Every so often a planning officer's life becomes so entwined with a dodgy project the old Dame has to say "cool the ardour..."

Yes, Mrs Gentry...this is directed at you and your eagerness to help the mysterious Swiss property developer Harry 'Bimbo' Hart.

The developer is a fund owned by multi-millionaire Swiss-based Brit Harry "Bimbo" Hart.  Bimbo's sinister dad was a Maggie Thatcher 'Mr Fixit'.

Now Bimbo is trying to convince us that we need a new care home managed by his ultra-luxury KYN operation. 

At the last committee meeting he persuaded fellow private equity fund multi-millionaire Robert Darwent's wife Julia to tell her sob story about not finding suitable accommodation for her mother. 

Life is tough even for those worth over a hundred million....

The Dame has dealt extensively with Bimbo MYSTERIOUS BIMBO and his very odd father. It's worth reading.

On Tuesday Bimbo and his team are back again. As usual, RBKC planning officer Sarah Gentry is again all too eager to lend her shoulder to Bimbo's wheel.

A double basement was approved for a 2016 proposal for a neurological care centre. This is still apparantly to be approved for a care home housing dementia patients in a deep and dark basement with no neurological care centre in sight. 

Why does Planning Officer Sarah Gentry keep quiet about the expert report commissioned by civically minded residents? 

Their damming report radically contradicts the noise, light and environmental assessments in every aspect. 

Outlandishly, Gentry makes the outrageously untrue claim this ultra-luxury care home would support the Council's housing plans and address the shortage of beds in the borough! Obviously, Bimbo's PR team fed Gentry that little gem....

It seems that is sad multi-millionaires also suffer from the housing shortage.

And on top of all this we are led to believe that housing dementia patients in the basement is acceptable because there is a little light well for natural light...  yes, in the basement... 

Sarah also finds that the multitude of RBKC policies in this conservation area should be ignored for an extra 5 rooms. Those extra basement rooms are critical for the profitability of the site we are told. 

The proposal has had more than double the number of objections than support and the supposed 'supporters' all look artificially 'harvested' by Team Bimbo.

If planning officers are going to take what corporate planning applicants tell them as bible without considering recognised experts' opinions why we need planning officers in the first place? 

Is it incompetence or something worse?  We do not know. 

We wish local residents, the adjacent Kensington United Reform Church, ESSA, the Kensington Society and all those opposing the best of luck.

A few months back Eva Jedut threatened the Dame with the full might of English justice.

MAN THE PUMPING STATIONS THIS TIME, THAMES WATER!

Thames Water..... this Tuesday storms are forecast over London. Are you ready this time?

On July 12th last year thousands of residents were flooded with sewage just because Thames Water had left the pumps unmanned so floodwater was unable to be pumped away.

Let us hope the hopelessly badly managed Thames Water has learned the lesson and will have engineers on standby at all pumping stations.

CLLR CAMPBELL WANTS YOU TO 'CELEBRATE' WINDRUSH DAY WITH HER....PASS THE SICK BAG!

These sad and transparent attempts to appear 'relevant' are so embarrassing. 

The £1 million a year PR team is so short of anything to do it comes up with crass ideas like this. 

It patronises both black and white residents: it is hideously embarrassing. Black people see straight through this gimmick.

THE DESELECTION OF 'THE SELECT'

Dear Dame, 

This year's intake of RBKC  councillors has to be the weakest on record. 

Most are unknown, some are parachuted in from elsewhere and have next to no local connections, and most of the good hard-working  councillors have either retired or been deselected.  

Both the Conservative and Labour Parties have completely lost the plot, deselecting some truly great councillors.  

Labour deselected Ian Henderson, Nadia Nail and Pat Healy and caused Monica Press and Robert Atkinson to resign before they were forced out. 

Not sure if you also know that disgracefully, the Conservatives also deselected Julie Mills. 

Cllr Mills was, in the most recent times, one of the best councillors this borough has ever seen. Dedicated, hard-working and critical but always fair. 

She has been respected on all sides for years, except by the RBKC Leadership and the KCFC Party bigwigs who pushed her out.  

Cllr Mills was most recently known for being the lone Conservative voice who rightly questioned the Council's expenditure decisions over Grenfell and lacklustre supposed "Grenfell Recovery" which is now being exposed at the Inquiry.  She was removed from Committee soon after that. Julie Mills was also a  Conservative councillor who was against  RBKC's abolition of the Grenfell Recovery Scrutiny Committee and who abstained during the vote. 

The very few councillors remaining who show some degree of conscience, are more popular with the voters than their leaders and who bring insightful debate and independent thinking to the table, had perhaps better watch their backs. It looks like Elizabeth Campbell and Emma Dent Coad want their party councillors to be robots who agree with every single thing they say and do and will never ever pose any sort of challenge to them....that is why Victoria Borwick was never selected.

Such narcissism can only result in our Council being more detached from its public than it is already.  It is small wonder election turnouts are so low and poorer scrutiny levels abysmal.

It would appear that Cllrs Campbell and Dent Coad have far more in common than either would like to admit.

Recently, Patrick Bullick, the Dame's favourite property guru, penned a piece suggesting benefits payments should be used to re-acquire flats/houses foolishly sold off in the Thatcher years. It was sheer BRILLIANCE

Bullick's proposal was too clever and like all such it was rejected by the dimwits who advise Blunderer. 

Instead, Boris the Blunderer and his partying special advisers dreamt up an idea so startlingly divisive and impractical it must have been a practical joke.

Blundering Boris wants people on benefits to be able to use taxpayer's money to fund a mortgage!

Over to Bullick..."the whole reason people are on housing benefits is because they cannot make ends meet on their own. No lender will consider them a good candidate for safe mortgage lending:plus, where will they get their deposits?

Bullick makes the further point that hard-working people struggle to get and fund their mortgages...."those who make sacrifices to get on the housing ladder should not have to fund this mad idea"

KIRILL, BOSS OF RUSSIAN CHURCH IN KENSINGTON SANCTIONED

The man above is Kirill's man in London, Gennady Andreev. Perhaps a look at his tax affairs might be enlightening?

The Dame and her friend, 'Pierce of the Mail' have taken a tough line over the activities of the Russian Orthodox Church and the greedily corrupt and decadent boss, Kirill.

Liz Truss has now decided to add Kirill to the sanctions list so his toys....superyachts...luxury cars and jets are under threat.

But, it is now time to look at his subsidiary church here in Kensington. It pays no Business Rates and it might be worthwhile seeing how it funds itself.

THE VERY UNCOMMON COMMON TOUCH LACKED BY POLITICIANS

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge went to Grenfell yesterday. 

Eddie Nestor on the BBC today made the point that they managed to "connect" with the people there in a way that politicians do not. 

So those who are born to rule appear to be better at "connecting" with ordinary people than those whom we elect to represent us.

Politicians on left, Dent Coad and Corbyn, arrogantly think they definitely "connect" with people because they practice the politics of the underdog and represent the underdog's interests. This begs the question, How could Grenfell survivors not connect with them? 

A patronising position for these lefties in the extreme.

But do Dent Coad and Corbyn "connect" with people any better than Tories like Theresa May and Boris Johnson who appear very awkward and uncomfortable when confronting a horrendous situation facing ordinary people. 

Dent Coad went to Grenfell with Corbyn just after the fire and bit her lip when Corbyn proclaimed that "Emma is your MP and she will speak out." 

No one got worked up about that in the way they do when royalty puts in an appearance. Dent Coad and Corbyn were shown on the television in the same way that the Cambridge's visit was also shown.

Emma Dent Coad is snobbish, superior, and patronising. 

Like Corbyn, and all middle-class lefties(and let's face it they are middle-class if they are in politics rather than toiling away in the supermarket) know best what the ordinary person needs. 

How could middle-class, Emma, and her left-wing middle-class mate, Jeremy, mentally identify with the working classes. Her attempts at fellow feeling were as feeble and meaningless as Theresa May's fleeting visit to Grenfell after the fire. 

Perhaps, the ordinary person prefers royalty to politicians.

Whereas, Judith Blakeman was a breath of fresh air for Grenfell people. A thoroughly decent woman without pretentious affectations who knows how to relate to people. She should get a medal

THE CAMPBELL'S NOT COMING

 

The Kensington Society, like the Chelsea Society, plays an important role in civic life.

Last night was the Annual General Meeting. Tout Kensington and Chelsea turn up to hear what has been achieved in the year.

So was it true there was a NO SHOW of Conservative councillors?  

We know that Emma Dent Coad dictates to her lot what they can and cannot do but has Cllr Campbell picked up these autocratic ways too?

I am bloody angry. 

RBK&C leadership at the time of Grenfell will shortly be coming under close scrutiny.

Two members of the "Cabinet' were involved in the decision making that in part led to the tragedy.

They were Cllr Campbell and Cllr Weale. 

Sensing that she might come under fire Weale has stepped down.

That leaves Campbell. Rather than stepping down Campbell has foisted herself on London Councils Executive as member for Business, Economy and Culture

Her lackey, Cllr Thalasittes tweets his congrats! 

We all remember Cllr Campbell claiming the now ill fated Holland Park Academy  cost nothing 'because we sold the land adjacent to a developer'

It never crossed the foolish lady's mind that the taxpayers still paid for it with the sale of their assets.

But, the real point is this. 

Campbell may not have Grenfell blood on her hands but she did hold the levers of power at the time of the fire. She is the last link to this tragedy. The sooner she goes the better.

LET'S HAVE BRITISH COMPANIES RUNNING BRITISH SERVICES

Two mainly foreign owned companies contributed to tons of sewage and rats entering our homes last July.

Thames Water (run by a much criticised absentee chairman )for not turning on the pumps and Suez for failing to execute its gutter cleaning contract.

Immediately after the July 12th sewage inundation Suez quickly sent out gutter cleaners. 

In the months following none have been seen.

Terry Oliver, director of Cleaner Greener and Cultural Services said that gully cleaning was part of Suez's contract yet NO ONE had ever seen one of these machines in operation.

Come on Terry! Crack the bloody whip and get Suezage to fulfill its contract.

WHATEVER THE RESULT AT 21.00 JOHNSON WILL LOSE

We all know what happens when a company is bid for yet narrowly escapes the clutches of the predator.

Despite narrowly winning, it knows its days are numbered. Weeks/ months later it hands itself over to a friendly buyer.

The same will happen to Johnson. Even if he narrowly wins the vote he will be so seriously wounded that his authority will be gone.

He says it will take a flame gun to get him out of No 10: that may soon happen irrespective of the vote.

OUR PULP FICTION LIBRARIES

No wonder no one bothers to use our libraries. The shelves are full of the sort of 'literature' to be found in charity shops.

On most days the library in Chelsea Town Hall is a graveyard.

Could that be because of shelves filled with rubbish like those on the left by pulp writers James Patterson and Danielle Steele?

Muriel Spark, one of the great novelists of this and the last century published over eighteen novels. 

The library service has decided that only four of her great novels will be displayed.

No wonder the libraries run on empty!

If your tastes run to fine literature it is like finding a needle in a haystack amongst the shelves of pulp fiction.

 

CONSERVATION LEADER DOESN'T 'DO' ART DECO!

At RBKC she looks after the conservation of our local heritage.

Currently she is a bit part-time as she's writing a doctoral paper on the conservation of Syria's heritage. 

Maybe this so preoccupied her she failed to notice that the destruction of the Art Deco cinema in Kensington also meant the loss of unique examples of Art Deco workmanship and architecture for the nation.

Interestingly, Miss Buckingham is a Trustee of the London Historic Buildings Trust!

This is one of the builders of Holland Park Gate's developments in Mumbai....hideous! 

You cannot say the Council's planners were not warned about Mr Lodha's aesthetic sensibilities. 

The vilely named Holland Park Gate is evidently his first in the UK: let's hope it will be the last.

LODHA tried to bully a Mumbai flat buyer into submission over claims of faulty workmanship.

LODHA RUBBISH!

The Kensington Art Deco Cinema before Indian developers got their greedy hands on it.

LODHA is an Indian developer. It stands guilty of recklessly destroying this wonderful Art Deco cinema and replacing it with the horror below. 

The cinema interior and exterior were rare examples of Art Deco craftmanship...not a vestige has been left. 

The Council stands guilty of permitting these barbarians to raze this important part of our heritage to the ground. 

Those with long memories know that the council has form for vandalising heritage buildings. 

Overnight, the then Council leader, weird Nicholas Freeman, had the wonderful Old Town Hall destroyed before a Preservation Order could be served.

If a British developer knocked down an Indian heritage imagine the anger yet LODHA are allowed to get away with it here.

HOW SHE FIXES THINGS BY 'ONE WHO KNOWS'

Lari....The Public School Enforcer Boy

If those on the outside ever wonder how the DentCoad/ Lari/Kear triumvirate maintains its grip on the constituency party and the selection of candidates etc. one has only to look at last week's, perhaps misnamed 'All members  meeting'

1. Notices of meetings are only sent out at the last possible moment with precisely 7 days' notice. This means that only those 'in the know' or with no other life outside the sectarian struggle are likely to attend.
The constituency party used to publish an annual calendar of meetings & events to encourage regular attendance by ordinary members. 

But of course, this had to go if the will of the vanguard was to prevail
2. Any member who displays any independence of thought or failure to follow orders mysteriously disappears from the distribution list. Cllr. Lari ruthlessly controls who receives notices and is eligible to attend (remember that it was Lari alone who determined that former Cllr. Henderson was banned from meetings & former Cllr. Nail received no notices). 

Lari used to boast that the constituency had over 1000 members but now he seems to show smiling satisfaction that only 37 loyalists turn up to ALL Member meetings - to receive their orders.
3. If by some miracle, anyone not part of the Leninist vanguard manages to make it to the meeting they will quickly find that, should they start to display independence of thought or simply ask awkward questions Cllr. Dent Coad will cut them off and even switch off the microphone to those who dispute her rulings or views.
4. For decades the constituency used to hold democratic, convivial and popular ward meetings which are constitutionally sovereign and served to feed in ideas and resolutions to what was supposed to be a representative General Committee. 

As the branches proved to be difficult to control they were ruthlessly taken over,closed down & the 'Leninists' then vested all activities on 'ALL member' meetings to which not all members were invited and guest speakers were often not even party members.

They then constructed a mysterious 'Executive Committee' whose meetings are held in secret and whose minutes are never shared with elected councillors nor ordinary members.(It seems that deep down Dent Coad & Lari have more in common with the Illuminati than with Leninism )
5. The Covid lockdown proved highly advantageous for the triumvirate and meetings swiftly moved online. Online technology proved a deterrent for some older members but allowed many Corbynisters who were away at university or had even moved away to continue to participate & vote in Kensington matters. 

It also made it easy for Cllr Lari to orchestrate events even when he was actually resident at the family's German Schloss whilst claiming to be toiling for the Revolution in grimy North Kensington. 
The pandemic has now largely faded but Kensington Party events have still not returned to 'meetings in person' because online meetings remain much simpler to control.  

It will be interesting to see if democratic, 'in-person meetings' will be restored in the autumn when the party moves on to select its Parliamentary Candidate

The dysfunctionality of the Kensington Labour Party is widely known across London and it will be interesting to know if the National Party will be willing and able to intervene to ensure that the Parliamentary selection is more democratic and successful than the local election fiasco.

To drag in the Queen to defend Johnson plumbs the depths of vulgarity.

The imbecilic woman who started her life as PR person promoting cigarettes told the Daily Mail masses that this weekend is going to be all about the longstanding dedicated service that Her Majesty the Queen has given that nation: "you proles need to rally behind that and shut up."

HOW TO SAVE BILLIONS IN HOUSING BENEFITS

Over the last ten years, an eyewatering £380 billion has been paid out in Housing Benefits to private landlords. 

Mainly the billions have gone into the pockets of property investors benefiting from Margaret Thatcher's ill-thought through 'Right To Buy' scheme.

Council tenants bought their homes at a deep discount and then sold them on cheaply to property investors who then re-rented back to councils at exorbitant rents...quite daft!

Is there a cost-efficient way for councils to re-acquire such property and thus rebuild council housing stocks?
