doctors and this move raises the bar even higher.

This is a crazy idea: of the 35,000 permits issued doctors are a minute proportion.

The deputy leader who is a fount of commonsense should bash this idiotic idea on the head.

A SHOCKING LUNCH WITH AN EMINENT KC

Today the Dame lunched with eminent KC and judge( Lucio in Fulham Rd....a very good set menu)

The Dame's chum is not one of those ghastly Leftie lawyers that so infest the Inns of Court but a man of solid establishment credentials and a hard rider to hounds to boot.

Imagine the Dame's distress when her friend announced he was no longer able to vote for a greedy, dissembling bunch of liars and cheats and that he would be voting Labour.

This government certainly knows how to make enemies.
