CAMPBELL AND THE GRENFELL TRAGEDY

This Is North Kensington(THINK) has launched a devasting critique of the Council leader.

It accuses her of a multitude of mistakes and misjudgments.

It now seems the Leader is casting herself as a sort of spokesperson for London in an effort to get herself a peerage.

But Elizabeth Campbell was a Cabinet member at the time of Grenfell. She must be disconnected from reality to think she would ever be ennobled carrying so much Grenfell baggage,

There would be fury, not just in North Kensington but throughout the Borough and beyond.

The Dame will say no more. She leaves her readers to ponder upon the THINK piece: it should be required reading for all....whatever their political inclinations.

  1. This is a devastating critique from "This is North Kensington". It is not party political banter. It is a heartfelt shout from the gut from residents. The people who pay the Council Tax and the people who look to the political class for fairness, responsibility and justice.

Unfortunately it is very clear that Cllr Campbell is on a mission to get herself into the House of Lords. RBKC is a stepping stone that she is using ruthlessly and in a most self interested way to achieve her objective.

    A real cockroach.

There are parallels to be drawn here with the national situation. We have an extremely unpopular and ineffectual Prime Minister with a brilliant alternative, Rishi Sunak.
Here in K&C we have an extremely unpopular and ineffectual leader with a brilliant alternative, Kim Taylor-Smith.

According to reports Campbell is loaded. Would it not be well bred to give up her £50k plus a year allowance....so vulgar.

    2. Devonshire,

The more money these people have got, the more they want. Labour and Tory in K&C have both plumbed the depths of vulgarity over money.

    3. I can see how Lizzy Campbell has plumbed the depths of vulgarity over money. Just don't see how Labour Councillors have done the same.

    4. Former Kensington Labour MP gave up her Council Allowance when she got in to parliament. When serving the full five year term at Westminster seemed unlikely, she reclaimed her Council Allowance.

  4. Campbell has been trying for a while to raise her profile at national level. Quite a few articles penned for Conservative Home and all characterised by toadying up to Boris Johnson.

Those of us who have done the rounds know a creep when we see one.

Yes, Campbell has toadied up to Johnson - ingratiating.
Just like Dent Coad toadied up to Corbyn and crawled around Abbott - obsequious

      Let's toady,
      Let's do it,
      Even educated fleas do it,
Let's toady and fall in to a vat of sh*t

    3. The Conservative Home Articles are all produced at the prodding of CEO Quirk who knows how to pander to the ego of his superiors.

I have no idea if the speculation in this blog is right or wrong but the idea of the Leader of RBKC at this time being rewarded by a place in the House of Lords does not feel right.

    1. Elizabeth Campbell in the House of Lords is unlikely. The Times considers that Shaun Bailey will be ennobled in the next Prime Minister's list as a reward for putting up a good fight at the last Mayoral Election and for serving in Downing Street.

    3. It would be too much for Emma to bear if Shaun Bailey is elevated to the peerage. She would need to take a powder and lie down in a dark room before reminding us all that she is of Medici stock.
