"WE HEAR BUT WE DON'T LISTEN" SAYS CLLR WEALE

The next leader of our council needs to be very special to do battle with Doctor Quirk.

The good doctor has populated the senior team with sidekicks from his old stamping ground in Lewisham and is hell-bent on keeping his hands on the levers of power.

"Dame, what sort of leader can best prise Quirk's pudgy fingers from those levers of power"

A good question....

The new crop of Conservative councillors is actually rather good.

From the north of the Borough, some of the Lefties tell the Dame they have time for Cllr Cyron and that is echoed by others who know.

Cllr Thalassites is also proving the Dame wrong by understanding the absolute need to heed residents.

What worries the Dame are rumours that Cllr Weale is jockeying to succeed Cllr Campbell.

                                                                                         Weale
Saddling up for an £80,000 allowance

It's not because Cllr Weale is one of the tainted Grenfell 'old guard' that makes the Dame toss and turn in her massive Empire style Louis Quinze bed.

In all the years that Cllr Weale has been a ward councillor she has been invisible to residents.

The heavy lifting working has always been done by her fellow ward councillors.

Every resident should do their best to ensure Cllr Weale is never made leader.

She is lazy and lacks the motivation to promote the interests of residents.

At one meeting she was heard to say, "we hear but we don't listen"....that about sums her up.

There is only one potential leader in the wings and that is Cllr Cyron.

  1. Oh no!! This cannot be true. There could be no greater pox afflicted on Hornton Street than Wealebin. It would be the end of residents - Tory and Labour

  2. On first reading, this story sounds like an unbelievable tip off from the Dame. But on further investigation maybe there is substance. Cllr dizzie Campbell was never up to the job of Leader and maybe tired of it. Cllr Weale (and the other airhead Cllr Faulks) are part of dizzy's kitchen Cabinet and enjoy their sleep overs in Sloane Square. Has lizzie tipped off Wealebin that there may soon be a job vacancy? We know that the bin has unbridled ambition, unfortunately matched by zero capability. For example, she is incapable of mastering a brief.

The Dame's readers need more inside information about what is going on.

There is a different angle to this story. The RBKC Tories are doing some contingency planning before the publication of the Grenfell Enquiry report. Leader Cllr Campbell was the Cabinet Member for children and families, and therefore deeply involved in housing, in the years leading up to the catastrophe. She cannot shrug off this involvement and responsibility. If public opinion demands a sacrifice she will be one of the first in line to lose her job. Others, like ex Cllr Fielding, could face jail. Cllr Weale is ambitious and perceives an opportunity for personal advancement. Being as close as she is to the Leader, it is inconceivable that she will be lobbying without support from Cllr Campbell. In the Court of Public Opinion Cllr Campbell is already hugely exposed after she was forced to admit on the Today Program, after taking over the Leadership that she had "never visited a Council flat"

  4. Good for the Dame. This attempt to grab the Leadership is important information for the Tory Councillors who will be called upon to vote for the new person. Hornton Street Tories are still subjected to a regime of patronage and it is customary for Leadership decisions to be stitched up in "smoke filled" rooms and then sprung on the poodles so that they can be whipped into line. Thanks to the Dame, the attempted foist is out. All Councillors can now consider their position and the new boys and girls can discuss what kind of future they would like to see in the Town Hall

  5. When Cllr Paget-Brown was forced to resign as Leader after Grenfell there was an undignified scramble for power. All sorts of undesirables threw their hat into the ring, including dizzie who rushed back from America where she was taking a year off to go sailing with hubby. (It was called a sabbatical). This is not the way the Tories like to do things. In the accustomed fashion, Cllr Weale has let it be known in a few discrete corners that she would graciously accept the Leadership if it is offered.

    1. It seems that there are very few discrete corners where the Dame does not have eyes and ears

  8. Sounds like "all change" is coming in the Town Hall. Is Doc Quirk for the chop as well?
