CLLR ELNAGHI KEEPS IT QUIETLY IN THE FAMILY

Dearest Dame

I wonder what your blog thinks of RBKC  councillors who do not declare when their immediate family members receive public money allocated for Grenfell Recovery ?

Here is the list of successful projects receiving grants from the latest round of the Grenfell Projects Fund.

One of the successful organisations  is "Homemade Teachers CIC" who received just under £10K.

Cllr Elnaghi has omitted to declare ANYWHERE that Homemade Teachers"  is run by his wife and daughter!

This might be peanuts but it has residents asking the much bigger question of how many other councillors are not declaring their interests properly?

Yours in shock

    1. Elnagi is a member of the "Barry Quirk fan club" So is Cllr Ali Both always heaping praise on Quirk when they should be questioning, examining and holding exec to account instead So much for Labour standing up for people of NK!

All part of the pathetic Socialist Borough of Quirk without any control or Leadership from the useless Cllr dizzy Campbell who parades as a Conservative. She is no such thing.

  2. How fair is this grant funding voting process? Not very, when most of us voted for Nova New Oppotunities in that category and they didn't receive a penny. Here is full list of successful projects

    1. Hasn't Nova already done very nicely out of Grenfell spending? Only fair to let the others get a look in.

    2. Regardless of whether that may be so or not, why were Nova encouraged to bid and listed among the various orgs for residents to vote on if they were never going to be considered and if the votes for them were not going to be counted?

    3. We can't know if that's the case. What we can know is the history, for the taxpayers that are interested.

Hard to get this stuff right. When handouts are in the air all the snouts come out to sniff. Cllr Elnaghi looks like an old guy. He should know better. And his residents will think less of him

But then everyone takes the lead from those above them. Boris? Pooter?

  4. Human nature is human nature. Greed (Cllr Elnaghy, doesn't he look greedy?) and envy (the taxpayer who wrote to the Dame).

Fortunately we have fearless investigators like the Dame and champions of the people who expose these foibles and give the rest of us a chance to make our own minds up about these flawed people.

  5. Main issue isn't really Cllr Elnaghis family or their organisation. It seems legit. Its him not declaring and very few councillors actually declaring their interests properly. This oversight on Cllr Elnaghi's behalf isn't hugely serious but raises serious questions about interests of other councillors and also officers regarding the lack of transparency. Everyone remembers Fielding-Mellen and prep schools everyone remembers Cockle
The worry is what else is there about others not declared that we don't know about? Where are the standards? Only small handful of councillors make declarations of interest as they're supposed to and fill in gifts and hospitality forms in full. For example we all all know that Holland Park Opera sends them all tickets but only a few of them bother mention that.RBKC have not learnt anything from the past.
